When we arrived they told us the hotel was fully booked and moved us to another building, "a better one". The room was underground and the only view was a wall. We came back and after we insisted they "found" a room (surprise!!) in the main building. Not a great beginning.

I would never stay at this hotel again. Check-in took forever, once we did get our keys, elevator didn't work. The room was dreary -- bare walls, dark brown curtains. Housekeeping left extremely unpleasant surprises in my toilet both days. When we tried to get bottled waters at the front desk in the evening, staff was very unhelpful even though they could have easily directed us to the store across the street.

Nice location , easy transportation , good view (Hydepark)

First room had a double bed against the wall for 2 people. Fig did not work. Moved to another.Matresses were so old one would roll out of bed.

This hotel is more hype than substance. I was there for three nights in May. I was very surprised at how old and outdated this hotel is. The hotel is a hub for large crew ships, as they dock for a day or two before their next departure. As such, the hotel is overwhelmed, and did not have enough staff to accommodate all of their guests. The staff could also be better trained. I was consistently provided with inaccurate information from the hotel's concierge's desk. After the second mishap, I decided to ignore their advice and guidance. Lastly, I was really insulted by one staff member after I complained that a rowdy group of men (not hotel guests), in the dining area, were taking video of me without my permission. Instead of the manager escorting these individuals out of the hotel, he started to interrogate me. This was not only perplexing, but extremely insulting, and eventually, the authorities had to be called. The culprits eventually left the hotel, after being told by the waiter that the authorities were called. The hotel is conveniently located around the corner from Hyde Park and Oxford Street. Other than that, there are no other redeeming qualities. I would not recommend this hotel, not only is it overpriced, but the service is horrendous.

Stayed here because my stepdaughter was here on a group tour. A good experience overall. Very close to the tube, Hyde Park and shopping and dining options. Staff were friendly and efficient. WiFi was free and easy to access. Room was small but comfortable. Only small complaints about room were a lack of electrical outlets, and no sports channels on the TV. Would definitely consider staying here again if the price is right.

Very good location , near everything , very good view , few rooms with large windows are the best

I have stayed in this hotel many times. I was disappointed to see that it took several calls over 7 hours to have them repair a shower issue. Its only when I told them that I wopuld not pay for water damage caused by their neglegence that they finally came. Matresses are too soft and uncomfortable

Love the place, close to everything.. Great stuff and good amenities.

Very nice front lobby. Very great & convenient location. Hotel gives a lemon water & daily treats (ice cream, pop corn)... Very thoughtful. Enjoy the stay. Will come back.

To celebrate our 50th and 16th birthdays, my daughter and I visited London. The Cumberland exceeded our expectations. The room was larger than expected. The location is perfect for access to the Tube and tourist locations. Would love to visit again and would choose the same hotel.

My partner and I wanted to experience the New Years Eve celebrations in London. You can't beat the location of this hotel because of it's proximity to parks, shopping, dining, and the Marble Arch underground station. London is beautiful decorated for the Holiday Season. The hotel is very modern, clean, and well maintained. The staff is incredible. This is certainly one of the best hotel stays we have had in London!!!

But, a mediocre hotel with not much luxury to it. Pleasant and utilitarian, but not a great place to stay.

Clean and comfortable room, great location, top notch hotel restaurant.

The hotel was nice, the staff was great, the room and building were clean. The lobby was extremely crowded on several occasions but I guess that is to be expected at such a centrally located hotel.

Great hotel. Third time of staying here, very clean, comfortable and courteous staff. Perfect location for the underground and high street shopping. Good local restaurants and 'watering holes'. Recommend!

The Cumberland Hotel is a very good 4-star ish hotel right next to Marble Arch which makes it ideal for shopping or seeing shows its along similar lines to the Sanderson in Many ways but with trimmed down service and room design however, the overall experience of the Cumberland will not disappoint you, in fact its a great hotel at a great price

The hotel staff was very helpful but do not expect value for your money. The accommodations are very tight even for UK standards. The in room equip like tea kettle and tv did not function. And I did not like that I had to stand inside the stall and get soaked every time I needed to turn the shower on. The hotel frowns on you bringing in outside food but everyone does it.

The hotel staff was friendly. Room was clean though my key card stopped working a few times. They fixed it promptly.

Very nice overall. The rooms are quite tight by most standards, but probably nice size for London. Only stayed one evening but check in and out was easy enough.
