I loved staying here, and would stay here again. I would just request a room on the second floor, and not as close to the outside bar. My door was RIGHT outside the bar. So it was kinda loud until 1 am which they warned me about. The wifi was kinda slow. The staff was SUPER helpful, they had parking on site, I didnt use their restaurant but it looked great, easy walking distance to other food and shops. The room was comfy and clean.

I like to stay at hotels that are interesting more than uniform copies of each other, even if that means they're slightly more expensive. However, this one was just kind of annoying. The Doug Fir is great, we couldn't hear the noise from the shows in our room, but the recurring car alarms were terrible. The hotel charged us for parking, but then there was no room in their garage or in the overflow lot that is shared with a theatre. They did remove the parking charge in the morning, but still... I feel like overselling your parking is a no-no. I had to park five blocks away and move my car in the morning for fear of ticket or tow. For the price, I really feel like there could be a tiny coffee maker in the room, even if it was just a "metro on the chill side" accommodation. I kinda felt like the old person at a kids party, even though it seemed like most of the other guests or and employees were in my age bracket.

I loved the modern, space-aged decor in this hotel.

The rooms are not big but the beds are very comfortable. It was quite hot in Portland and the AC worked well! Plenty of food options within walking distance. Downtown is a moderate walk, easy bike ride. The Doug Fir has great breakfasts. The hotel staff was very responsive and pleasant.

Good staff, good location. Make sure you get a deal. This hotel like to over charge.

Great staff. Very accommodating. Easy in and out. Underground secure parking is a big plus!

Fun place to stay. Beautiful landscaping with bamboo being lit up after dark. The rooms are very small but the bed is comfy and rooms are nice and tidy. They have fun little touches like a free Jupiter Hotel condom and the doors are painted with chalkboard paint so that you can express yourself.

on Biz trip - nice hotel, friendly staff, good bar

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the staff are very nice and accomadating. The facility is very run down and the decor is terrible. The bed and pillows need to be replaced. I was afraid to walk on the carpet with bare feet. I ended up going home a day early as being in the room was such an unpleasant experience.

I've stayed here twice for work and now I recommend it to everyone. Will not stay anywhere else.

My wife and I were greeted by the face of our hero, John Lennon. He watched over us as we slept comfortably through the Portland night. Although small, the room had features that endeared it to us. The chalkboard door was a favorite. Comfy bed, good shower, and thirsty towels made the whole experience quite memorable.

My first time in Portland, and what a cute find. This two story jewel is only for the hipsters-at-heart. If you don't like retro rooms, platform beds, great food and music, fantastic staff, and little treats throughout your room - then please don't stay here. Leave it for the "others". I highly recommend this place for a unique experience :-).

Location is good, near lots of eats and drinks. Cool bar and restaurant onsite, Doug Fir. The room had a funky smell. Old school ac wall unit. For the price, very underwhelming.

The staff was really nice! When we got there, the lady at the reception upgraded us to a better room, and she gave us tips on where to go and what to do, even recommended her favorite dounts which were really awesome! The location is really close to downtown, so walking back and forth was easy, and also there's bars and breweries in the area. The hotel bar, Doug Fir is very cozy and nice, with firepits and live music down the basement. It gets really crowded on weekends and the hotel get's a bit loud, so keep that in mind. It was great for us cause we got to party right in our hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable, parking was easy and 24h, overall, great stay.

Great hotel for party-fun but not ideal for business. Rooms are adequate with some fun surprises but don't expect them to be comfortable for lots of time hanging out they're not set up for relaxation per se. If party noise is a concern, ask for the Chill side of the hotel. Note totally quiet but better than above/near Doug Fir lounge and outdoor smoking patio. All rooms surround a main courtyard and are not particularly well-insulated. This is a hotel for purpose - not ideal for families or business. Wifi was slow, lack of sitting options in room, lack of desk or workspace. Great location to so many of Portland's treasures on the East Side.

Love the vibe and the location. The staff id very helpful. The rooms are small, but adequate. WiFi is available but in and out - going 4 G was better. The bed was sad. Been here several times and this time was the first time with a bad bed. Overall a good stay and will be back.

I knew going into this that I was picking a more 'hipster' hotel for the sake of my daughter in our travel for college tours - and I read the reviews and was prepared for more of a 'party' atmosphere that I would prefer. Small, airless room adjacent to a boisterous bar crowd is not my thing. But the AMAZING staff more than made up for that: I've stayed at many finer hotels and never experienced more genuine graciousness than I did from front desk (Brett and Josh?) who gave us great tips and where to go and what to do, and housekeeping (Cindy?).

We had a wonderful stay at the Jupiter Hotel. We plan to go back.

Loved the motel, hotel completely and utterly Portland!

The room had a funny smell when we entered and there was an unopened condom on the night stand provided by the hotel.
