This is a nice, modern Springhill Suites. Be advised that it's immediately adjacent to railroad tracks, and trains do rumble through periodically day and night. They blow their whistles too. We had a good experience here. Hotel is set across the street from a bike/walking path by the river.

Great location for this quiet modern hotel. Loved having running trail right in front of the hotel. Close walk to restaurants and coffee shops. Decent breakfast but could use more fresh fruit options. Only down side is steep daily parking fee.

We stayed here because it was within walking distance to a gala we were attending. It was fair - nothing fancy. The front desk staff didn't seem too knowledgeable. At check in, my husband inquired about an upgrade and the attendant said that all their rooms were suites so that is pretty much an upgrade. I'm confident the hotel has upgraded suites - which we were willing to pay to book. We also requested a room on a high floor. We were given a fourth floor room on a hotel with 6 floors. Also, when we inquired about the shuttle, we were told they only had a driver for it in the afternoon. We weren't impressed and probably would not stay here again.

Check-in was fair. Two female staff, one smiling (and happy) while checking guests in; the other not so much. Third male staff member arrives and starts a 2nd check-in line. No smile, and not very welcoming. The smiling/happy gal continued to be pleasant with another person while the male checked started to check me in. He then told me our room would be ready in 15 minutes or so. I returned in 25 minutes, and the smiling/happy gal continued her positive attitude. She was pleasant and informative. She was the first and only impression that was left. The room was clean and comfortable; albeit the housekeeping staff had the A/C set to hang meat! The bathroom and beds were prepared as expected, so we were comfortable for our quick business trip. Despite having Steelers game fans and roller derby teams staying there, the hallways stayed reasonably quiet. Noise from the city streets was annoying even on the 5th floor. Made me wonder if the construction planners chose the wrong windows or skimped on insulation. The following morning I encountered 5 employees in about 15 minutes; and I said hello to each one of them. Rule #1 in hospitality is to engage guests when you are in range of them; which not one of their team did on Monday morning (except the 6th front desk person at check out). If I spent 2 days with their team, I'd show them how to improve their customer service to the level that Marriott expects. Your team needs help if you expect to survive in the hospitality marketplace.

This hotel is very clean and updated. We stayed one night with our kids, and they used the pool (typical small size, in the lower level). The front desk staff was polite and helpful at check in but that's it. They watched us walk with our kids in their swim suits through the lobby looking for the pool. Another guest in the food area actually spoke up and directed us to the lower level for the pool. The staff just watched us. They also were not friendly upon our departure the next morning watching us walk directly in front of them obviously leaving without saying a word. There is a train track right beside the hotel and the train came through in the middle of the night (obviously not the fault of the hotel). Again the property is clean and modern but don't expect an overtly friendly staff!

My son was getting married at a nearby venue. We decided to use this hotel for guests as they had free shuttle service from the hotel to the venue. So we waited in line for the shuttle to the venue. The driver came back from a run, sees us standing there, goes to walk back into the hotel. When we said we needed a ride, he huffed and got back in the van. My mother had a wheelchair, and he did NOTHING to help us. Then he complained of not feeling well. Other guests told me that he recently broke up with his girlfriend. So fast forward to the end of the wedding (which was at 10pm). We call to get the shuttle, and guess what? The driver went home sick, and they offer NO OTHER HELP! So we were stranded! Some of our guests called Uber, some walked (which was about a 15 minute walk), and some were just begging people they didn't know to drive them to the hotel. If you know you are having a wedding party stay at your hotel and you know you just shuttled a ton of people to the venue, then why the heck wouldn't you have a backup driver? So when I checked out, I asked to talk to the manager. The woman checking me out said she was the manager. I explained the situation and she very coldly told me that the driver had a family emergency. Then there was a long pause, and with no emotion tells me that she credited $25 off my bill and credited the parking fee. My purpose wasn't to get money off my bill (as they should have credited EVERYONE who was affected). My purpose was to bring attention to the problem, so this doesn't happen to anyone else. Thank goodness I knew someone and was able to hitch a ride but not everyone was that lucky. It's HORRIBLE customer service and I would NOT recommend wedding parties to stay here if you are depending on the shuttle service. I was so embarrassed for our guests that came all the way for this wedding and spent a TON of money at this hotel (it's not cheap).

I was excited to stay in this well situated hotel in Pittsburgh! My family of four arrived at 9 pm on a Wednesday night. We were given a room on the top door right next to the elevator. I heard the elevator all night and got a terrible night sleep. I don't know why we were given such a noisy room next to the elevator when the hotel was not full. I could tell it wasn't full because the parking lot was mostly empty and also because the breakfast was not crowded at all. Despite their being four front desk and lobby workers on duty in the morning at 9 am, the coffee station was infested with fruit flies and the hot breakfast food - mainly the sausage - was ice cold. The only positive part of my stay was a warm goodbye given to me as I walked out with my luggage.

Best customer service! The hotel is super clean! Called ahead and explained I had a 6month old baby and needed a quite room away from ppl and the train! They helped us with every question and request we needed! Switching to these hotels from now on! Room was huge and nicely decorated! Soooo impressed and it was way cheaper than other "high end" hotels with horrible customer service in the area!

This hotel is very nice and has spacious rooms. The staff is very nice and the location is ideal. The decor of the hotel and rooms are beautiful and clean. The bed was comfy also. This hotel has parking on site and nice view from our room. The hotel lobby is very large and has many amenities.

This hotel is in a great location. We arrived early at 130pm and was told there wasn't any room available. No problem as I work in the hotel industry but I did call the day before to inform them I would be coming around that time and they informed me that would not be a problem at all. Also as I walked away another guest walked up and was checked right in. I get the room types and things like that but I don't really think he knew what he was doing at the front desk. I also had a Mobile check in as well. Other than that I did not speak to any other staff member for the rest of my stay. Breakfast was good. Our room was clean and nice and view was great. Would stay again.
