Fraser Suites at 39B Queens Gate Gardens, London (on the corner of Cromwell Road and Queens Gate Garden road) is an ideal location with close proximity to Gloucester Road tube railway station, the open-top tour bus stop, Waitrose supermarket, three major museums, short walk to Hyde Park and close proximity of numerous restaurants of good quality and reasonable prices. The best nearby restaurants in our opinion are the family run Bella Vista Italian restaurant, at 132 Cromwell Road, the Thai Taste Asian restaurant next door and the Indian restaurant in Gloucester Road which is very close to the Fraser Suites. Having the kitchenette was ideal as we were able to have breakfast as we do at home and the bathroom has a proper shower instead of standing in a slippery bath. The standard of cleaning was exceptionally good and we felt very much at home for our 7 day stay. Every staff member on the desk was very helpful with answering our questions about getting to various locations and modes of transport. Their doorman is excellent and he is their best advertisement because he greats customers in such a helpful and considerate way.
This place is kind of awful. It looks great from the outside, but that's about it really. On the positive side, it's in a very good location - just around the corner from the Natural History Museum. The tube station is also very close, but we had major tube closures on several days, so we ended up taking alternative transport anyway. We stayed at a Fraser Suites property in Paris immediately before coming to London, and the difference couldn't be more stark. The staff who checked us in weren't very friendly or helpful. We were a party of 4 but we got a room that was tiny. Oh, and the television set didn't work and the air-conditioning was broken too! We moved to a larger room. Overall, the place is tatty and worse for wear. I studied at university in London. The room resembles student accommodation. But I'll save the worst till last. Oh my god, the breakfast. It is the worst breakfast I have ever seen. The smallest spread imaginable, and each day we sat there you could see a stream of staff appearing with provisions to place on the breakfast counter. It was like they had nothing to put out and were desperately looking for something to fill the space! On each of the three days we ate there the rolls were 'old'. The bread was not fresh. I can understand that you may not have fresh rolls on a particular day. But every day? And they had bananas on display that were well on the road to the rubbish bin and were entirely split open. We made it a point not to eat anything that was open or exposed to the elements. Overall, very poor. Why is that London has such lousy hotels?
Superb on location. Water pressure on all showers are bit slow, hopefully to improve in this area. Special thanks to Shamal, the guy from morning shift, very helpful, smiley and great services :-) good job
Our family of 4 adults stayed in a 2 bdrm unit and had a lovely time. The staff are so welcoming and friendly especially Vijay and Shamal. Nice fluffy towels and L'Occitane toiletries are replenished every day. Hot and cold breakfast for 10 pounds. So quiet and you can't hear any noise coming from outside. Excellent location not too busy. Restaurants are everywhere and 2 blocks away from Museums. We can't wait to come back hopefully next year :-) Thank you Frasers for a wonderful stay.
With a 7min walk to Gloucester Road tube, this place was handily located and well priced for central London - especially when connecting to/from LHR. Well appointed room with cooking facilities or restaurant if preferred, we will happily return & continue to use other hotels in group across their platform. Speaking of wider group & platform, the only down-side was front of house staff & mgr (?) being unable to connect us to other hotels in same group. They appeared surprised when I advised them of their in-room information & told us we’d either need to wait for a weekday to call contact centre, or phone the hotel directly.
I recently stayed at this Fraser Suites. The location is great - very walkable with lots of restaurants and shops and it's just a couple of blocks from the Tube. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was large and the kitchenette was a nice touch. I also appreciated the laundry room. One major issue was that the floors were VERY creaky. The people above us were walking around all through the night and it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. I felt like I had to tip toe in the room because it was so creaky. Another issue was the shower. The water was extremely hot, even at the coldest setting. It would've been an amazing stay if it wasn't for those issues. Hopefully they can be fixed some time in the future!
Great place to stay, comfortable and quiet. Very close to supermarket and metro. Washer in room and cooking facilities. Great big towels and plenty of them. Only two of everything in our kitchen, so have to wash and use. Nice toiletries but not always replenished so maybe have a backup.
I haven’t written a TripAdvisor review in a while, but I had such a wonderful stay here that I feel compelled to do so now. For starters, the location is convenient. Gloucester Road Underground, which links you to the Piccadilly, Circle, and District lines, is merely five mins. away. The Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert, and even Harrod’s and Harvey Nichols are within walking distance too. And since the rooms here are equipped with kitchenettes, guests will be delighted to find Tesco Express, Sainsburys, and Waitrose within the vicinity. I certainly made the most out of it. Comfort-wise, the rooms were clean and well-appointed. There’s a lot of room to move around, and the water pressure was pretty good in the bathrooms. Cable could be a bit spotty at times, but I didn’t really watch television much and the wi-fi was consistently strong, so it didn’t really matter. Lastly, the staff here are excellent. I really cannot say it enough. Not only did all my packages get delivered to my room promptly, but everyone was always helpful, competent, and friendly. These wonderful people really love what they do and care about the guests, and it shows. Mr. Khan, Mr. Cameron, and most especially, Rosie and Niky looked after me so well during my stay, and were all very sweet about it too. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been in the care of such amazing people. If it helps, I stayed in room 309. Great view from the window and it’s right beside the lift, so access was pretty easy.
Have been staying here since 2008. Must say it has maintained its standard since then. whilst some of the people have changed but overall everything is good and would recommend this hotel, particularly if you like us need to wash and dry your clothes. Easy to do home made simple brekkie in the room as well. Location is just brilliant as it is close to Gloucester Road station. The front desk personal are all very nice. Top of the lot is Vijay just brilliant as usual.
We’ve stayed here many times before and just keep coming back. Superb location, a 5 minute walk to the Gloucester tube station and shops. A selection of rooms are available. We usually opt for a 1 bedroom if we are here longer than a few days. The studio is fine for a few nights but if you are here longer, you really need some room to spread out. We’ve just had a month here in a 1 bedder. Good sized room with large queen bed. Safe in room. Heating throughout. Large wardrobe. The lounge kitchen dining is one room. 2 seater lounge with coffee table, small book shelf, dining table with 2 chairs, small bar fridge (ample for these purposes), small hotplates, microwave, sink, TV. The bathroom has shower over bath. Good size room. Great gym in the basement with personal trainers available if you want to hire. Cafe/bar on ground off reception which is really handy if you want to go and sit somewhere without leaving the building, buy a coffee/drink and read. The staff are absolutely outstanding. Friendly, helpful and call you by name if you are there for a while. I’d really like to thank Thomas (such a huge smile to greet us every evening), Rosie, Shamal (another great smile), Roman, Jeremy, Kamran & Khan, Sylvia (keeping your room sparkling) and Vijay. You all made our stay fantastic. Highly recommended. We’ll be back soon, perhaps in the gym with the personal trainer!
