Well kept up, friendly staff, beautiful setting

Lots of mosquitoes. Staff don’t speak English

Excelente

The property is huge, and you have to take golf court type buses to get around everywhere. There were not enough activities, and the entire staff spoke little to no English. I went to Jamaica in July, and there was adequate activities for guess. Also guests temperatures weren't checked regularly.

This property is brand new and renovated. It is EXTREMELY huge and beautiful. However the food is disgusting. We even got food poisoning from the sushi they had. The restaurants take over an hour to serve you a la cart meals which drags and even though there's several restaurants they're always packed and take forever. The activities on the other hand are real nice and fun! The staff is mostly nice and professional. They are strict on dress code and demand men wear either closed shoes or nice sandals/ dress up shoes for dinner which is a little ridiculous to me considering you're at the beach. Only the platinum guest get free room service and all alcohol drinks are included with stay. From what I heard this resort is also the only one that is doing activities and has various restaurants open late regardless of the COVID restrictions placed on the island by the government. So I guess its a plus.

Omg! Had a great time! Beautiful . Bungalow was near the beach that was cool

I stayed at this resort for four nights. Frankly I wouldn't return to this resort. There is only one large community pool and one small deep pool for everyone in that resort. The beach was full of Kelp and couldn't enjoy it during my stay. Most restaurants open for dinner time at 6pm so you really can't experience it all in a short visit. I didn't really care for the food in this resort it didn't wow me. Many people there told me that the Italian and Indian restaurant were not really good. I went to the hibachi place for dinner one night at 6:15pm and ended up sitting down at our table at 8pm. My kids were starving. This place is short staffed and having to wait on food in an all inclusive resort on your vacation is a big no no for me. This place is so badly designed that each living unit holds only 12 apartments. There were so many small housing units here that shuttle carts are needed here. There's more housing units in this resort than there is entertainment for it's guests. No night life except a kids show with the same music every night. Did not get a "Dominican experience here" thought I'd taste more Dominican food and experience more of it's culture. There is nothing to do outside the resort so if you hope to experience things outside this is not the place. Many salesmen hover over you here to get you to buy into the resort so they can get "points" we kept telling them no thank you. Overall a very disappointing stay.

Horrible service, the employees barely make you feel seen OR heard. If you want to waste your money, definitely stay here

Good people, very accommodating. The resort was well organized and had everything you need.

Purchased three bedrooms for four nights, one of the rooms was a platinum room which smelled and felt muggy when we first walked in. We thought we needed to give the room some time to cool down with the AC but later realized it was not working. We were advised to close the bathroom door in order to cool the bedroom…this did not make any difference. The next night I was not able to sleep because of how uncomfortable the room was due to poor performance of the ac. When I called the main lobby to notify again about the issue they sent a technician who checked the AC… it took 4 different technicians for the main lobby to finally offer to change us to a different room. I lost two nights of sleep out of the four nights I stayed in the resort, I was the one who had to stay on top of the issue by spending the second evening going from the room to the lobby every time they sent a technician. My son and my husband were near the beach during our first night and were offered drugs… something that has never happened to us before. In summary, I was not able to relax as I planned due to the issues explained above. I feel like I did not get a fair trade for the amount of money I paid.

Horrible service. The food was not good. Nightly entertained is practically non-existent and average at best. The rooms were okay. Staff was not friendly and we have stayed at MANY hotels in DR and the staff is usually very friendly. At this hotel they looked like they did not want to be there, they would keep you waiting & would not even try to spark conversations. The beach and pool are beautiful, but the pool was so dirty. We did not even swim in it. We only stayed there two nights and we were so glad to get out of there. Never again! and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Terrible hotel I don’t like

Management had no control over other people was not safe

I don’t like orbitz service . Hotel was wonderful!

Food menu was very limited, maybe because of the pandemic

Well, it was my first time in DR and I absolutely enjoy every single day. Love the fact that people there are very friendly. OMG the karaoke nights at 24/7 are awesome (PS: should have it more often and last a little longer too ;). Definitely going back, this time with my daughter... I'm sure she will enjoy it. Thank y'all

Dear Guest. Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you choose our hotel as your tourist destination but deeply regret that your stay was not as good as you were expecting because our main goal will be always try to please all our guests as much as we can. We regret the inconvenience you had staying at our property and we cannot deny that you could have contracted this sickness even by poor food handling practice but it is not necessarily it could happen at our Resort as it could have been also at the Airport, in the Airplane, at any excursion that they could have made...among others. We are used to see guests that in the excitement of their vacations, forget very simple and hygienic procedures like washing their hands after going to the bathroom, or before eating. We would like to explain that the handling and hygiene of our Food and Beverages is one of our main priorities and this is the reason why we are affiliated and follow the international Food Safety Program (the Crystal standards), which evaluates and audits all the levels of quality in food and beverages as well as everything related with the quality and hygiene periodically. In this sense, we would like to inform you that, certainly, many people may experience gastrointestinal disorders when they visit some Tropical countries as the Dominican Republic, which could be directly related to several factors among which we can emphasize: allergy to some native product, upheavals caused by a diet change (different food consumption from those of the habitual diet or a disturbed consumption of certain products), or the certain food or drinks mixture. Also another way, and this could be the most common on our opinion, is to be infected by a traveler virus which is very contagious. Unfortunately without any evidence which could have showed us that it was because of us and if our hotel refuse to assume any responsibility is for the simple fact that we have not received any medical report of any of our guests, but we can assure that the safety of our guests is top priority and we try to follow the strictest programs of hygiene and quality. Certainly our Platinum package offers certain benefits that our regular package does not offer but it happened at any hotel in the world, airplanes, restaurants, etc As you may know, we always want our guests to have an excellent time and we are sorry because we could not please you in a 100% this time. We assure that this will never happen again. We hope to have another opportunity to be your host if you return to Dominican Republic as we are sure that we can do it better in your next stay. Honestly, J. De La Vieja. General Manager. Grand Bavaro Princess.
