My sister and I had an awesome stay. Front desk host was extremely friendly and gave us many ideas on where to go. Hotel was very clean. Continental breakfast was available if wanted for 10.. The hotel supplied beach chairs, umbrellas and towels to take to the beach, which was a 5 minute walk. Very safe and quiet neighbourhood. Loved it. Would definitely stay there again. Also this was during spring break and again very quiet.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Villa Italia Hotel. I was racing in the South Beach Triathlon and this location was perfect! It was close to the action of Ocean Drive but just a block or two away which made all the difference. Our room was quiet, the beds were comfortable, nice toiletries and SPOTLESS! Quiet air conditioning was so welcome after the heat of South Beach. Beatrice was such a welcoming hostess and genuinely cared about our experience there. Our race ended after checkout but the staff accommodated us so we could clean ourselves up before heading to the airport. The breakfast is pretty good with fresh fruit and cereal available. Nespresso in the room, too! They also provide chairs, umbrellas and towels for the beach. Look no'll have a very pleasant time at Villa Italia.

Beautiful boutique hotel in south beach. Hidden but close to everything you want. Friendly staff without the craziness of spring breakers. Great European style breakfast. Highly recommend for couples, family travelers.

Wonderful hotel in great location. Close to beach, shops, restaurants but in a quiet spot away from yet near to the 'beaten track'. After staying in several hotels in the area over the last couple of years we have now found our 'go to' - we will be back. The hotel staff could not be nicer or more helpful if they tried - they are 10/10! Breakfast was wonderful, freshly made delicious omelette. Gardens are so nice and wonderful place to relax any time of day.

Great location, decent room, and nice breakfast - all for an affordable cost. That is, if you're only charged once! If you book a room at this hotel, be sure to keep a close eye on your credit card statements. I pre-paid for my hotel stay through the Villa Italia website. A very affordable $200.14 given the location. A month later, upon check-in, I was told they had no record of my payment and no credit card on file. I actually had forgotten to bring the credit card I initially paid with, so I handed them another. As they were ringing up the charge, I found confirmation of the initial payment on my credit card mobile app. I alerted them and they voided the current charge, and apologized for the confusion. Should have been good and done there. But the staff member made no note, and when I went to check out the next morning, the woman made the same accusation- saying I needed to pay. I had to show her the same proof of payment on my phone, and she photocopied my voided receipt from the night before. She also apologized and seemed sincere, but saw no previous record of payment. I left nervous and made a mental note to keep an eye on my credit card charges. Sure enough, after my vacation, I saw another $200.14 charge show up. And the weirdest part is, it wasn't even the credit card I brought with me on location... it was the one I paid with online a month in advance, which means they completely lied when they told me they didn't have a credit card on file! I called the hotel, and they said they looked into it and saw no record of an extra payment. Infuriating!!! I have called my credit card company to dispute the charge, and it may be weeks before it's all worked out. Either they're trying to scam customers, or they have incompetent staff with a sketchy booking system. Your call if it's worth the risk and hassle. I wouldn't necessarily say I regret my stay, but wanted to let people know what I'm dealing with in the aftermath! And whatever you do, pay with credit not debit, or you'll have even more trouble getting your money back if the same thing happens to you.

My family had two rooms and stayed for two nights in March. It is a small European style hotel with probably 10? rooms on two floors. The rooms were a good size, bathrooms very adequate, and everything was very clean. The breakfast was excellent with an outdoor breakfast area. Not sure how it would be in the heat of the summer, but the AC was also great. Best of all, it was south of 5th street so it was a very quiet location but close to the main restaurant / bar area and a short 3 blocks to the ocean. I highly recommend the hotel.

2 Rooms booked 3 months before trip, cancelled by the hotel 2 weeks before arrival, allegedly because of renovation works. After a test call, only too rooms were impacted, it became clear that we were kicked out in order to rent our rooms for better value than the early bird rate we had got. The latest reservation for the dates should have been cancelled first. Unfortunately we got no help to find anything else, we had to book a more expensive rate elsewhere. INACCEPTABLE ; even the way they did it... via a simple mail (we could have missed it)... NOT EVEN A SINGLE TELEPHONE call ! A SHAME / Avoid if you want to be sure of your reservation..

I had booked a room for 2 nights on their website and called in the night before my travels and they confirmed the room. When I arrived there, they said that I cancelled my reservation and showed me the email confirmation. I reviewed my notes and realized that I had made 2 reservations: 1 with a cancellation option which I cancelled and another that was at a 10% discount and with no cancellation. I also reviewed my credit card prior to my trip and realized that the charges for the room were close to $100 more. After some discussion, it turns out that they charged me the taxes and fees 2x as their website already included it. TIP: Keep a printout of your reservation and check/print out a copy of your credit card statement before coming to the hotel. After spending several minutes at the desk, they did give me a room on the second floor (205) which was very spacious. A couple of issues with this room: - The AC temp was not very cold and the room stayed around 25 degrees. I got them to manually override that setting and I was able to get the room temp down to around 21 degrees. - The room fridge is VERY noisy and woke me up at night. I just unplugged it to get some sleep and plugged it back in the next morning - The room floors were not very clean (bring slippers) and had lots of dust on it. - The beds are due for replacement as they have that "hammock" feel to them - The curtains don't completely black out the room so it is a good idea to bring a mask if you are sensitive to light The hotel is located very close to South Beach (about 5 minute walk) and to some nice restaurants and the local CVS and Walgreens if you need to get anything. Their breakfast is decent with scrambled eggs, tea/coffee, toast/muffins, etc. Their garden setup is very nice and peaceful. Just make sure you don't leave your food unattended as the birds may want to sample it :) On the second day, I get a call from my home saying that my hotel room has been cancelled again. Needless to say, this alarmed my folks who are in their 70's! This was after I was just there and they confirmed everything. Not knowing what to expect, I cut my morning touring early to find out what happened. It turned out that they *once again* messed up the reservation. Upon checkout, I had to spend about 1 hour working with the Manager to get the overcharges refunded and asked that they give me an additional discount as a result of all the issues I encountered as listed above. Her reply: I can't adjust any pricing now but come back next time and we can give you a very good price. Given the price of the hotel room (About $220 a night CAD), I am not very impressed with the conditions and the way their admin staff handle reservations. In fact, I never had an experience like this in the 30 years I have been travelling. Would I come back here: Possibly but it would have to be one heck of a price discount!

Good- sized room with lots of light and large bathroom. Comfortable bed, good wifi, and great front desk people. The breakfast cook made us omelettes on request which were yummy (cheese, onion, and tomato) and the coffee was good; all food (eggs, croissants, sausage, etc.) is included in the room price. Two blocks from the beach, close to CVS and one block from some restaurants. Comfortable, quiet, friendly, and great price for the area. We will come back when in town! p.s. We also liked the quaint patio and eating breakfast outside.

Enjoyed the stay for one night before catching a cruise. Actually wish I had made it for 2 nights. Staff was nice. Don't eat at first place you come to at the nearby area along the beach which is easily accessed only a couple blocks away. Would go back.
