This was a very bad experience!! Our room had multiple problems. The fridge did not work for two days and was leaking water all over the room. We told the front desk, but nothing was fixed right away. Then we found a cockroach in the room, which is unacceptable, especially because we had a baby with us. The room did not feel clean or safe. At checkout, the general manager told us we would get a refund for two nights. Later, Orbitz told us the hotel declined the refund. This is very unprofessional and misleading!! Totally disrespectful and unacceptable.

I had such a great stay at the Balfour. The staff was very feiendly and welcoming as soon as I arrived. Super accommodating. I specifically chose this hotel because of the beach access. Chairs, umbrella and towels are available to rent during your stay and the beach was just a few feet away. They provide two compliemmenty drinks you can grab during their happy hour. Location couldn't have been any more perfect. Its right off ocean drive vut away from the chaos. I would 100% stay here again. Can't wait to return!

Room was clean everyday, the front desk team was amazing. I couldn’t control the heat of the room first two days I slept in cold bc I couldn’t control it. I called for help they came in and said that if I turned it on then all theee rooms get heat which was super weird. Plus the lady the tall skinny one at the restaurant had an incredibly nasty attitude. Esp when it came to not tipping extra. The guys were great.

Stayed for about 15 hrs. So, it was fine and less expensive than many of the other newer and nicer properties. The common areas were fine-good. Our room was dark and musty. Because of the mustiness, everything felt dirty. Could not open a window and the HVAC was not functioning as it should. Since we were only there for a quick overnight, didn’t seem like it was worth switching rooms or complaining.

This stay was a mixed bag. First the positives: the room is decent size for the price, bed huge and super comfortable, enormous TV in the room, great air-con. The beach is 5 min walk from the hotel and the beach service was great. The food in the restaurant is really good and very fairly price. Sadly the restaurant opening hours are surprisingly limited. The rooftop is cute and gives you an opportunity for a quiet moment with a view as its barely used, but sadly it also has somewhat of an abandoned vibe Now to the negatives: The breakfast was a joke: one scrambled egg, strip of beakon and a few potatoes + drip coffee. A la cart style - which means it takes the staff 20 minutes to deliver this order to you and they manage to get it wrong 2 our of 3 times even though the menu literally has 5 items. The service in general is mediocre at best. Maria at the bar, who welcomed us on our first day was an exception - fantastic service and great care. Besides her the general vibe was that the property is severely understaffed (one person front of the house on bar and service and one back) and the few staff members who are there really can't care less. Orders are routinely mixed, bills routinely mispriced, staff don't know what's available and what isn't etc. Also, the restaurant is closed for dinner service 2 nights a week and closes early (9:45pm) the other nights. There are no views from the rooms as the hotel is boxed between buildings, the pool is tiny, cold and barely gets sun.

Our room was covered with dust the surfaces had not been wiped down in a long time. I struggled into the hotel up the stairs with some of our cases while my husband paid our taxi all the time being watched struggling into the lobby by a tall young male who worked at the hotel. No help & when I pointed out that he should have been helping me he just walked off. The so called welcome drinks were limited and the cocktail was a pre made one and again the lady serving was disinterested and rude. We did meet one pleasant person the lady who checked us in. We booked 2 nights despite leaving after 1 night , we just didn’t want to ask for a late checkout. Left the hotel at 6 pm but still we were charged over $50 for each night. No atmosphere, food I saw someone served looked awful. Not sure how this hotel is newly refurbed because it was ok but maybe not the best of finishes. Also the safe was sat under the bar in the room with no way to open the safe. When I pointed this out I was told I should have asked them to move it. Clearly that’s where there safe is positioned & I was not about to alert a hotel we needed a safe , this hotel was shabby at best poorly run for sure Go elsewhere
