The River's Edge Hotel was in a very good location in Portland. Staff was professional and helpful. Problems: Sink was stopped up, Frig did not work and toilet was running. Maintenance worker did fix sink after one day...

First room was not cleaned prior to me checking in. Staff was so nice and gave us a cleaner, bigger room!!

Beautiful facility. Wish my room didn't look out at the parking lot!

The room was amazing and bed very comfortable. Easy check-in and a very nice spa.

Perfect location along the river. Staff was nice and friendly, but didn’t follow through with a request for a child’s crib (that was advertised as a free amenity & “family-friendly” place!). Not advertised was the required $30 valet parking (no where else to park), after paying a $28 “resort fee”. Room was completely out of all shower products and in-room coffee area had a lot of tea options, but only decaf coffee pods?

Clean and quiet with amiable staff. Value for the dollar was high! The shower and tub situation could be updated. The stone was great, the the literal shower doors looked circa 1975, tub was no different than a residential tub. The photos looked like it would be jetted. Not a big deal, the awesomeness of the room more than made up for what the tub and shower lacked.

The room is a nice size with king beds there is still lots of space to move. One disadvantage is there is only valet parking available.

Everything was great and the staff was great. My only critical thoughts were that because there's nothing close to the hotel that's open late, it would have been nice if there was some kind of snack bar downstairs or something like that where I could buy food. One other thought I had was, something that interested me in the hotel is that it was sold as a 4 star hotel, but being in the hotel, I didn't see how that was possible. Not to say anything was bad about it, but it definitely seemed like a 3 or 3.5 star to me. It seemed a little misleading to call it a 4 star hotel. But once again, I totally had a fine time at the hotel and again, the staff was great. Hope this helps, thanks.

Very nice rooms, nice property. Extra charges for parking, snacks in room.

The hotel appears nice and the staff is friendly. Our specific room was missing toiletries and had a broken telephone. While the room appeared to be clean my husband found condom wrappers under the beds when we were packing up our kids things to leave. The staff was kind and quick to respond/acknowledge our complaints but the experience made us decide we wouldn't likely stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to others.

Comfortable and kind staff. However, door was broken in that the lock didn't work so the door just pushed open without turning the handle or using the keycard. Staff came by to fix issue right away. Room didn't have towels or soap either, and there was mild in the shower. Management was helpful in addressing these issues

Never Again!! This hotel is poorly managed. There was no bar soap to use at the sink. We went down to the desk to ask for soap. We were told that they hadn't had soap for two weeks!! What hotel doesn't have soap?!?! We had to go over to the tub area, squirt some body wash into our hands and walk back to the sink! Then, to top it off, there were no wash cloths in the room! As we tried to relax in our room on Christmas night, there was a dog across the hall that barked incessantly! If a hotel is going to allow dogs, there should be a separate floor or wing for those rooms so that people not traveling with pets don't have to listen to dogs barking. Our two night stay was a nightmare. We will not be returning to that establishment.

So overall this hotel is a mixed bag. Best thing about it is the riverfront location; my room had a really nice view and it’s part of a business complex with trails and so forth. Close to the heart of downtown but out of the real crush of the center. The lobby is very “look at me I’m a hip-Portland hotel” which is fine. The room was large. Staff I encountered are friendly and helpful. But there were a few details that could have been better: the room has a sort of built-in bed platform - with the box spring totally exposed, torn labels and all. Ugh. The room had a bunch of light switches that did nothing. Also, with every light turned in, the room was weirdly dark - too dark to read. And there were dark stains on the shower grout. Ugh again. Finally, it seemed like my room only got partly serviced. (Two night stay.). When I returned, the bathroom light was on and my used towels had been removed - but not replaced, including no facecloths. The bed was made, but the pillows tossed aside. It was like the housekeeper was interrupted and never came back. Finally - maybe this is just me - but it seemed like the valet parking was unnecessary. They literally parked the car in a surface lot where I could see it from the sidewalk where I was waiting. After the first time the car was retrieved, they kept (or lost the claim check and I was told I had to remember the claim number. It would have been more convenient to park the car myself.

Old rooms. Small space and they misses doing the room cleanup.

Purposely booked the largest suite as we had family visiting and wanted a River view. When we got there, they had already given it to someone else. They told us that they were going to give us the same suite with a different view plus parking and breakfast vouchers instead as there were no other rooms available. The room they gave us was not the same at all (much smaller, HORRIBLE view of parking lot and industrial buildings, no kitchenette, etc.) The breakfast voucher to the next door restaurant was only good for one meal (not for both my husband and I) and it was for the same exact meal everyday (who wants to eat the same thing 3 days in a row!) The manager that checked us in was rude. Room was dirty and not stocked with normal stuff like hand soap, toilet paper (left us a fourth of a role), mini-bar only had 2 sodas in it, and patio furniture was filthy.
