We stayed here for two nights as part of a wedding group. Despite numerous communications ahead of our stay, nobody bothered to give us the prepared info at check-in and there was a major confusion about the rooms. We ended up in a so called "Executive" room facing the inside atrium, thus offering no light and making us feel like in a prison. The "mini-bar" contained two bottles of water, which nobody bothered to replenish the next day. Room was not serviced until noon, and when we called to request it to be made up we were given all the signs that we have inconvenienced house-keeping. The Dorsett Lounge to which one has access is basically a soul-less meeting room with not many choices for "refreshment". The printer in the Business Center, once we found it as most of the staff seemed clue-less to its location, was not functioning. The "gym" is a small room on the top with two treadmills and a few weights. Breakfast was pure chaos: a long line to get in, one poor guy trying to cook eggs to order for simply too many guests, food constantly running out and some of the bread on the buffet FROZEN... Why do people run a hotel who have no idea about the basics of the industry?
Here for 4 nights, given smallest room- will go stir crazy by end of the week! Not even a window to look out of! This is what they class as a "Standard Room"!?!? Will NOT be staying at this hotel again.
This was a lovely hotel stay for a number of reasons. Firstly location is superb, next to Westfield's, a walking distance to Olympia and 2 min walk to tube station connection to the Westend. Fabulous modern hotel, great service with good breakfast options. We also visited the spa. It is a small spa with some talented lovely staff and an awesome ginger shots! Go and get totally warmed up in the sauna and steam, we had a massage after, highly recommend my therapist handwork, she was lovely. Overall great stay, we will totally return to the Dorsett London.
I stayed here firstly for work while I attended a Trade Show at Olympia, followed by a further night for a family event. Firstly the location is great, set on Shepherds Bush Green, very close to Shepherds Bush Market Tube station, and Westfield Shopping Centre. With a large, modern reception area, you will be greeted by friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. There are apparently a variety of rooms. Mine was quite small, but very clean and comfortable, and very quiet, so I slept well. Breakfast is great, buffet style, but very very good. Stylish Bar, serves a variety of Beers (mostly bottled), Wines, Spirits and Cocktails, though not cheap. But the bar staff are great fun and go out of their way to help and serve you. My only gripe, is.. no parking. There is a drop off area, but parking is found in the nearby Westfield Shopping Centre, so a bit of a chore, but nothing too bad.
Great location. Two minute walk to Tube station and beside Westfield shopping centre. Bus outside hotel goes to Oxford St. Rooms are well decorated with excellent bathrooms. They are a touch on the small side but are very comfortable. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in London. Will definitely return.
We have been using this hotel since it open a couple of years a og, and we really like it. Good location, Westfields just around the corner. Got a very nice room at the top floor without asking. They also have a nice breakfast, although it is a bit expensive.
Lovely upscale hotel if you need to be based in London W8. Fabulous modern full suite with curved glass and views over London. Very quiet room (713) from where you can watch the District Line trains gliding silently along. Excellent shower and very helpfull staff. Blinds in floor-to-ceiling curved glass are electric in the bedroom but manual in the lounge/diner and bathroom. One metal blind cord broke but was fixed super efficiently within hours. Ask for extra tea bags at the Concierge and delivered almost before we reach the room. Super slick. BUT the breakfast experience was beyond farcical. Stayed 2 nights on a breakfast inclusive rate. Told on Morning 1, “breakfast not included” and tried to upsell two breakfasts. We held are ground and they “checked” and with bad grace agreed breakfast was included. Exactly the same tiresome nonsense on Morning 2. Offered tea of coffee. Coffee from a vacuum flask undrinkable - burnt acorn experience. Tea also poured from a vacuum flask!!! Tepid dirty water with no tea in it!! The only drinkable breakfast beverages are the special order capuccino or a special order pot of English Breakfast tea for one. It is many years since I last drank canned orange juice, but that is how it tastes :( Pastries OK, but “hot” food is not “hot”. Not even warm. Nice Egg Station where a nice man does eggs any ways and omelettes, but served on stone cold plates. So cold omelette once you get back to the table. Same gies for the Full English. Stone cold plates and lukewarm sausage, bacon and tomato. No one attends to the food warmers, so tepid food. Most of the breakfast staff seem disengaged, in contrast to the remainder of the House Staff. Possibly the restaurant is (mis)-managed independently? Would stay in room 713 again but would insist at check-in on a certificate of inclusive breakfasts, or book room only and eat elsewhere. We did not have dinner in house, presuming a likely equally poor eating experience.
The Dorsett enjoys a slightly strange location in Shepherd's Bush. It is well located for the Westfield Shopping Centre, and the bus and tube links in to central London. If you are driving to London it is also worth checking out the parking at the Westfield Centre as this is good value - if you can, find the parking area that serves Debenhams as this is the closest exit to the Dorsett. The Dorsett is what I would describe as a good business class Hotel. That is it covers all the 'bases' well, is clean and comfortable, and has a good range of services without being very exciting or distinctive. The rooms are a little on the small size, it would be fair to describe the ensuite bathrooms (mine only had a shower) as 'compact', but they come with all you will need. There is a TV, small fridge, safe, and ironing board, complimentary tea and coffee (but not water - tap water in London is usually fine). The bathroom comes with a full range of toiletries - but no bathrobe - although the Hotel will supply one if you want to use their sauna/steam room. Good size, and comfortable, double bed. Free wi-fi. There was a slightly strange smell in the room - I suspect someone had smoked in it (despite it being a non-smoking room) and the Hotel had used a chemical deodoriser. The hotel has a gym and sauna/steam room - I didn't use them so can't vouch for them. There is also a Chinese Restaurant - I didn't eat there this time but have in the past - and a small bar. I had a 'non-breakfast' package and it is a lot cheaper to walk over to the Westfield Centre and eat there - try 'Pain Quotidien' which I found very good. The Westfield Centre offers a wide range of restaurants - 'Franca Manca' proved a very good pizzeria - and there is an excellent Chinese restaurant - 'Tian Fu' - nearby. There is also an excellent 'Brew Dog' pub offering an outstanding selection of beers within 2 minutes walk. As well as the vast number of stores in the Westfield Centre - if you love shopping you'll be happy - you'll find local Sainsbury Supermarkets and ethnic food stores. It's fine for business and a few days sight-seeing or shopping. It does 'what it says on the tin' - and I'll be back!
Stayed for a night, the hotel is located in the old shepherds bush cinema, the hotel keeps the art deco character of this and although Chinese themed (Chinese owned too) it keeps some cool movie themes through the bar.We got upgraded to an exec room which had a seperate living room, id recommend this room, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and clean, modern and loved the mirrors and paintings on the wall. In the hall ways are cool novelty chinese bird decorations, one on each door. breakfast was fantastic, a high end 'buffet; style if you will, staff were also great, particulary the guy who checked us in on sat 13th Jan, A young Ethiopian guy. WIFI is free and fast (55mbps) easily the quickest ive seen in a hotel. Location is right on shepherds bush green, not the greatest at night though, tube stop is only 5 mins away, as is westfield shopping mall. We parked at wesfield for only £6 for 24 hours, bargain. Only thing i can criticise the hotel for is their staffs knowledge on food allergys. The guy in the bar had to keep phoning through our questions on Gluten to the chef who took too long to come back and then contradicted what we were told earlier. my partner has a gluten allergy and we couldnt risk eating there as it sounded very vague... we only wanted bar snacks as we'd previously had dinner out so we ventured back out at 10pm to get food! not ideal... saying that, the breakfast staff had much better knowledge on gluten and prepared a fresh breakfast from scratch. thank you. on check out we were given passes to trad ein at westfield, these were amaxing, they give discounts at most stores there, you take it to the concierge at westfield who give you a voucer card, we got anything between 10-30% off the stores!
Very well maintained property. Clean rooms, toilets and towels. They had the device option called handy - one could take it out with them to avoid roaming charges - did not try it. Restaurant is ok andDid not see a parking option
