London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Overall the hotel and staff was nice. The only downfall was the AC in our room didn't seem to cool as it should. They did supply us with a fan to help also maintenance did come and service it right away (still wasn't cool enough). We just toughed it out with the fan added. We also got stuck on the elevator for a short period. The staff quickly rescued us.

Did not look like a regular Marriott, old and dirty hallway, stained carpet in room and hallway, small lobby with old furniture, felt like 2 stars hotel

Comfortable stay. Rooms are small compared to US standards.

Was my fourth or fifth stay. You used to be able to get to the health club via an indoor route. Not anymore. Also, the staff is not always clear on when the health club is open. Room was quiet, clean. One rather silly thing. If you want wifi free, you have to go to the lobby. If you want it in your room, you have to pay, close to the underground, about 45 minutes o heathrow via the heathrow express. Good choice. Good neighborhood, and you can travel all over london easily. Underground line is the bakerloo.

This hotel was adequate for our needs, but I wouldn't stay there again if I didn't have to. The room was spacious, especially for Europe. It is located a bit out from city center, so you must plan your timing to get into the city. The Tube station is about a 10 minute walk. We prefer to stay where breakfast is included, but the prices here were ridiculous. There are other options within walking distance however, including a small grocery store. The staff was average, they did nothing extra to make us feel special. The concierge did help with a situation and he was wonderful to work with. We chose this hotel because we had a last minute idea to go to London for New Years and this one was the best price for the quality. It wasn't great however and if I had another option, I'd stay elsewhere next time.

With buses, the underground, and local shops all nearby, this hotel is comfortable and very conveniently located.

Large and nice rooms for a European hotel. Food was good, close to tube station.

It was nice having a clean comfortable room to come back to at the end of the day. The staff was helpful and friendly and answered any questions I had. It's in walking distance of the tube station and a short train ride from major attractions. Tesco's is a block away which was nice. Will stay here again when we get back to London.

Near the underground but far from city center Staff very friendly and helpfull

The service was phenomenally good, everyone so nice and quick to help with anything. The concierges got me cabs quickly, and told me all kinds of tips about London. The room comfortable and room service super fast. You can leave your breakfast menu on the door handle to have it delivered on exact time, or just call in the morning and get it in 10 minutes. Delicious food- you must order their "English Breakfast". I didn't do Fratelli's but the bar is also a restaurant and very delicious for dinner, or snacks with coffee. On site parking isn't cheap but it's convenient to have a garage. Cab ride to Buckingham Palace: around 15 pounds. From there, short walking distance to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, etc. If you're like me and didn't bring a computer, you can use the small business center; however, the computers don't allow to upload photos or go on social networking, so you may need to take a short walk to one of several internet cafes up the road, that charge only 1 pound per hour of internet use. Do: check out Abbey road a couple blocks away if not just to get a cliche photo of yourself walking across the famous crosswalk- the concierge told me exactly where it is. Do: check out the nearby Regent's Park, one of the royal parks, free to the public; it was Henry VIII's hunting grounds. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will certainly be returning.

the hotel is very and i mean very conveniently located from all teh major attractions, the conceirge service was excellent, juat a 10 pound cab drive from Oxford street. I recomend this hotel to any traveller, family or business

The Maida Vale is located within walking distance of the underground. There are many eateries nearby. If you walk a few blocks in either direction, you will get a flavor for the diversity and lifestyle of the culture and people. The room which was considered Executive Room was quite small. This is typical and very different from the states. The hotel staff was friendly and quite accomodating. I would stay there again. Parking is a problem in London and this hotel had a parking garage which was very convenient.

staff was very incompetent and rude. They did not assist me in the most basic needs. They were tip hungry without satisfactory service. We place a Do not Disturb Sign on our door, and they ignored it. They did not allow us to print merely one document in the business center without tying to charge us an "internet charge" even though we did not have to go on-line. The room service for food was so limited, and it ended at 12:100am. We will never go back.

We received great service all week long my family was treated very well. The front desk was very flexible in many aspects from check in time to money exchange and quick response to any needs in the room. The cleaning staff was prompt and very friendly, the executive lounge was small, but good breakfast and very fast and friendly. The pool was clean and great for the kids. The fitness room and pool was in a separate area of the hotel which was a little bit of a walk through a private apartments. I travel through out Europe on business and stay at many 4-5 Star Hotels and Hotel Maide Vale was very service focused. The hotel is very clean and great for families or business. The location is easy to get down to London with a quick hope on the tube. We will be back.

great! I just did not like an unpolite waiter

The hotel was nice, it was out of the hussle and bussle of the city. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, including the one at home! Right across the street were two great places to eat. A cafe, The Queen's Cottage, and a restaurant/pub, The Queen's Arm.

Wonderful staff. Was able to get a room at 10 am before the designated check in time. There is a Clark's shoe outlet just around the corner.

it was a really good stay but the pool was bad because they have set hours for kids so the kids never got to swim at all the hole stay there.thats why we stayed there because they had a pool the pic are not like the hotel at all

The Staff on the Front Desk are unprofessional! On our first night,me & my friends ask about the adaptor, the staff said, it's not available but promise to give us the next night. When we asked them the next night, still it's not available, they told us to go across the street to buy, with no argument we left to the store but when we left, the staff on the front desk are laughing at us but then we have to go back to them(front desk) because there's none on the store. After insisting that they should give us an adaptor as they promised the previous night, they gave us 1 partial part-of course it didn't work. After exchanging some words & showing them that we can't plug our camera & cellphone, they gave us the other part which they hid on the desk. Their housekeeping/chambermaid is inconsistent! On our first day, we have a complete sets of towels but the next day, we only have bath towels, they did this alternately. The bathtub is toooooo high...There's no handrail for you to grab in case you slip when you get out from the tub( the floor is slippery). Overall, the room is small. One of the staff in the restaurant asked us if our breakfast is included because if it's not, our choice is limited(according to him). We're paying english breakfast which is 16.95 pounds and he's telling us that our choice is limited. He needs an in depth training on how to approach a customer/s.

We expected to have two double beds but were told that the hotel was full. We were told to check back which we did each day and although people continued to check in, we, a family of four who had before hand requested two double beds, never had them. one of our kids literally slept on the floor for two nights until they provided a cot. AC didn't work until third day when it was repaired. Hotel was clean, great water pressure in shower, friendly support people and right off bus route. If breakfast were included the stay would have been better. For an additional 30 pounds per day we could have gotten their continental breakfast or for 17.95 pounds per person, a buffet which was pretty skimpy.
