We chose this hotel as it was close to the Reds Spring Training facility. It seems to be very recently built, clean and well kept. It had a nicely equipped gym, outdoor pool with hot tub, and an outdoor grill if you want to bbq. Breakfast was good, it had eggs, sausage, breads, yoghurt and they even had soy milk to go with your cereal! The lobby had coffee and tea all day and plenty of citrus water. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was cozy and comfortable with a full size fridge, small stovetop, dishwasher, toaster, utensils, super huge closet with a laundry hamper, couch, and king size bed. I’m not sure if all floors had this but we were on the 2nd floor in 212 and I noticed a communal lounge area with TV that you could potentially entertain people if you didn’t want to be in your room. It was less than 5 minutes to Goodyear Park and you could drive 10 minutes to shopping and restaurants, not a walkable place yet. There is a lot of development going on so maybe in the future there will be walking distance amenities. I really liked this hotel and would definitely stay again.
Clean and new and very well kept. Great large rooms. Best closet organizers in any hotel! Front desk staff exceedingly helpful and friendly. Great amount of parking. Nice breakfast. Clean pool! Near food selection of restaurants.
I was sent to Goodyear on business and chose the Townplace Suites based entirely on location. Some of the reviews I read were not very pleasant in terms of rowdy folks raising cane late into the early mornings. I experienced none of that and was there from a Thursday to the following Thursday. The Good Stuff... Free breakfast was wonderful and had eggs, meat, oatmeal, baked items, waffles, milk and juices, etc. It was available from 0600 every morning. Everything was hot and the attendant was very outgoing and welcoming. Housekeeping was fantastic, the room was very clean, television had enough free channels available, full size refrigerator, cooktop, pots, pans, silverware, plates, glasses and mugs supplied, microwave, tons of storage, AC held 70 degrees with ease. Lobby was small but welcoming, staff was very friendly and responsive. Exercise room was nice, pool and hot tub were in great condition. Bed was comfy, couch and chairs were great too. Water pressure was ok and the hot water got hot quickly. Parking was near to the room. There are so many food choices within a 3 minute drive that the hardest part is deciding which. Over 7 days I had 7 different lunches and dinners at 7 different places and each were exactly what I hoped for. The not so good stuff... 2 times I got back to the room near and after 5 PM and housekeeping had not even started yet. I ran out of Kleenex once and toilet paper once. They were promptly replaced and the staff was very apologetic. Over the weekend the breakfast was not ready at 0600 and we had to wait just 15 minutes but it was good. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and will book this hotel again.
I stayed in this hotel 3 weeks in a row, checking out the end of each week. Each week I had a new lesson in pain. The first week, they gave me the wrong room and tried to charge me for the upgraded room. Took almost an hour to get corrected. The next week, I did not receive housekeeping for 4 days. Each evening I would speak with the front desk and they assured me it would be cleaned the next day. I also had to search for soap and coffee every night! I notified Marriott of these issues and the next time I checked in the manager accosted me and told me there must be something wrong with the Concur system as my rooms were correct. She also told me that according to housekeeping my room was cleaned everyday with the exception of one day (a do not disturb sign was on the door). There was never a do not disturb sign on the door. There was no arguing with the manager as she stated I was incorrect! Also during this check in they tried to give me the wrong room. I showed them my confirmation from Concur and they said that Concur was wrong. I took whatever room was available just to get away from the manager! During my stay the AC compressor made a loud and horrible noise. I called the front desk and was told that no one was available to fix it and to just turn the AC off! Really, turn off the AC in the desert! No one came to fix the problem the next day and I called again with the same response. Finally I called Marriott Gold support. in response to my issues they gave me points; which was great, but unsure I can stay at this hotel again!
If you stay here, beware that the female manager, had a business card and I meant to put on her name here but lost it, she will not care to reach out to you if you slip and fall at the hotel. I was happy to relocate to this hotel after the one I was originally placed in with my company was disgusting. Unfortunately, it was during monsoon season and there was so much rain that came down that it went through the building and puddled on the floor to the 2nd entrance of the lobby from outside. After checking in, I went to exit to bring my belongings in. As I exited the lobby into the entrance corridor, I slipped on a puddle. The lady at the front desk witnessed it and so did another guest staying there. No major injuries but I did state I was sore and the front desk lady asked me to fill out an incident form to cover both parties; me and the property. So I did. The next day, did ANYONE in management reach out to me to ask if I was OK and check in with me? Absolutely not. No one seemed to care. Hopefully, if anyone else stays at this property and has a similar situation, MANAGEMENT can show compassion about the wellbeing of the guests staying at their property to reach out to the guest(s) that had the incident while staying on your property. It is a courtesy and simple human kindness to check on your guests. Room was great! Studio style Large couch Flatscreen TV Great comfortable bed. Nice bathroom Great for business stay Good for families with kids
I was visiting my daughter in the area and she requested some of her favorite foods from childhood. This place had everything I could ask for, from pots n pans to dishes n silverware. It was such a GREAT location, everything was within minutes , there was even an awesome little Mexican restaurant, nail salon & convenience store just steps away. The room was spotless, quiet, and all in perfect working condition. The staff were wonderful & helpful, especially Katherine in the Breakfast area. The pool was clean & well stocked with towels. I used to stay at another hotel when visiting but will only stay here whenever I'm in the area again. You guys are doing a great job! Thanks so much : )
My dad, brother and I visited the Towneplace Suites for the Final Four. Being a hotelier I was shocked that when we checked in after check in time we did not have a room reserved who was a Platinum Elite member and 10 nights from a Lifetime was not even acknowledged or had a room ready. We were told they were busy from the night before. Breakfast was subpar but complimentary. This seems to be a new Hotel but our top drawer in our room pulled right out of the cabinetry when we were checking in. This Hotel is a great location but needs some polishing around the edges.
If you're traveling East or West and just need to stop this is a good location. The breakfast options are very limited to continental but there's a Cracker Barrel down the street or a few local options within 3 miles. The rooms are clean and appropriately sized for business travel. Any more than 2 people may be a challenge.
Stayed here with my wife and son in late February. As others advised, the lobby is more of just a desk and not much else. Kind of oddly positioned on the property, but no issue. The place had a fantastic pool that they kept very warm. We were able to use it even when the weather was not really warm. That was awesome. Now the bad - many of the people that stay here stay for weeks and months at a time. They begin to think of the place as their home and not considerate of others around them. We stayed on a Saturday & Sunday night. Saturday night the guy next to us was playing his Spanish music at 10000 decibels all evening. They obviously were having some sort of party next to us. Okay, no problem - it's Saturday night. Well, by 1:00 in the morning I called the desk. The guy said "Yeah, I heard that as I was making the rounds a few times - I'll let them know to shut it down". Well, he obviously did this - but the guy continued screaming and yelling until at least 3:45 in the morning. He was obviously drunk or on some drugs. Staff did nothing beyond tell him to shut the loud music off. I complained in the morning, and didn't hear anything Sunday night. Regardless, not something I'd expect from a Marriott property.
Great location for any Tribe fan out there...less than 10 minutes from the ballpark, whether you are an Indians fan or a Reds fan. Close to many restaurants and shops as well. located right off the 10 Freeway.
