Everything was sticky. Light switches, door frames, door handles. All coated in a light patina of sticky. I really did not want to investigate further as to the cause of the omnipresent stickiness. But I spent my two nights there trying to touch as little as possible. The bathroom was tiny, but clean. The bedding smelled fresh. The room was tiny, which was to be expected. It’s clearly an older property. Rather than modernizing it, attention was spent to “curate an experience”. Perfect hotel for the hipster set. Immediately adjacent to Doug Fir Lounge if that’s your thing. I expected noise. I did not expect to have a hotel room that was effectively inside a concert venue If 90’s pop and top-40 rap is your thing, it’s the perfect getaway.

First off this place is noisy. Stayed on a Saturday night. If your not into the party this place is not for you. The room is awesome but basic. Nice touch with the chalkboard door and the ikeaesk decor. Location is close to everything in the city.

Amazing hotel - with a really fun, lively vibe. Great music all the time, beautiful space and clean rooms. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The room was small, but clean and had everything I needed. Several restaurants in walking distance.

It was an old building and somewhat cramped. The bathroom door was sticky all over...most likely due to paint that hadn't cured properly. The A/C was quite loud. Beds and linens were very comfortable and the bath towels were great. I had to valet my car for two days as there was no parking which is a considerable expense. Had I know this in advance I would not have chosen this hotel. Location is central; easy walking to many places. Paying to move the room to the 'quiet' side is not fair...this was not an option when I booked the room to start with and should have been waived. Staff are friendly. Valet was slow.

Funky place with hip people, walls are thin but it part of the fun.

Had a wonderful stay, very comfortable. Hip and homey. Loved it!

Fantastic place, retro Portland at its finest. We are local and will consider staying again for any reason we need to be in TOWN for a weekend.

The hotel is quite poor as well as area surrounding it.

Third time, still loving this place! Keeps getting better.

I loved staying here, and would stay here again. I would just request a room on the second floor, and not as close to the outside bar. My door was RIGHT outside the bar. So it was kinda loud until 1 am which they warned me about. The wifi was kinda slow. The staff was SUPER helpful, they had parking on site, I didnt use their restaurant but it looked great, easy walking distance to other food and shops. The room was comfy and clean.

I like to stay at hotels that are interesting more than uniform copies of each other, even if that means they're slightly more expensive. However, this one was just kind of annoying. The Doug Fir is great, we couldn't hear the noise from the shows in our room, but the recurring car alarms were terrible. The hotel charged us for parking, but then there was no room in their garage or in the overflow lot that is shared with a theatre. They did remove the parking charge in the morning, but still... I feel like overselling your parking is a no-no. I had to park five blocks away and move my car in the morning for fear of ticket or tow. For the price, I really feel like there could be a tiny coffee maker in the room, even if it was just a "metro on the chill side" accommodation. I kinda felt like the old person at a kids party, even though it seemed like most of the other guests or and employees were in my age bracket.

I loved the modern, space-aged decor in this hotel.

The rooms are not big but the beds are very comfortable. It was quite hot in Portland and the AC worked well! Plenty of food options within walking distance. Downtown is a moderate walk, easy bike ride. The Doug Fir has great breakfasts. The hotel staff was very responsive and pleasant.

Good staff, good location. Make sure you get a deal. This hotel like to over charge.

Great staff. Very accommodating. Easy in and out. Underground secure parking is a big plus!
