Portland Suites Airport East

I booked this one only about 4 days out on one of the travel websites where they'd released rooms on a price breakdown that made 'em among the cheapest, and the deal also was helped by applying a 16% coupon from the site. Seems a bit misleading to put the "airport" in the name, as it's well into Gresham on I-84 and I don't know of any airport shuttle (if they have and it's free, they're not promoting very well). I had a car rent, so it was a moot point. Location was good, not too far south of the I-84 exit. There's a 7-Eleven right next door and a Chinese restaurant and an Elmer's within an easy walk. The parking lot looks ample enough, but they could use a foot or more of extra backing space for the spaces near the door...the layout looked a bit narrow and accident-prone, and I used the sidelot near the outside smoking area instead. Room was maid oversights like bloody sheets or whatever, thankfully. TV was nice and had a really good channel selection (multiple HBOs, ESPNs and CMAXes). The indoor pool was really overrun with overenergetic kids on a Saturday night but quiet on Sunday night. I turned on the jacuzzi jets but not much happened...maybe those had been neutered. There was also an internet terminal in the lobby for e-mail checking (helpful) but no print capability. I'm not a morning person and I believe the breakfast ends at 9, but I've long since learned not to get hopes up about hotel-included breakfasts. At this price level you've got individuals and families who'll really tank up and skip lunch (or even dinner), so a stripped-down offering is almost inevitable. I'm a huge fan of Elmer's, anyway, and always try to drop by, but I realize that economics don't allow that for everyone. Overall it was a good stay. It looked like a former chain 3-star cut loose to slowly fade to about a 2-star now, but it still beats Motel 6. If you find a deal and match the expectations to price paid at a lower level, I think it'll come out OK.

We normally do not write reviews, however, we have reached out to this hotel - and have not heard a word back, no apologizes, explanations, anything. We were coming back from Oregon Eclipse covering the event for NY Talk Radio. During our stay, we noticed many small issues - that we would have normally ignored. i.e. our non-smoking room was smoked in heavily etc. However, while getting ready for bed, we pulled back our covers only to find that not only the bed sheets seemed dirty - but there was a blood stain on them. I am attaching you a photo for your reference. We did go to the front desk at that time, and the attendant who was not very surprised simply gave us some new sheets. The next morning while checking out, we informed the person at the counter as to why we have extra sheets in the room - their reaction also was not one of surprise. We find it hard to swallow that a hotel that can charge us over $200 a night could allow this. To add, the +200 a night was not a typical price.. seems they doubled it due to an event close buy... would have been ok with that - but not with the dirty night we had to spend there.

Do not make the mistake we made, this place is HORRIBLE. Dirty as possible, smelly, and it was bad enough that we had to stay for one night there. As we got into the disgusting sheets ( not even clean and all wrinkly) we could hear everything, walls are so bad you can listen to things next door, upstairs and outside the hotel. Also the area is dangerous and the staff is really inexperienced and rude. We called cause we couldn't sleep because the guest upstairs was literally jumping most of the night and they didn't do anything. Worst experience ever.

First we expect eggs and sausage for breakfast, but none. Second the laundry drier doesnt work properly the staff girl said is takes a few load to dry so she recommend to go to laundromat across the street. Third the indoor pool is not heated like they advertise in the web and doesnt look clean. I have 2 kids thats why I chose this place. Fourth sauna is not available anymore. They said its newly renovated but its not. The carpet in the room is dirty. The cart for luggage is only 1 that I saw so we took few trips to the car. The AC is dirty with dusts on the vent. But its very strong both heater and AC.
