Very convenient for terminal 5 access, especially when you have an early flight. Our room was clearly renovated, although the bathroom was somewhat dated. It was more than adequate for one night. Be warned, there are no bedside sockets- although there were some by the TV. The bar is expensive but it has a captive audience and the plane watching opportunities are great. Staff were friendly.

Staying here was a bit of a mistake

This hotel is in serious need of refurbishment - or rebuilding. No lifts, cramped rooms, yellowing plastic equipment, no power sockets near the bed, copious usecof mastic in the bathroom etc. The check-in was great but after that the service was terrible, especially in the restaurant where our table was neither wiped nor set up before our meals arrived. The trays of half eaten meals which were in the corridor near our room when we checked in were still there the next day when we checked out. There were just two plus points - the aircon was whisper quiet and the pods to T5 were fascinating... as long as it's not raining - but that is more Heathrow than Thistle. It's half the price of the hotel in T5 where we usually stay (and we tried it to use the pods) but I'll happily pay the extra £75 and stay in the terminal in future rather than stay here.

It was a short overnight stay but I was very pleasantly surprised with the availability of transport to and from the airport - A system I have never seen before - the Pod’s were so cute and so easy to operate. It truly made my stay convenient and safe for a lone female traveler. The room was clean, comfortable and coffee was provided in the room. I was also happy to see an iron and ironing board. The reception staff were lovely- super friendly and kind.

The receptionist was very friendly and informative. The hotel looks abit shabby in areas like hallways. Old carpet. Let’s it down. Maybe refurbishing the hallways and rooms. I liked the bar and restaurant area especially seating outside. Waiter seemed harassed and rushed us not really friendly wasn’t rude just not very patient and didn’t want to chat ‘ he didn’t have to ‘ lol. Overall nice hotel

Good location, but very tired building and decor!

Stayed here as I had an early flight the next morning. The hotel looks very tired and could do with a massive overhaul or knocking down and rebuilding. The only benefit is its location to T5 and the use of the pods to make getting there easy. The rooms are really basic with nasty gloss style paint in the walls, bathrooms are ok, but again, very tired and old.

NOT an airport hotel

This is very misleading as it is called thistle terminal 5 one might assume it’s in the airport, it is not! And finding transportation ( the pods) was not well marked and airport staff were unaware. When you get off the pod with luggage you still have to walk thru a parking lot and a ways to the hotel. The staff in hotel were excellent but the hotel is very old and very basic. Next time I’ll opt for another hotel and grab the easy HotelHoppa from airport
