Stayed here for one night with my Boyfriend last month for a day out in Norwich. Very Beautiful Hotel with periodic features. Our room was a standard double but was absolutely huge! Nice big comfy bed and massive bathroom. Everything was very clean and worked just fine. Perfect location being a 10 minute walk from the train station and a few minutes walk to the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff, would stay again if in the area.

Great location next to the cathedral four mins walk to the centre of town The room was spotless and a good size, all staff Very helpfull, food in hotel was VERY good 9/10 plenty of free parking to rear of hotel. VERY GOOD STAY Overall 10/10

Booked an afternoon tea for two. We were welcomed by the front of house and shown to a lovely table in relaxed lounge area on comfy sofa. Table set with flowers. The table had a buzzer to press when we needed a top of of tea or anything else. We were brought a layered stand with three types of sandwich, cheese scone, filled wrap, savoury profiteroles and fruit scones with jam and cream. Additionally there was another plate with four different homemade desserts each. It looked and tasted amazing. We were totally spoiled and had at least three top ups of tea. We both felt very special.

It has been years since we have been in the Maids Head Hotel and oh my goodness it is beautiful inside not how we remember it at all! Very nicely refurbished at some point. We were celebrating a birthday today and came just for a light lunch. We had booked the area in front of the fireplace and it really was a beautiful setting, with nice chairs/sofas etc. Our waiter was extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We only wanted a light lunch so we all ordered a sandwich of some kind. Our sandwiches were presented nicely with some crisps in a small bowl and a beautiful looking and very tasty salad. The pulled beef and cheese was delcious but the bread! What on earth! It was like it was just a very cheap supermarket cut loaf. Extremely disappointed it wasn't better bread. Most of our party had opted for brown which looked a lot better than the white. For this this was a massive let down. This needs to be addressed. I noticed on the children's menu that you even make your own ice cream and we had some little mini cakes afterwards which were superb so cannot understand why you don't go to the same trouble with making bread or at least buying much better quality loaf. Other than that it was all amazing. The children's meals were fantastic quality and quantity and to add a pudding for an extra £1 made it, in my eyes extremely good value. Please sort the bread out, it really did let it down and other than it was amazing.

I stayed at the Maids Head for one week in May for business. I stayed in a double room which had free wifi and an ipad in the room to browse the internet and order room service/laundry services etc. The staff were incredibly friendly, and couldn't do enough to help. The room was huuuuuuge, though did only look onto the car park. The hotel is really close to shops and restaurants but my room wasn't noisy at all from traffic etc. Overall, a great stay, & I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent hotel, staff friendly the rooms are clean and comfortable with a large bathroom, breakfast 1st class, the location is next to the cathedral within walking distance to the castle and centre of town, also the added bonus is having a car park.

I stayed here with my daughter as we were visiting the University. The room itself was fairly small but was really warm, clean and cosy and had everything that we needed. The hotel is close to the shops and restaurants and is an ideal location from which to explore this gorgeous city. The staff were really polite and helpful and the breakfast was great. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening but the menu looked good. The hotel has been sensitively refurbished and due to its great age has quite a quirky feel. I'm really fussy but I would definitely recommend staying here. I'm looking forward to coming back in the autumn!

Had a one night stay, which included the murder mystery event and was wonderful,a rather great idea , brilliant evening ,well thought out having a troop of actors doing a murder mystery before, plus in between a lovely three course meal ,which also included all us dinners, with a small prize for the winner who got it right,if they have another ,recommend to all. But I think the actors should be provided with a sound system as trying to hear them was sometimes a bit difficult,as some of the other dinner where talking at the same time. The hotel is a lovely place to stay, service, food plus staff excellent, the prices was average, not expensive on par with most places of the same quality,Norwich is a very nice city to visit a good balance of oldie Worley and new, would recommend staying here when visiting Norwich.

what at great find this hotel is. Not only is it right on the edge of the shops, the castle and all the nightlife but is a very luxurious hotel in which all the staff are so polite and friendly but most importantly our room was exactly as the picture was displayed. we treated ourselves and stayed in the Filby suite on sat April 22nd and wow what a room, the hotel is currently refurbing it's suites and they are being completed to a very high standard but retaining the original features of this historic hotel, breakfast was very good and with it being all you can eat sets you up for the rest of the day, although the cream teas in the afternoon are yet another way to relax and enjoy the hotels ambiance, the hotels free car park is also yet another plus. we will definitely be returning and booking the same suite.

today I had my first experience of this hotel - sadly not staying but as a day visitor attending a training course. the staff were excellent - polite friendly helpful - couldnt ask for more. training facilities were very good and food at lunch excellent. The areas of the hotel that i did see - reception, lounge, bar, restaurant, cloakrooms and training room called Minstrel were all well decorated and very very clean. I was so sorry that i wasnt staying there - but I will one day - thanks to all the staff you are a credit to the Hotel.
