Be very careful staying at this hotel. The staff is amazing, BUT the location of this hotel is NOT SAFE! there’s homeless people EVERYWHERE, please stay away from this location. We did not even feel safe walking to the corner store
Helpful concierge and reception staff. Pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable - wires could be felt through mattress. Incredibly loud on a Saturday night - could literally feel the room vibrating due to loud music from 11 pm til gone 3 am. Immediate area did not feel entirely safe to walk through. Would not recommend for young families.
Walking in the place smelled super clean. The staff was really friendly.
Enjoyed our stay at the embassy suites. A historical building close to the city center and the Tram line. The building is old but the rooms are well cared for and the staff was very helpful and even comped our parking when our room wasn’t ready at check in. Do note there are multiple homeless encampments nearby which seems to be quite common in downtown portland. But also easy walk to voodoo donuts!
Good location if you are in downtown. Big comfortable rooms . Great breakfast. Friendly personnel.
I was shocked to find we were basically forced to pay $45 to park our vehicle overnight in their parking garage…which was NOT mentioned clearly when I chose this hotel. It was either that or take a chance parking on the street with tons of homeless/sketchy characters hanging about. Had I realized this situation I would have absolutely chosen a different and better location for what we paid between the hotel fees and parking. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean, the room was larger then anticipated, this being the only reason I would consider staying again, though very unlikely. The front desk staff was not overly friendly or helpful at all. She basically just Checked us in and then handed us the keys…we had to ask what our room number was and how to get there among other questions.
The rooms were spacious, the breakfast delicious. The door on our first room would not lock when we exited. Two requests to maintenance: it was still not working so they gave us a different room (but no help moving). In the new room, my card quit working twice. Hmmm....
The property is great. The location is great. The staff is fantastic.
The building was 109 years old and was beautifully maintained. The staff was helpful and extremely friendly.
Rooms were spacious and clean. Appreciated the breakfast and happy hour, great food and kept our other costs down. It is located in an area with a homeless population, but they respected our space and we never felt unsafe.
The property was older (1912) and had kept its feel for early 1900 architecture. They nicely adapted to the times and have everything they should.
Happy
Beautiful hotel with great staff! Need to advertise that parking is $50 per night or include in hotel rate. Quite a shock!
Great big lobby for visiting friends out of the rain. Perfect location by VooDoo Doughnuts, Stumptown Coffee, Waterfront, Chinatown and Powell’s Books -all in a block or two walk! Friendly staff and beautifully clean rooms during Corona. Don’t pay extra for a high floor; view isn’t worth it.
Great suite size. Clean rooms. Nice location. Too bad the pool was closed but glad to be safe.
Friendly helpful staff. Very walkable and close to great food. The breakfast was amazing!
Nice having dining options in the hotel it self, very helpful staff, loved the facility, so much history 1912 building, very clean and updated with all needed amenities. Would highly recommend staying here.
