Red Lion Hotel Portland Airport

Having to walk outside in the rain to get to our room is not great. The key to enter the building in the morning would not work.

The room and beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately our room was right across the hall from the maids' work room. I was awoken at 7:00ish by loud voices and laughter that lasted nearly an hour. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and gave us a great dinner suggestion (By Design Pizza). I would definitely stay here again, but I would make sure to be in a different room.

Had a good stay next to the airport so if you're outside you hear the plane's not in the room though. check in and out went without a hitch

My daughter left her wallet in the rental car we had returned and when we got to hotel the shuttle guy said no problem / drove her back to rental car place sadly car was moved to a different location. He helped us track the car and then took her back two hours later to get the wallet / next morning he shuttled us to the airport we were so appreciative of his kindness. The women at the front desk were so very kind assuring us we would get the wallet back before we flew home - hotel in ok shape. Bathtub drain broke - pool was under construction- but great place to stay for an airport hotel. Quiet and roomy

Overall hotel was less than average and dated. Restaurant was dirty staff was pleasant but the place was dirty. The carpet had not been cleaned in years you could see built up dirt and traffic patterns in carpet.

Older hotel but comfortable. The in room coffee pot was not cleaned between guests

The rooms seemed clean and comfortable beds. Had someone noisily check in at midnight next door and let their kids jump around a half hour before going to bed, hallways were a little dingy.

The hotel was very nice but the staff was not very friendly. I don't think the girl that checked us in smiled once and seemed uninterested in answering our questions about the shuttle services.

When we arrived at our room at the end of our last day in Portland, it had not been cleaned at all. We phoned the desk and were told that all they could do was move us (it was 9:30 PM). We said no, and asked for some compensation for our inconvenience. They said that because we had not booked direct with them, there was nothing they could do for us. We asked that the manager call us, but we never heard from him that evening, the next day, or after we returned home. We will not stay at another Red Lion Hotel, and we will never book through Orbitz again.

The carpets were filthy in both the corridor and the room itself. The sheets were so old they were dingy and gray. The condition of the carpeting and bedding made me doubt that anything else was clean. I will not be staying there again.

Real close to the airport, has a rest and lounge. Need renovating, older style with old style furniture. Clean and staff is friendly. Don't know if I would recommend to a friend, one of the cheaper ones near the airport .

comfy bed, but stained pillows and sheets and milky and cold pool. overall ok if not looking for quality.

Old facility, needs painting and ceiling repairs from water damage. Key problems and we were located very far away from front desk. No consideration when requesting closer room on first floor due to medical conditions.

Nothing too special. A place to stay close to airport. Not much around the hotel. Shuttle to airport must be reserved in advance and available spots fill up during peak times.

We had to leave pretty quickly and the Red Lion was right where we needed a place to stay at a reasonable rate. The hotel was within walking distance of a few places to go but the staff did not mention the dinning place right next door.

It was ok place to stay for business. It nice to have a restaurant on site.

For some reason, I can't break out of the routine of staying here when flying into or out of PDX on late/early flights. Guess that's a good thing. At $145 for our last stay though, I'll look a little harder for alternatives next time. My opinion is that in the $110 range, it's a good deal. Consistently clean, good toiletries, comfortable beds and reliable airport shuttle make it my go-to hotel when coming through PDX (until they price it much higher).

The staff person who checked us in was uncommunicative and not friendly. She appeared to be frustrated with the magnetic key machine and stood and without explanation went through perhaps 20 key blanks as she was not able to make it function without success before finally using a different machine with success. Bizarre.

The hotel was average, nothing special. The staff failed to inform us that the pool heater has been broken for weeks and the water is extremely cold, especially on overcast days. In fact I asked about the pool at checkin (have kids, the heated pool was a major part of choosing this hotel) and the staff said it's great. Found out otherwise the next day when we tried it. Went to the restaurant in the hotel and even though there was only 2 tables occupied, the rest were still covered by dishes, food, and garbage from previous customers. We found the only clean table and sat at it waiting for service. After 5 minutes of seeeing no staff we peeked down the hall towards the kitchen. No one to be found. So we left. On our way through the hotel we found the staff standing near the front desk complaining about the air conditioner not working. Overall a terrible experience.

My seventh stay here in the last eight years. Always seems to be the best price with good value whenever I've had a late arrival or early departure at PDX. Room was comfortable, staff was friendly and the shuttle was very efficient. Tried the lounge this time about an hour before closing. It was only staffed by one person and was pretty busy but we got a decent meal at a fair price.
