Property remains a good value but some things need improvement. During my visit the escalator from the ground floor to reception did not operate for 2 days. The elevator from ground floor is not well-marked. Bell staff that are supposed to be working at the ground level are rarely helpful. Most often they are speaking to one another or the persons outside that are smoking.
The staf aas friendly but the rooms conditions was bad. And there was a sewage problem. We had to chack out after 1 day.

The hotel was fairly convenient to Paddington Station and close to the Bond Street and Baker Street tube stops. Very convenient for shopping on Oxford Street -- Selfridges is only a block away. The room was a good size for London and very clean. The bathroom was modern and the shower was fully enclosed so you wouldn't spray everywhere. There was a nice rain shower head and plenty of water pressure and hot water. The only minor problem was that our shower door didn't stay closed completely. The bed was comfortable. The amenities I enjoyed were large towels, bathrobes, slippers, and a free stocked mini bar (water, crisps, soda, flapjacks). The two things I give it a "ding" for are the check-in is up a large flight of stairs and there is an escalator to go up, but not to go down. So, a little bit tricky for taking your large suitcases out. I also didn't enjoy the "smell" of the hotel. I'm not sure what the smell was, but it permeated the elevator, lobby and hallways. The staff were all pleasant. I would stay at this hotel again if it was a convenient location for me. On this trip we visited Wembley Stadium and access to the two tube stops nearby made it a straight shot to the stadium. The restaurant choices were a bit limited within walking distance, but easy enough to hop on a bus right on Oxford Street.

Beware that room service fees were about 30% higher than what was advertised on the room service menu found in the room. When this was mentioned, they refused to take the menu out of the room - so the next room visitor will experience the same issue.
We had a wonderful stay at the Amba hotel. Location is great and close to everything. Definitely stay there next time !

Everything was great and the staff was too friendly. Also, the bar tenders which were on shift on the 22nd were amazingly friendly. One bigbiaaue ia the bed sheets... Moat of their bed sheets needs to be replaced as they have wine stain on them which the laundry can't remove it. Otherwise all was excellent.
