My husband and I travel a lot and we are the pickiest people on the planet and our whole trip this past week we stayed in expensive hotels and needed a last minute place for our last night near Portland and found this hotel online. Ice cold air conditioning, the most comfortable beds and we each had the best sleep of our entire vacation. Clean room, TV channel selection great, wonderful water pressure. Coffee delicious in the morning and a wonderful healthy breakfast. Even a business center where I could print out my boarding pass for free. This was an accidental find and this will be a choice of where we stay next year. VERY nice and helpful staff. Everything was perfect. Half the price of other places with the same amenities. Even a free newspaper in the morning.
I would NEVER stay here again. Our two queen room was TINY, with ghetto-looking damage to the walls, door, furniture. There were even giant hand prints on the wall behind the check-in counter. And to top it off, there was NO MAID SERVICE for our second night, so after being gone from 9am to 6:30pm, and being exhausting after a full day of hiking/driving, we had to wait 20 minutes to shower, as there were no clean towels in the room and the trash basket was overflowing. And after driving all day and just wanting to sleep after check-in, the front desk annoyingly calls to see how you’re doing, just as you’re drifting off to sleep. Other hotels would comp or offer a generous discount for just one of these issues, but not this place. The manager hasn’t even bothered to call me now three days out. Despite the modern looking lobby, this is an $85 night motel disguised as as a re-modeled Comfort Inn. Horrendous.

We were attending an Anniversary party in Oregon City with my 91 year old father and since we live in Tacoma, we did not want to drive back the same day. We found this nice spot which was convenient to our destination and close to the freeway to spend the night. I requested that our rooms be close to each other and no steps, please. We were greeted by Nancy at the front desk who was warm and friendly and made sure that our room was on the ground floor near each other. Our rooms were spotless and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We found a wonderful spot to eat right next to the hotel - McMenamin's Pub - had a light meal and walked back to the hotel. The next morning there was breakfast served in a bright sunny breakfast room with the coolest pancake machine I had ever seen, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, and all kinds of cereals including hot oatmeal, yogurts, juice, breads for toast and coffee. We went to Starbuck's to get our coffee because we are coffee snobs but if you are not, the machine works just fine. We spoke with Renee when we checked out and she said that the hotel has recently been remodeled and they put a lot of thought to provide areas for guests to hang out. It shows. Would we stay there again - YES!
The staff from the beginning to the end were extremely friendly. From Check in to me arriving late to breakfast. They still allowed me to grab a few items before picking everything up. Quiet place. Clean rooms. Great service. Will definitely stay here when we return on our next business trip. Conveniently close to everything in Clacakamas shopping.
We were generally pleased with this facility other than it was quite a hike from handicapped parking and the front desk to the location of the elevator...but you can't have elevators located to be convenient for everyone. The rooms we had were not very large but well equipped and clean. The breakfast was Excellent.
I had a single king room for three nights while visiting my daughter. The room was clean and obviously recently renovated. It was well laid out and well lit, with enough outlets for phones and laptops. The bed was quite comfortable and I slept well. It was quite quiet, even with the freeway nearby and there was no noise from the stairs or other rooms. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room, which is really nice when you're eating out and bringing back leftovers. Or just for keeping water in the room. The lobby area is quite pleasant and there are a couple of computers available for guests. The breakfast had the usual fruit, pastries, toasts, coffee, juices, yogurt, pancake maker and the ubiquitous waffle maker. There were also hot items that were replenished regularly, bacon, sausage, eggs and tater tots. No complaints with the selection, even after three days. The real advantage of this motel is that there is so much within walking distance of the motel (including the Clackamas Metro station) that it's quite possible to get by without driving. My daughter came by and we walked to the Mall, out to restaurants, and out to the movies. I had a car but used it a lot less than I had expected. The staff was stellar, absolutely great! Several times I had questions and when they didn't know the answer (like directions), they looked them up. They were very helpful and always very friendly. I will definitely stay there again.
This place was very nice! Staff was accommodating and just all around great. Breakfast was really good as well. Will def stay again/recommend for other people as well. The only thing was parking was a little tricky but that really isnt anyones fault just the way it worked out...
I stayed the night of 3/27 with myself and 2 children age 6 & 8. Check in was smooth, the woman training Blanca, she was great. We had to walk to the other side of the hotel to use the elevator, then halfway back on the second floor to arrive at our room. It was located next to a stairwell so I immediately attempted to call from desk, the plug in for the phone was too big so the cord kept popping out, I used my cellphone instead. I called the front desk to see if there was another room that is NOT by stairs or an elevator. “We have one on the first floor”. I replied “I don’t want one on the first floor, as you saw when I checked in it was myself and 2 small children, do you have one on the second floor?” The front desk attendant “uhm, ok, so where do you want to be exactly?” “It’s my first time staying here, I just requested to not be by an elevator or stairs and please be off the first floor”. They found a room so we made the treck back to the front desk. Rather than having the keys ready, I walk up and the girl won’t even look at me although she hears me and keeps clicking the computer, “hi, I’m here to get the keys for my new room, mine was 218”, I had assumed I was speaking to Blanca and maybe she was unaware, she replies “ya, I’m getting you switched over” still not looking at me very monotone and dry. Her body language was clear that I was inconveniencing her although no other customers were present. She was training Blanca. I get my keys and am told my room is going to be down a different hall and the opposite side of the building, after reading signs and getting on the elevator the room is actually very close to the front desk but on the 2nd floor. Me and my children change in the room after a long drive and leave so they can play at Dave and Busters. We get back at midnight which they quickly fall asleep. I woke up in a panic in the middle of the night because I smelled vomit, I feared one of my children had vomit in their sleep (choking hazard). After investigating the bed was clean. When I try to go back to sleep the stangnant air was heavy with moldy/mildew smell, I had to ignore it because my kids were asleep. In the morning my son was looking for his glasses which were on the bookcase, as I use my flashlight and look on the floor next to the bookcase I find the vomit smell, old vomit from the last person before me that was not cleaned up. Before departing a hotel (I do travel work so I stay in hotels a lot) I check all the sheets and pillows before leaving. When I flipped the pillows I found the mildew smell, it was on the back of the pillow cases. Housekeeping had strategically placed the pillows mildew/mold stain down and white side up, unless they molded because they were placed there wet for an extended amount of time. I got the kids to check out. When I told the front desk attendant with short red hair she asked if I called to complain last night, I told her my kids were already asleep, how was I going to carry to big kids to a new room. She said a manager would contact me. They never did, no voicemail. Upon arrival I did a bed check under the mattress and no bed bugs, I also pulled he sheets to look for bugs or red dot stains and didn’t see any.... so at least I didn’t go home with bugs. Room 209 was gross. For what I paid I understand there may be dings in the furniture, the carpets might have stains and I understand that the bed may not be the most comfortable. But the LEAST a hotel can do, is clean their best before the next person arrives and be polite. I used to manage a hotel myself, I get the struggles. I hope people avoid this place. Disgusting stay.
Spent 3 nights at the Clarion, rooms are clean and appears recently remodeled. There are gaps between the doors and threshold allowing unwanted light into the room. The walls are thin if you are neat a loud room or stairwells, since the elevators are awkwardly positioned at the far end away from front desk. They offer free breakfast which is nice but the variety is slim with no rotations like others I have stayed at.
