We visited the Dorsett over the Easter weekend with our 2 year old daughter. Over all the standard of the hotel was very good and I like the quirky luxe interior which is a converted bingo hall apparently. The lobby was clean and very well presented and the staff were helpful with the check in process / helping us with our bags. The only issue was that the side entrance of the hotel was out of use as they were varnishing / cleaning the floor outside, which made dropping our bags off awkward. Also the smell of the varnish drifted throughout the hotel communal areas which wasn’t particularly nice. Normally the concierge would park your car for you at a charge, but unfortunately this was unavailable so we had to drop our bags off and park our car at the shopping centre and walk round. We had a corner suite, which was on the edge of the building. It was nicely furnished, reasonably quiet and comfortable. The bed was large and on the firm side, the bedding was a nice quality. I think that the ‘separate seating area’ is slightly over prompted as it’s more of a large room with a small sofa and table to one side. The room was large enough for us to very comfortably put up our child’s travel cot, but there was no separate area to do so. I’m sure the hotel would have provided a cot or fold up bed but we decided to take our own as this can be a mixed bag in past experience (with other hotels.) The bathroom was nice and very large, it had a separate shower and bath, plus a long his and her sink. I’m not sure why the bath was so small, there is plenty of space for a roll top bath in here or at the very least a full length bath. The shower enclosure was small and leaked water, so not the best design. The hotel provided nice towels and two robes. One thing I would say is due to the design of the building our room had a wooden grid over the windows. This means the windows are very dirty, please clean them! We also looked over a very sad inaccessible dirty balcony. This also needs to be cleaned if you’re room looks out onto it. The Dorsett Lounge was a joke, not really an extra luxury. Quite a small room with some seating, not somewhere where you would really want to go. The coffee machine didn’t work, there were a few old pastry’s on the side and some orange juice in a fridge. They really need to work on this area if they’re selling it as ‘exclusive lounge access’ as there is no real benefit to it and it’s not what I would view as a luxury experience. Breakfast was awful, the cooked breakfast was nearly inedible it had been hanging around so long and the other elements like the pastry’s etc were very meagre. After asking 3 members of staff I finally managed to get some gluten free bread, so at least I didn’t starve. Over all, an ok hotel that was reasonably priced for the location. If you don’t expect a suite with a separate seating area you’ll be quite comfortable there, just avoid the breakfast and go to Starbucks. Hotel: please clean the windows, they’re very dirty
Great location for Shepherds Bush Studios where we were going for the evening. Super upgrade on our room upon arrival. Comfy bed with lovely linen & the soundproofing was faultless so a great nights sleep. Great buffet breakfast. Staff friendly & efficient. Bar prices on the high side but then only what you'd expect for London. Everywhere clean & sparkling in this interesting building. We will be back when in the area again. Great value.
Probably a decent hotel, good beds, convenient bathrooms and nice breakfast buffet. Avoid rooms on the first floor, no view except other people rooms and -bacon- smell from the restaurant. What a pity, could have been a nice stay but the rooms on the first floor are inacceptable (for the same price).
Well appointed air conditioned rooms, very comfortable beds. They seem to have thought of everything. Bathrooms (no bath) had magnifying mirror, usual toiletries plus thoughtful extras like toothbrush and toothpaste, razor, make up removal pads, cotton buds etc. Bedside iphone charging dock was a nice touch as was the free to use mobile phone. Staff were excellent, happy to go the extra mile. Didn’t use the restaurants so can’t comment on the food. The only reason I can’t give them full marks is that our room overlooked the central atrium which meant we had no access to natural light. If this is important to you maybe ask for a room facing the street although it is a busy road. Excellent location, couple of minutes walk to Westfield Shopping Centre. Will definitely visit again.
We were attending a gig at Hammersmith Apollo so booked the Dorsett Hotel. The Hotel is beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Our room was on the 7th floor and was bright and modern and bedding and carpets and bathroom were spotless. We were pleasantly surprised as our room was “standard” however it was so stylish and the windows were huge so the room was lovely and bright and clean. We are most definitely staying here again when we come to London. Great location and the neighbourhood of Shepard’s Bush has a friendly community vibe. 10/10 for sure.
My partner and I were really wowed by this hotel. The atmosphere and the furnishings and decor impressed us straight away. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a suite which had a connected sofa area and very large bathroom with all the mod cons. The bed was large and comfortable. A card and cake were left in the room for my birthday which was a lovely gesture. Due to time constraints, we didn’t eat at the hotel. There was a wide range of other good options nearby.
Booked a two night stay over St. Patrick’s weekend as a treat for a friend visiting from out of town. Perfect location for shopping and city centre entertainment. Twin room was small but luxurious and we had a fab view. Japanese themed decor was beautiful but found the frosted glass wall between the bathroom & bedroom a bit odd for two heterosexual friends. Would be fine for a couple but seeing my best mate showering felt a wee bit voyueristic. We laughed about it & didn’t let it spoil our enjoyment of the room.
Very Classy upscale hotel, Staff was Professional and caring and attentive to our needs. Located in Westfield next to the London biggest Shopping Mall. Around the Park you will find some stores to shop for food or can eat in at a local Restaurant’s from McDonalds, Subway, to Turkish “To die for”. Travel to and from Heathrow on the Central Line with Oyster card. Three Tube stops within a 5-7 minute from Hotel or take a cab 15-20 British Pounds to and from Paddington Station for Heathrow Express. Cabs take Visa debit or credit for payment. Every place we visited accepted VISA Debit and Credit. If you have any questions or need some help, ask the Hotel staff! Located near a Hospital…
I was staying for a few days with work and it was perfectly located for where i needed to be and the hotel itself was lovely .spotlessley clean and luxery beds..but the food oh dear...poor service limited menu ..waited ages orders mixed up and cold and undercooked. Its a shame cos the rest was great...do not go for a special meal..kfc is over the road.
