This resort is family-friendly. The staff arranged our villas near one another and we were merely 20 yards from a pool. The villas were spacious and offered a pretty complete kitchen. The activity schedule intrigued my 4-year-old grandson (we loved painting the desert scene) and he used the water slide no less than 90 times. The adults enjoyed the coffee shop and we ate at the restaurant several times. This resort was success for our family.
We chose this resort thanks to all of the reviews I read online and they did not disappoint me! The rooms are fantastic, very very clean and there is plenty of room. We took our family for one week and have not stayed anywhere to date we enjoyed this much! The pools were great! The children’s pool is not deep and they have life guards on duty! Huge bonus! We rented a car and there is plenty to do for a family that is within 30 minutes or less. We packed our own pillows due to the other recent reviews on pillows (I do not agree with the reviews on them being too hard). The on-site restaurant was not horrible but I wouldnt go back there unless I was starving. It is very quiet in the rooms and having two balconies was a huge bonus! The staff are friendly and helpful with advice on what to do in Scottsdale. Overall this is a have to stay resort and we will be back soon!!!
Resort was very nice with good staff. Accommodations were great, pool was beautiful and big. Breakfast was a good surprise with a great host One of the best resorts that we have stayed at. GPS guidance was not good..
First, I want to note that the accommodations are spacious and there’s a washer/dryer in the room which is great. Also, you don’t have the oppressive resort fees that some of the other hotels in the area are known for. That said, there a few things to note before booking at this location! Check-in isn’t until 4:00 and check-out is at 10:00 which a full two hours less than the industry standard (being a gold member doesn’t provide an optional late check-out like most Holiday Inn locations). Also, if you book on the app it takes at least thirty minutes for your reservation to show up in their system which the front desk was curt/ bordering on rude about. We stayed on a Friday night and at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday the grounds maintenance crew blasted a leaf blower right outside our room for 15 minutes. It wasn’t just loud- it was so loud my head started hurting. Since relaxing in bed wasn’t an option, my husband picked up breakfast at the on site market while I packed. I really did not think a bagel could be so bad that it’s inedible but this one was (neither one of us could get past the first bite). We were traveling as a couple and already had plans for the evening so some of the amenities that make the property attractive for families and long term stays didn’t apply to us but it still feels like they have some improvements to make where the guest experience is concerned! I will not return to this location if it’s just the two of us trying to enjoy a leisurely weekend.
I stayed for a week and reported several times that there was no hot water in the master suite. I only saw a person one time who just stood in the doorway of the Villa and informed me that my villa was far from the hot water heaters and I needed to let it run for awhile to get out the cold water from the line. 1. It's Phoenix and it was 100 outside. The water is not cold! 2. More than once I said there was hot water in every other tap of the Villa. 3. I let the water run for an hour;checking it every five minutes. There was no hot water in that shower! I will never stay here again. I paid alot of money to not be able to enjoy the upgrades that I paid for.
Seemed recently renovated. Spacious common area and rooms. 2-3 minute walk to Fairmont. Try to avoid basement rooms which have no light. Hotel staff wasn't very accommodating on simple requests at checkin when they had issue with their credit card scanner.
We had a party of 9, 2 children and 7 adults, with 2 units. Our overall experience was very good.We rent a car so there is plenty to do. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I didn't try the restaurant there but my wife enjoyed it. Everyone enjoyed the pools, although the one pool needed cleaned from all the debris dropping from the palms. We love the full kitchen and the washer/dryer. All-in all we were all very satisfied and enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Club. We normally stay at the nearby Sheraton Desert Oasis. We love that. This is our first time at a Holiday Inn Club but we were satisfied. Scottsdale is a beautiful area. How could you not enjoy it??
We are pretty pretentious people and really particular about our hotels. This place was great because the price was reasonable and the Signature rooms were spectacular. The kitchen and bathroom decor was how we would design our own home and the amenities were pretty great. We had the best vacation and will definitely be back!
We exchanged through Holiday Inn Vacation Club and were very pleased with our accommodations. I was glad I had read others' reviews before we(my husband and myself) went as many reviewers had mentioned the noise from neighbors. When we arrived at the resort, we requested a third floor room, which we were given and it was an end room as well so we only had one neighbor beside us and a family below....and I agree with the other reviewers-we could hear their TV's, doors opening and closing, their footsteps, etc. We always bring a sound machine when we travel(you could buy them at Walmart for about $20) and it did well to block out some of the noise. There is not much traffic in the front of the resort as it is a dead-end road, but there is quite a bit in the back, due to other resorts and apartments. Overall, not much street noise to contend with. Also, if you like it dark to sleep, the drapes are definitely room darkening. The unit we stayed in was beautiful. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms which are separated by the kitchen so each is very private. Both bedrooms have a balcony and the master bedroom shares a balcony with the living room. The master has a king bed and the other has a queen. The dining room table would easily sit 8 and the breakfast bar has another 4 seats. The living room has a flat screen TV(one in each bedroom as well) and a couch with 2 chairs. All in all, open living space with plenty of room for a large family. The resort has 4 pools, each with a hot tub. They are situated so that 3 to 4 buildings share one pool so that none is that crowded. The Splash Canyon pool is where most families hang out, as there is a huge water slide and other playthings for children, so we stuck to the Serenity Pool which was close to our room. There are pool towels in the room to bring to the pool, but don't expect thick, plush , long beach towels. These towels may be a bit longer than the shower towels, but they are not the same quality. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the sheets and coverings were soft and of good quality. The air conditioner worked well and was loud enough to drown out some outside noises. The condo had a full kitchen and everything worked well from the blender to the oven. There is an ice maker in the fridge which saved us a trip to the ice machine. There were many activities scheduled throughout the week, but most were for kids/families so we spent the majority of our time sightseeing. Very easy to get to tourist sites as the resort is close to the 101 loop that takes you around the Phoenix area.
When entering the resort, I was underwhelmed with the lobby. I am spoiled and have been an owner of our now Holiday Inn Club Vacation properties , Lake Geneva, Wi., and Orange Lake, Fl. for over 25 years, I realized the pools and entrance shot on the website was taken with a very wide angle lens. Got to the room and I immediately bee line to the balconies.. there were two, One faced the parking lot and I thought . okay, the other side clearly will have a view. Nope, a wall... now keep in mind I am spoiled and have certain expectations, which this was not close..At Lake Geneva we will over a golf course.. at Orange Lake we look over River Island. I called the front desk and was told we could move but all the other rooms we could have faced the parking lot and the pool. We didn't move and call it chewing off my nose to spite my face, or whatever that old saying is.. I decided to stay, Now you might say, well then it is your own fault for not moving, and I would agree with you , I have been in the hospitality industry for 45 years and this is how I think: I have been an owner for this long. This is my first visit here, and also a slow time.. Why wouldn't they want to WOW the owner Give us an awesome room with a view of maybe the 'waterfall pool', Casita 1, 2 or 3 (make a note of those buildings for a request when you book) which is lovelier then the wall we looked at. I don't understand that thinking, or not thinking that you wouldn't want to impress your owners so they come back. Okay, then I got over it. The room is spacious, we went for a two bedroom for two of us.. I like the extra room to move around. Int he small hallway near the second bedroom was a ceiling vent for the A/C that was extremely loud and there is no way someone in that second bedroom could sleep through that , I am glad I didn't invite anyone. Seriously loud, The rest of the room was nicely and obviously rehabbed and enough electrical outlets for everyone to charge their crap. Even tho we try to unplug, we like to know what's happening at work and just what's happening.. It is extremely clean and well maintained, The grounds are immaculate as are the four pools. Now before I start on the pools.. the music was great! Music is a huge part of my life and when I travel I look for the speakers at the pools to be close to them. The speakers were clear sounding and the music was a great mix for the pools. They all played the same music, Kudos to whoever chooses the music. We tried out all the pools: Serenity Pool was just that.. more adult Waterfall Pool was nice with the sound of the water and an older crowd Social Pool didn't have a lot of lounge chairs and mostly tables and chairs Splash Pool with all the kid's stuff was actually our choice. They say for happiness you should spend your time with those under 6 and over 70! I have the over 70 on a daily basis with my husband.. the under 6 fix was at this pool. The nice part is there are two lifeguards so they keep the kids not only alive, but keep them from running around. The other pools felt too old for us.. We do not feel our ages to sit around with a box of triscuits. We did not check out the restaurant at all. Found a cute breakfast place nearby called NCounter in the Scottsdale 101 mall. Best waffles I have had. Have lunch at Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers, close by. ASk for Sammie. That's it.. any questions, let me know !
