The Wigwam

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I'm a Arizona native that recently moved to San Diego. My family and I recently returned to AZ to visit our family for Easter. I booked a four night stay at the Wigwam to be close to our family that lived in the area. The resort is beautiful but I was quickly disappointed once I got to my room. The faucet was broken and the tub had black stains. The beds were extremely uncomfortable with no support. On the second night all of our backs hurt and upon inspection of the mattress I could understand why. The sides of the mattress were bowing outwards leaving that sinking feeling in the middle of the mattress. The high nightly rate that I was charged is not worth staying at this resort. I'm very disappointed and will stay at another resort in Scottsdale for the amount I paid.

Overall fantastic experience. Beautiful, quiet resort. Had a fun time in the pool. Played on the nice tennis courts. The room was clean and spacious. Friendly, helpful staff. Close to lots of other restaurants and shopping. Didn't really love the soft, bouncy bed.

Hhidden paradise wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy all that it offered

Our stay was excellent. The rooms are large and comfortable. The only lacking item was a microwave.

The resort was overall nice, but we ran into some minor problems which were just a little annoying. The first night our shower didn't have any hot water. It was already late so we just waited til morning to have it addressed, which they did send a maintenance worker right away, but he mentioned it was a temporary fix. Next, although we thought Arizona would be mostly warm, it was freezing, so we needed to turn on the heater. It took probably an entire day before the room felt warm and then all the other days after it would go on and off and I would still wake up in the middle of the night because it was so cold! Even though it was cold, the sun was warm enough for lying around near the pools on the resort, but they didn't stock any towels at the Oasis pool and when they brought some, they only brought 5 when there were quite a few people there using the pool. Lastly, a couple hours after I had checked out in the morning, I checked the bill they sent to my email and I saw they had overcharged me on someone else's room upgrades, room service, and movies. I went back to the front desk to get it straightened out, which at first it took some explaining so I had a feeling they were going to give me trouble about the situation but they realized it was their mistake and sent me a refund. Then the manager was nice enough to track us down at dinner at Litchfield's (the hotel's steakhouse) [we mentioned we were going there afterwards] and she gave us a complimentary appetizer voucher.

Pricey but great resort. Nice grounds and incredible fitness center. Did not play golf but have heard good things. Old school casita feel with a great bar and restaurant.

Can’t say anything bad about our experience. Staff was amazing and the rooms were more then what we expected.

The property and grounds are beautiful! It's a great place to getaway and relax. Our room had some wear and tear and that would be the only negative comment I have.

What a great place! Beautiful grounds, comfortable accommodations and great staff!!

What a great place for a relaxing vacation. We hung at the "smaller" pool away from the families with kids that go to the water slide pool. Spacious rooms, quiet, great pool and jacuzzi. The main restaurant menu looks fantastic, but we decided to eat at the sports bar and were not disappointed -- found a quiet spot by eating outside next to the misters. Fish tacos were excellent appetizer.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, stayed through Tuesday afternoon. When we arrived on Sunday, all pools were open, bars, snack bars etc. When we went to adult pool on Monday morning, it was a complete mess, dirty towels from the weekend piled up, along with beer cans etc Also no clean pool towels available.. No clear sign to state that that bar/snack area was closed during the weekday, The pool itself was nice, needed to be skimmed of leaves but ok. Asked the front desk about the condition of the pool area, and stated they would send housekeeping (?) to clean it up. No one ever arrived. Disappointed that my mini vacation was not as important to others who apparently had the weekend off, not sure if I will return, this is my second time here, and loved it the first time. They did allow us to extend our check out time on Tuesday but still....

Very nice hotel. Me and my wife both liked very much.

We chose this hotel because of the excellent price compared to resorts in Scottsdale. Also because they have an adults only pool on weekends during the summer. We loved it!!! So nice and quiet. The hotel staff is amazing and eager and quick to please. Be sure to use the onsite, complimentary shuttle service to their restaurants, spa, golf, anything onsite. Wish we had known about it the first evening as parking and navigating can be confusing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and ice cold. Food and drinks are fairly priced and very tasty. The hotel needs a little TLC but we enjoyed every aspect of it anyways.

Stayed for 2 days and room swarming with mosquitoes . Walked away with 87 bites.

Great resort well maintained friendly staff .... will return.

First time ever that I had to pay for a fee for a service I did not use!! $28.00 for business center, wifi internet, spa and something else. Not nice!

Great dinner at Lichfields restaurant. We had fun dancing on the lawn in the evenings with the great outside band venue.

I've been coming here for years and always have great service. From checking in to room service and even down at the pool everyone is so welcoming and always with a smile on their face. I recommend this place to everyone!

Stayed overnight for a Wedding reception although the hotel is a little older it is well-maintained and the staff is great

This is the second year we have decided to stay at the Wigwam. We had such a great time last year, we rebooked. All of the staff is so friendly. Everyone was so nice, always greeting us with a smile...housekeeping, hotel staff, ground maintenance, pool maintenance, water aerobic instructor, country club members, gift shop, etc. We absolutely loved our stay. When we accidentally missed our flight, the staff was so accommodating. My only disappointment is that our room was directly across from the bathroom at the Oasis pool. We got to see everyone that needed to use it from staff to vacationers. Needless to say, we didn't have a view of the pool that we had last year. We plan to return next year, but I maybe alittle more specific on where we would like to stay.
