We stayed here for 4 nights on our first visit to Budapest. We found the staff to be very helpful and check in easy. Our room was large and clean and modern with a lovely bathroom. Free safe which was really good. The location was ideal. Just perfect for everything. The breakfast was outstanding in our opinion. The scrambled eggs were delicious, served with bacon one day sausage the next etc . There was carrots and ratatouille on as a breakfast choice it's true but although it is not to our British taste there were plenty of people from other countries enjoying them and there was certainly plenty for all to choose from. The hotel arranged our transfers to and from the hotel without a hitch We would definitely book here again and have already recommended to friends. We certainly did not experience any sewage smell as a previous traveller has stated and we are a married couple in our mid 50's and definitely NOT party people who like to fall out of the bar into bed as suggested this hotel is suitable for. Our room ws quiet with the exception of one night when a couple of ladies came home a little worse for wear in the early hours and had rouble finding their key. Hey ho they are on holiday and just enjoying themselves. No big deal.
We walked past the hotel twice before we found it as the sign is the size of a A3 piece of paper. No extra signs. On entering the hotel there is a horrible raw sewage smell that enters the room but it is not as bad until you have a shower or flush the toilet then the smell appears from the holes in the bathroom. The communal areas are clean and of average style and decor except for the smell. The room is absolutely not the cosy room advertised on the photos when booking the hotel you have to upgrade for that one. The room was very big but very unwelcoming. Bare walls and bare wooden floor. View from the window was of other rooms and windows. It was like being in a box with no atmosphere. The bed was like a rock and the quilt on the bed was a summer quilt and was no way warm enough for winter. The heating stopped working in the middle of the night but came back on in the morning. It was freezing. The bathroom was nice and the room and bathroom were very clean, except for the dirty sofa bed cover. The breakfast was ok not the best but if I had to pay for it I would have asked for a refund. It’s the first time in all my travels I have ever seen cold carrots and cold ratatouille offered for breakfast. The breakfast room also smelt of sewage and was extremely small. We had to share our table with other people. Had to wait 10 minutes for clean plates, twice! The plates were full of chips. I made a espresso for my partner from the coffee machine which was very watery and a cappuccino for my self that came with a complimentary hair that was not in the cup prior. We booked this hotel for a romantic night away from the kids because of the photos and ended up extremely disappointed in the atmosphere and uncomfortable rooms and smell. The photos are not the reality. This hotel feels more like a hostel and as a frequent traveller to Budapest there are definitely better hotels for the same price in the same area. And somebody needs to sort the smell because every review I have since read spanning back months and months mentioned the smell and nothing has been done to stop it. This hotel is good for party people who just want to fall out of the bars and into bed. But for those people wanting to have comfort while enjoying Budapest then I would chose another hotel. The only good things about this hotel is the friendly staff and location!
The location of this hotel was perfect. Right in the middle of the shopping street. Places to eat up and down the street. The room was a nice size had what you needed. Bathroom was perfect. Fridge in the room ideal. The staff had good English and were very helpful. They were able to book our tickets for the baths and for the hop on off bus. The breakfast was nice. Its a small compact hotel but it was just what we needed for a busy weekend.
A great hotel in the heart of Boudapest! The breakfast was very tasty, with different choises every morning! The reception was always ready to help us! From there we booked tickets for the thermal baths and the bus "hop on hop off" with no extra charge!! We really enjoy our stay!!
We got there with a taxi from the airport, 3 minutes walk into the vaci, a great location! Just in the middle, 10 minutes from the great market, 3 minutes from the bus. Small room but very comfy, nice minibar, great staff! Very friendly, gave an hour free with late checkout
Amazing place! Amazing room, excerpt for the second bed, but the hotel was very well located! We loved Handy, was an excellent option that helped us a lot to walk thorough the city. The breakfast was great.
Hotel is in excellent location right in the city centre. Staff were friendly and inviting. Reception area is very small with one desk and Manned by one stay member. There is a lift to take you to the different floors. The rooms are very small and basic. No tea or coffee making facilities in most of the rooms and the rooms that did have facilities only had a coffee machine so not much good for those who enjoy a cup of tea or a normal coffee. A large number of the rooms had only the one window which looked on to the inside of what I can only describe as the lift shaft, no good if you are opening the window to let in some fresh air. The bathroom has a bath, toilet and a wash hand basin and a shower head, only good for taking down and giving yourself a wash down.... Doesn't work as an shower. There is also a hairdryer. On the plus side the rooms were clean and fresh bedding and towels were provided daily. Mini bar prices were very good with cost for wine and spirits 2 euros and 2.5 euros. The breakfast room was on the 6th floor, a very small room the size of a standard sitting room. The breakfast wasn't worth getting up for, bread rolls croissants jam and butter, some fruit and yougart, coffee machine and flavoured teas, there was a hot plate which has a choice of 3 items, one morning it was carrots hot dog sausages and scrambled eggs another morning out was streaky bacon something in a spicy sauce and some type of veg. We had toast the days we did go for breakfast. All in all it was clean in a great location and probably a 2 start hotel not the 3 and a half they describe it as being
Room was nice and clean, nice bathroom. There is a 'Handy' smartphone in the room which we could take out which was useful for Google maps, but it didn't always work for some reason. Our bedroom window looked out onto the lift which was quite noisy and disturbing at night but overall this was a really nice stay in a really convenient location with friendly staff. There is a left luggage facility. Breakfast was basic but nice.
We hav just checked out of this hotel after a 3 night stay! The staff were so friendly and helpful giving us lots of information of the area! We bought hop on hop off bus tickets from reception where the staff guided us to the nearest bus stop! We also bought tickets for the thermal baths and in doing so avoided having to que to get in! The room was lovely and modern spotlessly clean and lovely and warm! Great location right in the middle of a nice shopping area and close to all sights! Had a lovely stay thank you very much x
Clean hotel with helpful staff. Great location close to river, shops and only 15minutes to ruins pub area. Breakfast goos as well, choice of hot and cold food. Telly and fridge, nice bathroom. You have to pay for coffee making facility and for bottled water provided, much cheaper to buy some from shops.
