Beautiful place in a great location. Super friendly staff. Great bed and room.

Phil and Mike made me feel at home! Definitely coming back again!

The property was beautiful, check out was easy and the staff was friendly. The hotel is in a central location.

Older but clean property. Significant add on from quoted price including $42 per night for valet parking and about $25 per night for amenities (I had free Wi-Fi). Various other taxes & fees for just being in Portland. I would consider other properties next time but my friends were staying there.

The history, the opulence, and the ambiance of the lobby takes you back in time. We enjoyed seeing the live jazz performance in the Palm Court from the mezzanine level balcony. The rooms are classically modern and nicely retrofitted to modern standards. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee, and used the coupon to dine at El Gaucho. We missed out on the fluffy robe because our room not been restocked. All together, a wonderful experience!

Charging hidden amenity/resort fees for any hotel is borderline fraud; for a downtown hotel in Oregon it's unforgivable. If the hotels don't want Orbitz and other to take a cut from their sales, then don't list with them. It makes them and Orbitz look bad.

I love the interior of the hotel! The dark wood and furnishing felt very warm and inviting inside.

I liked the rooms very much, I did not like the $29.38 daily charge for amenities that they charged us when they checked out. We were not told about the daily charge until we checked out.

Didn’t like the remodel- like keeping it classic and it looks cheap and modern cheap.

Overall good experience. Very comfortable mattress

We enjoyed our stay while we visited Portland, Oregon.

The front desk staff was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. Our flight arrived about 4 hours early and came straight to the hotel from the airport, only to drop off our luggages at the concierge. We were planning to walk around while we wait for our check in time. The front desk was nice enough to let us check in early and gave us our room. On the last day of our trip, we asked for a late check out as our flight was not until the evening. We were allowed to check out of our room an hour later and was offered to leave our luggages at the concierge while we roamed around the city before we head off to the airport. While walking, we realized we left some cheeses in the refrigerator inside the room. We alerted the front desk and they checked it for us. They even stored it in a refrigerator by the front desk when we got our luggages. That is what you call - SERVICE. Very happy with this hotel! Highly recommended this place.

Robes were nice! We really enjoyed the location. Staff was helpful on restaurants and finding our way around.

The staff was fantastic. We ate at the restaurant a few times and service was friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely. A great stay for two nights in downtown Portland. Parking too expensive so we parked at a SmartPark for $10/day rather than the $45 the hotel charges.

The hotel was very classy and clean. I was close to many things and I enjoyed staying there.

Thank you for providing a rating and review, your comments and feedback are appreciated. You will find that the majority of the Boutique Hotels in the Portland area have implemented this fee. We feel like our offerings of a complimentary sipping hour, live jazz, free wifi, and many other perks make this fee a great value. Thank you for your comments and we hope we can host you again in the future.

We are very proud of our legacy and have worked diligently over the years to maintain the beauty and historic ambiance of The Benson, while still providing the modern touches that our guests have requested during their visits. Thank you for providing this feedback. The amenity fee is not a hidden charge as it is clearly stated throughout the Orbitz booking process. You will also find that the majority of boutique hotels in Portland downtown area charge an amenity fee. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about the amenity fee. If you have a moment to visit, please feel free to contact me in The Executive office at your convenience.
