The hotel is decent. The great advantage is that is located at a very nice area and near the center. The rooms are ok (nothing special), the breakfast is also OK. The stuff has is ok. Keep In mind not to stay near the elevators at the first floor because is the meeting point for the cleaning ladies at 07:00 in the morning.
Stayed at The President during October 2017 and found the stay pleasing apart from a power cut one morning at breakfast time. This was not the Hotels fault but that of workmen near the hotel cutting a cable. Our stay was good, room good and food fine. For the money, good value and pleasant staff. The Hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the city centre.
We stayed here for 4 night's and were placed in a room on the 1st floor off the atrium. I was concerned the street traffic would be noisy but it was surprisingly quiet, all noise came from inside the hotel. At night you can hear the noise from the resteraunt and on one occasion there was a business meeting with coffee in the atrium and the noise carried into our corridor, it was astounding. Nothing that couldn't be fixed by placing a door at the hall entrance to the atrium. The spa we lovely and quiet and we used it once and the gym was pretty extensive. Breakfast was lovely and varied and the overall look and feel of the hotel is beautiful. I was looking forward to going up to the rooftop bar to see across the city, especially at sunset, but the lift wouldn't work. When I asked at reception I was told it closes at the end of September for the off season. I was dissapointed to hear this as it was a selling point for the hotel and part of the reason we booked. There was no signage or detail on this closure ahead of our trip. Room service was a little disappointing, beds were made every evebing when we returned but toilet roll, tissues were not replenished and we had to ask at reception for more. Also on two days dirty mugs were left in the room and weren't changed. The location of the hotel is good and it's an easy 10 minute walk or so to the Danube.
In September my wife and I spent 3 nights in the Hotel President in Budapest as part of an OAT group. I want to draw attention to a dangerous situation in the main lobby. A number of chairs there have decorative ledges on the walls above them in a position where it is very easy to bump your head as you sit down. My wife and I both hit our heads and witnessed a guest doing the same - fortunately with no major harm but there is potential for a serious head injury. I reported these cases to a staff member at the check-in desk but she did not seem to take this seriously. Would the hotel management please comment. Thank you.
Excellent hotel good size rooms excellent breakfast very friendly staff very convenient position to explore Budapest Good bar stayed for 3 nights booked with British Airways taxi from airport to hotel
Hotel was in a good position , about 5 mins from Basilica. Hotel room was small but clean . We was given a coffee machine and 4 pods and then you had to buy more from reception which was odd as you usually get complementry tea and coffee. Breakfast was a self service Buffett , plenty of choice. .
Spent 3 nights in the fairly new wing of this hotel, great size room and good bathroom, all spotlessly clean, free wifi, great location for the city and friendly staff. Breakfast choice fantastic, can't fault this hotel. Highly recommend
Friendly, beautiful place to stay in a perfect location. Breakfast, room decor, spa facilities and above all the roof terrace restaurant with a fairy tale like view of the city at night. We were enraptured. The stay was rather too short, but we will come again.
This is a large modern hotel right in the city centre so great location. We stayed in a new wing which has small rooms round a covered courtyard which means the windows all look to the inside so no fresh air. However the air conditioning was good. Everything in the hotel, service, staff, cleanliness, food etc was all very good. It also has a roof terrace bar which offers great views of the city and of the spectacular coloured roof of the treasury building across the street. Top marks for this hotel.
We arrived at the hotel very late in the evening. Lucky for us the hotel call the day before and ask if we needed a taxi from the airport. Nice touch from them and a very good idea when arriving after midnight. The hotel lobby is very old world with modern details. We arrived to our room in a corner, very large with 4 large windows and 2 small balconies. Modern looking rooms with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast every day was plentiful with lots of options. Staff at the breakfast room were very friendly. The breads are great freshly made in house everyday. Pool are and spa very nice as well we use it twice. Loved the beautiful roof top terrace, had drinks twice with an amezing view. Location of the hotel is perfect, within walking distance to all the major attractions, many restaurants, cafés and the underground. My only small disappointed was the housekeeping in the bathroom, the underside of the toilet seat was never cleaned in our 6 night stay. The towels are very thin. We are planing to go back next year and we will stay at this hotel, love it.
