Lancaster Gate Hotel

Recent guest reviews

Price is lower than others making this hotel a good value. It is inbetween two tube stops so it is a 5 or 6 block walk to the central line tube stations. The morning breakfast buffet is a fair value at 12 pounds per person if you are hungry and wish to eat a full meal. Expect the room furnishings to be decently comfortable budget furnishings with modest wear. Safe neighborhood with many restaurant options near the Queensgate tube stop.

Good location, close to Kensington Gardens and tube. Helpful staff; clean and generally well kept. Breakfast was good but same everyday; lack of variety became monotonous over several days. Mattress in room was old and uncomfortable (could feel springs).

Friendly, helpful staff. Great Breakfast (worth the extra money) Room nice - clean - but could have been larger (two people spreading their stuff out for a week could use more space) Will stay there again

Great location. Close to underground. Clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is old but has been well maintained. The rooms have very deep bathtubs which would make getting in and out of the shower a little difficult for an older person. All in all we couldn't have asked for more. Not fancy but quite comfortable. It is across the street from Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. The hotel is located within easy access of bus service to all points of interest.

As a 31 year old with no kids, I can survive on little/not good sleep, which was lucky because the walls are paper thin (I could hear my neighbors when they were just talking.) and the beds are super uncomfortable (I felt every spring). Besides that, it felt super safe, the staff were all lovely and helpful, and it's in a great location. (Didn't eat there at all, it was too expensive and there is great food not even a few blocks away.) I would go back if I were to travel to London in the next year or so but not anymore than that if nothing is upgraded. After a week of sleeping on the bed, I did feel my body starting to get sore and the last night before I had to get up for an early flight the people in the room next to us were up talking until 1 am, which we could hear and kept us from sleeping. Pros: -Great location (near tube, loads of buses, plenty of great restaurants) -Friendly/helpful staff -Clean (it looks run down a bit, but still not dirty) Cons: -Expensive food (just go out somewhere else!) -Thin walls (can hear everything people in the next rooms/hallway do) -Worst. Beds. Ever. (Who even has spring mattresses anymore?!) With a few improvements, they would be perfect!

Hotel charges £ 1,00 to store luggage. I have never been charged for this before - in any hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at LGH . Staff was very friendIy and attentive . Mohamed at front desk has provided exceptional service ensuring the comfort of the hotel guest . He arranged to do room change as complained about poor internet . It's walking distance from major market places & undergroubd tube and bus.

Everything was in order. Breakfast was good. Location is good. Friendly and helpful staff. No surprises.

Great hotel Staff very friendly & helpful to tourists Location is very close to restaurants & public transportation

Very helpful friendly staff Great location easy access to public transportation I would come back to Lancaster Gate

Clean, good staff, decent location and good price. Lacks some comforts of US hotels, including size, bed quality, and room amenities. Other than that a good value.

Had a great overnight stay, staff was efficient and informative. Location is great on tube and bus lines, close to Notting Hill which is great for a wander and evening meal, Hyde Park across the street and a easy walk to Regents Park and Buck Palace. Room was just as advertised, clean, nice bath (tub was high up) overall fine for our purposes.. Did not have breakfast here as they wanted 10 pound per head, found a nice bakery next to the tube station and snacked and people watched instead

great stay, good room. located not too far from grocery, laundry, train (tube) stations, few restaurants. Be warned, the wireless internet is expensive, about 20 pounds ($30) a day! Other than the internet, everything was great.

The room was small (although by european standards was functional.) The room was warm and unable to cool off well, I was there in May and if it hadn't rained so much I don't know if I would have been able to stay in that room and be confortable. The location was good, very close to paddington station, although I think for me it was a little too far to walk. The tube is close and the staff was very helpful in arranging excursions.

Very disappointed, [...] but despite being a Brit I am always reminded how much better US hotels are. The pictures of the rooms are extremely deceiving, they are tiny rooms - the clerk argued with me that I didn't book for breakfast when I knew I had but had forgotten my paperwork back in the US. Most important mistake was the lack of a wakeup call despite being double verified that we were in the system for a 3am call to get to Heathrow in time. Front desk simply put it down to a phone error but were quite able to call us for our 4am taxi. The best part of this hotel was the Breakfast at a small Panini joint round the corner and an excellent pint and food round the corner (Lienstein Arms?..(sp?)

We stayed one night to attend a concert at Royal Albert Hall which is a pleasant 15-20 min walk through Hyde Park. Our room was recently renovated and a good size for London. We would definitely stay again.

Great location to train and bus stations. Close to Kensington Gardens, food and shops. Hotel had a nice breakfast - we booked through a popular travel website and our breakfast was included. Staff was friendly but gave us a lot of misinformation about tours and other small pieces of info. Internet service was a disappointment. Other than that...room was nice, clean and cozy. They will hold your luggage if you arrive before check-in. In our case we were checked-in early. That was super nice!

The Park Inn hotel is located off a main street, but a short walk to bus and the Tube stations, making it easy to get around. It's also a short walk to Kensington Park. The room was small by comparison to what we're used to in the States, but it was quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there was a computer in the lobby with free internet access. The only downside was no closet space in our room.
