My wife and I spent a night in Claridge's last night. It has a special place in our hearts as we had our wedding reception there and our youngest daughters christening party. The Hotel was fully booked which is always a good sign so they gave us a room upgrade. The room was lovely albeit a bit tired (The reason why I rate it 4 out of 5). The bed was super comfy and linen lovely and soft. The internet free and super fast which I guess everyone expects in 2018. Bathroom was spacious and the shower had the most perfect pressure I have ever experienced anywhere. The Breakfast this morning was outstanding and on time. Their soft scrambled eggs are just to die for. Will we go back? Absolutely!!!! The hotel has so much history (also with us) and so much class. Just everything you expect from a top London hotel!
It was a 10 year recognition award by my firm Reed & Mackay. I had a choice between the Dorchester & Claridges and chose Claridges as I had been to the Dorchester on a couple of occasions. I had also been to the Gordon Ramsay restaurant when it was at Claridges. I thought the downstairs areas was lovely but the upstairs and rooms seemed somewhat dated. Also we had the air conditioning units outside our room and they were very noisy at night.
Claridges is very special. The building is beautifully preserved; it is a feast for the senses. The staff cannot do enough for you. It is a real treat staying at the hotel. You feel that you are walking through history when you walk through the entrance. I would love to go again.
We went for afternoon tea in Claridge's during our honeymoon stay in London. Of you want a luxurious treat then this is it. The staff, the atmosphere, the setting, everything was amazing! We were given more of anything we wanted and take home boxes for anything we couldn't finish! We even got extra desserts for our honeymoon. Staff went the extra mile in every way. Eventually getting to the food! No words!! Unbelievable.
When looking for a luxury hotel that upholds the British standard for class look no further. The Claridges is all about class. From the doorman to the front desk to the chambermaids the hotel has it all. Highly recommend staying at the Claridges
Our room had been renovated, and it seemed like everything was in the right place. Electrical outlets for various kinds of plugs were at the desk and also on both sides of the bed head. The lighting was well calculated and easy to control. The service was outstanding and the advice given by the concierge disinterested and well informed. We especially appreciated our stay because our flight to the US was cancelled and we had to stay an extra night. That was painless because of the help they gave. When we asked the concierge the best way to go to the airport at 6 AM, rather than promoting their limousine service, he said that plenty of taxis would be available at that hour and that would get us to the airport quickly.
Amazing responsiveness and attention to detail. Staff was exceptionally attentive and polite. Rooms and facilities were excellent. Been coming to Claridge's for 30 years now and the consistency of the experience has remained a constant.
We normally stay at The Ritz when visiting London, this was our first visit to Claridges and we were not disappointed. We really could not find fault with anything. We also booked afternoon tea, and felt that the pastries had a slight edge on those at The Ritz.
I have stayed more than 10 times in this hotel with great reviews everytime but not today. The hotel rooms are renovated but not as nice as they used to be. Also room Windows are so old and in bad condition that they look awful and you can not even open. Avoid court-looking rooms as courtyard is being used as garbage. I used to love this hotel but I will try other hotels from now on.
From the moment our taxi door was opened by the doorman to the moment we left we were treated exceptionally well, it was my wife's birthday and we had arranged to stay overnight. The staff gave us champagne on arrival in the bar and a birthday greeting cake in the room. The accommodation is outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed overnight but ate out in the evening. The breakfast was fantastic as was the afternoon tea, in fact there was so much to eat at breakfast, and the quality was excellent by the way, that you probably wouldn't have needed to eat the next meal until the evening. This was the perfect treat.
