Amazing hotel near Times Square and walking distance of everything. The rooms are very comfortable, very clean, and luxurious. The decor of the whole hotel is fabulous. The staff is what really made our stay the very best. Mr. Manpreet Singh greeted us when we checked in and then by our names every time we met thereafter. When he learned it was my birthday, a small treat and a birthday card awaited me on my return to the room. If you are going to NYC for a weekend getaway or for a business trip, you won't regret staying at The Chatwal!

My wife and I stayed for 4 days over Christmas. We mainly chose this hotel for being part of the SPG group and for the understated luxury. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised by the location being so close to Times Square and the Theatre District. It's not far from the subway either. Check-in and lobby services were excellent with the front desk staff being very friendly and recognizing our SPG Platinum status. The doormen and bell staff were also very proactive though we did not require help with our bags. In that respect, our immediate first impression was a good one, espcially in the art-deco lobby, which while small, is very tasteful. On top of it all, near the elevators, there was always hot coffee, tea and and hot apple cider after coming in from the cold. A very nice touch. The room itself was not overly large but was comfortable with hues of black and red. Thankfully in the room, there are many plugs, outlets and other, enough to charge all your devices, phones, portable wear... I was very pleased with how well our room was soundproofed as I barely heard any noise despite being on the street side. The bathroom was a highlight being large for the size of the overall room and with japanese bidet. The large mirrors and black marble finishing give it a nice touch. We never ran into the maid service once, with them magically sprucing up our room, everytime we were out. The staff was also very helpful in with a missing clothing item that got lost in one of the clean-ups. While this is not a review on the Lamb's Club, the hotel restaurant, we did eat there a few times for dinner, x-mas brunch and breakfasts. I won't go into detail here, but the food was quite good, though the service was a little cold, albeit professional and perfunctory. A small caveat that is not really a fault of the hotel. We found catching a cab or Uber in front of the hotel could be difficult due to it being on a one way street. Cabs/Ubers need to go through the pedestrian traffic of nearby Times Square before reaching the hotel, so plan accordingly. Overall I was really impressed with the Chatwal. The location is excellent being close to the popular tourist areas by foot. The hotel service was top-notch. It's definitely a more upscale hotel, so the price matches but it was well worth it.

This is a small boutique hotel, so don't expect to be greeted at the door by a team of people ready to help you like at the Plaza. Given that, it's pretty darn great. We stayed in the Zen Suite, which was just incredible. Service at the front desk was exceptional and our room was one of the best I have ever stayed in. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The Chatwal is a boutique hotel, but stretching the category to a larger property. It has great qualities, including a very attentive and helpful staff. It has drawbacks, including a small and uncongenial lobby. We've stayed here twice before. Large rooms and the service quality have brought us back. Breakfast is also good. You will find below that I've said the hotel is good with families. Actually in the usual sense, i'm not sure. They were very nice to our daughter, but she's 35. They were also impressively nice to our little dog. They brought him biscuits and asked if we had enough food. He thought the Chatwall was great.

I really loved it here. So close to Times Square we were right in with all the action. Walking distance to many things including Top of the Rock and Empire State. In the midst of the busy city it was nice to be able to escape it all in the hotel. Really nice decor, friendly staff, beautiful room!! Will stay again

My family and I stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of times square from DEC 23-29. It was perfectly situated next to Broadway and 44th st, right where all the action is happening. Although it was very cold at that time, we had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant had amazing breakfast food every morning. The housekeeping.turndown service was fast. we stepped out for 10 minutes and everything was made again. the gentleman at the concierge desk helped us find something to do every day and provided tickets to all the shows we wanted to see each night. The managing butler, Brandon Short, found out that I liked the warm apple cider they served in the lobby, and he made sure to bring me a thermos of it while we were packing before checkout. It felt like they really knew and cared about us during our stay. I would definitely book here again! thanks to the people at the Chatwal for making our stay so great!

I highly recommend anyone travelling to New York to stay in this beautiful hotel. Within walking distance to the theatre district, great restaurants.......if you are going to NYC to catch a Broadway Show.....stay at the Chatwal!

My daughter and I have stayed at the Chatwal a couple of times now, it never disappoints! From the exceptional service at the front desk to the wonderful maid checking in on my sick daughter. I hardly give reviews of the places that we stay but when you are blown away by the beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and knowledgeable concierge staff, it forces us to appreciate what a vacation should be! Even freezing temperatures and daughter getting sick couldn’t ruin our trip. We were a quick 5 minute walk to Anastasia and Evan Hansen show. I think the one word to describe the staff here is that they make you feel “special.” We will be back again and again!!

Stayed at The Chatwal for a night during a quick visit to NYC to take in a few shows. Location is perfect, especially if your focus is Broadway. Centrally located to tour other hot spots as well: quick walk to Central Park, shops on Madison Ave, Bryant Park, etc. We took the train in to Penn Station and walked to/from hotel. Hotel has a funky, art deco decor. We stayed in a suite with terrace which was right against another building, with another adjoining room’s terrace right next to it. No privacy so not sure it’s worth the upgrade (was there between Xmas and New Years and they still had pumpkins displayed on terrace so guess not regularly used). Room itself was nicely appointed, clean, and quiet. Room service and hotel restaurant were very good. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Red Door Spa was also very good. All in all, wonderful hotel. Will be back.

The rooms are black and red with little to no floor space to maneuver around. The bathrooms are black marble. Pinpoint lighting. Borderline depressing space. Admittedly, I found the beds comfortable. Did not enjoy spending time in the room. Hotel itself gorgeous, without a doubt. Service hit and miss. Sometimes we were just stared at by lobby staff. Other times, greeted and asked if we needed anything. Sat at lobby bar for fifteen minutes..after my order was taken by someone...until a manager came over and explained that lobby bar was closed and I should try the second floor bar. Bizarre exchange. Chose location based on search of Midtown hotels. This hotel is closer to Times Square than I would have chosen. Misleading.
