Absolutely great staff and property, unfortunately due to price probably a once in a lifetime stay for us

Great service from staff, small bathrooms, room could use some attention. Suites are large space allowing room to spread out. Good breakfast buffet, great central location

We will definitely stay here again! My favorite was the turn down service....bottle w/glass of water beside our bed, chocolates, room picked up. Staff goes above and beyond. Breakfast purchased with room is an amazing deal! Especially loved the location. Close to Buckingham Palace. Nice walk to River Thames, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey.

Typical Taj experience. Everything was just perfect except of one thing. Great rooms, fantastic staff and service but the so called SPA (talking about Sauna, Steamroom and Showers not about the treatment facilities) was just horrible. They should not provide this to guests.

The location is phenomenal, but it's the staff who make this hotel. Outstanding service all around.

Staff bends over backwards to accommodate guests. The ultimate: a private butler handles your check-in while you sit comfortably in a luxurious lounge!

We loved our stay here. The room was huge and beautiful. It was more like a luxury apartment. In addition to the great room it was a great location on a quiet street. The service was exceptional as well. We will certainly stay here again the next time we come to London.

reasonable food prices. Big rooms! Even a kitchen. Very clean and nice service !

This is an exquisite hotel. The in-room amenities were amazing: the most comfy, plush, and cozy bed, beautiful kitchen with complimentary coffee/tea and creamer, and dimmer lighting. That's just to name a few... The cleaning and concierge staff were extremely accommodating and made our stay a once in a lifetime trip.

I had, by far, the best hotel experience. The hotel, staff and location were amazing. I will definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip to London

We couldn't have been happier. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Not a single complaint. I would happily stay here again.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Good indian food experience at the hotel restaurant. Rooms would require shortly a renovation and bathtubs are really small.

I took my daughter to London for her 16th birthday and we stayed at 51 Buckingham Gate, a Taj hotel. Everything was spectacular at the hotel. I could not have asked for anything better. The staff was unbelievably attentive. The room was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable. My daughter brought her stuffed husky dog she's had for about 12 years and every night when we returned they had posed him in a new place and position after cleaning the room- this delighted her. Small touches like this are what makes this hotel more like a home than a hotel. One night we ate at a restaurant on the hotel property and we couldn't finish our meal. I asked for a to-go box- the staff instead had room service deliver it up to our room. I could go on and on. End result is that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are planning to return to London next summer, and we will be returning to this hotel.

The hotel is excellent. Service is excellent. One limitation is that they are not very good at keeping rooms smoke free.

Outstanding. We will stay there again if we go there again.

A LITTLE ON THE COSTLY SIDE IF A VACATION TRAVELER AND YOU ARE NOT IN ROOM OTHER THAN JUST TO SLEEP AND TOURING LONDON ALL DAY. SKIP THE BREAKFAST. RIDICULOUS PRICE CHARGED FOR COFFEE AND FRUIT. THIS IS AN EXPENSE ACCOUNT HOTEL. "THE DONALD" WOULD APPROVE.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 kids for one week. Everything was excellent. Upon our arrival, they sent us straight to have breakfast since we were starving and the staff came to us to do our check in. They also realized we were very tired having flown during the night plus a 5-hour time difference so they gave us a room to rest while our room was getting ready. When we got our apartment on the second floor, my husband didn't like the lack of a view and they upgraded us to another one on the third floor with a great view of the St. James Court. Our apartment was great: 3 bedrooms, living room and a full kitchen with a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, washing/dryer machine. The hotel location is great: 2 min walk from the Buckingham Palace, 2 min from an Underground station, less than 10 min walk to the Westminster Abbey and Parliament. The staff could not be better. They made us feel like we were staying at a friend's house. The only reason why I gave a 4-star to Amenities was because in my apartment there was not an electrical outlet in any of the bathrooms which made it difficult when I needed to blow dry my hair and would make it hard for a man using an electrical shaver. But this would never prevent me from going back again and again.

Wonderful Hotel and even better location. Right next to Buckingham Palace, about a 8 minute walk to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and London Eye and very close to both St. James and Victoria subway stations, so getting around very easy. Our room was on 1st Floor and only problem was their was construction of a new building across street and also some light construction outside of our room where they were repairing the elevator. We were in a suite that was nice but don't know if I would call it 5 star. I am in Paris right now and we are in a true 5 star Suite that 51 Buckingham doesn't compare to. I'd give it 4.5 though. They do have a 6:30 - 8:30 happy hour where drinks are included, which was very nice. Hotel staff and concierge were very nice and had no issues with service, except for a brief miscommunication at check-in with another person with same last name. Could happen to anyone. Overall 4.5 stars and would recommend.

Fabulous service from the front desk, concierge, restaurant and cleaning people. we have traveled to many large european cities but this suite was probably the best value, price, location and setting with its beautiful, relaxing courtyard.
