Hotel Carmel was located in a beautiful setting in Aspen . Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on in front of the hotel but it was convenient to most shops and restaurants despite the sidewalk closure . Our room was super clean as was the bathroom although the bathroom was so small , you could barely get in it . The shower was great ! The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast had many options and was enjoyable . For almost $400 a night this hotel seemed overpriced but we did realize we were in Aspen .

Sheets were not clean had hair on them, had to ask for clean ones, thermostat doesn’t work so room was freezing they even know this and give you a small space heater woke up to 55 degree room, towels were old had holes room, power flipped off reception had to flip a breaker Was 600 dollars for A 90 dollar motel, staff was polite.

Just not in the shape one should expect for the price they get.

Pro's Location it has 3 bus stops to Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk right outside the hotel. It has amazingly helpful staff. Ring ahead to get your free taxi to and from the airport. You can ask for a late checkout and gain a few extra hours for free. Things to note - not bad breakfast in a box included in your room price. Cons Paper thin walls expect to hear people peeing, flushing toliets,, washing hands, walking up and downstairs, shutting doors etc Do not expect a real kitchenette it is a bar with a poorly fitting sink a fridge underneath which freezes everything and a microwave. Do not expect a stove top, plates, cultery, microwaveable cups, knives, chopping board etc etc The rooms are old and dated despite attempts to add a splash of colour and art work. The hot tub does not have all the jets working and some days it is a luke warm tub. Overall this is a hotel you go to if you don't stay in your hotel. This is a $50-75 a night experience but it is in Aspen so expect to pay x 6.

The room I had was in terrible condition. The toilet would not flush, the drains in both the sink and tub were clogged, and the mixer handle on the shower was broken, making it almost impossible to use. But worse of all was the bed... very soft. Too soft. So soft I could not sleep. The room felt like a cheap roadside place to stay while driving on a long trip... not a room in a world class resort. Grossly overpriced!! In defense of the management, they were polite and tried to fix everything except the bed. They also gave me a ride to the slopes one morning when the buses were not available.

Dirty, old. But well located I was so disappointed. But I paid all day’s and I stayed. Maybe it was because of Covid. But horrible dirty

You get what you pay for. Did not love this motel but it is what it is

Great place definitely recommend and hope to come back in the near future. Hospitality and breakfast was okay. Liked the help we received from then front desk as well as the after hours crew. Their assistance with the minor power outage was definitely responded to immediately. Thank you.

Nice place, low keyed, close to town. Nice breakfast, easy walk to main part of town.

The Hotel Aspen is centrally located (only 2 blocks from the very center of downtown) and an exceptional value for Aspen. The rooms, however, are very dated (welcome back to the 1970s). But they are clean and comfortable and the staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. They also have a nice heated pool area with multiple hot tubs--and a great complimentary breakfast every morning with a variety of options that proved perfect for me and my partner. I'd stay again for the relaxing vibe, reasonable prices and great location.

/Centrally located . Limited parking. Property is old but well maintained and clean.
