Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Royal Lahaina Resort, but there were a few disappointments. Our Expedia VIP status wasn’t acknowledged, so we didn’t receive the room upgrade perk we were hoping for, that was a bit of a bummer. That said, we loved the perks we did receive through Expedia! We got $75 in spending credit, which we enjoyed every day at the hotel’s ice cream shop and during our morning coffee runs. Our stay also included the daily hotel breakfast buffet and two tickets to the Myths of Maui Luau, which made our trip even more memorable. Thank you, Expedia, for making our stay special despite a few minor hiccups!

Mixed Experience – Beautiful Location, But Disappointing Service and rooms The hotel’s location is undeniably stunning. The beach is just steps away and impeccably clean, and the surrounding scenery is absolutely gorgeous—perfect for relaxing or snapping a few memorable photos. The pools were kept at a very pleasant temperature, making them ideal for both daytime lounging and evening dips. One of the highlights was the live music every evening from 6 to 9 PM. It added a lovely atmosphere to our stay, and the performer on Monday nights was especially talented. Unfortunately, the experience inside the hotel didn’t match the beauty outside. We had booked an ocean view room, but were given only a partial view. When we raised the issue, we were told that “full ocean view” actually meant “ocean front,” and that we could switch rooms for an additional $100 plus fee—which felt misleading and unfair. The staff were generally unwelcoming and unresponsive. Our room was not clean upon arrival—there were items left on the floor, stains on the counter, and an overall lack of attention to detail. We requested cleaning service, but no one ever showed up. Despite clear signage prohibiting smoking, guests were openly smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes by the pool, which made the environment less enjoyable. The hotel itself felt quite dated. Carpets smell and are stained. The bathroom and shower lacked basic amenities like towel hooks or hangers, lighting was not enough. Sheets wear thorn.

Great getaway! We were able to relax and not be consumed by the crowds. The staff was friendly and helpful and there was plenty to do at the resort and the food was ok. Def recommend venturing to Whaler’s for more options and things to do.

Not at all satisfied with the stay at the hotel, you have to pay for everything, Room cleaning only After you tell them, a torn chair, no table on the terrace, stains on the walls, bed with stains, paintings with pictures, the whole room in dust Initially, they said that the deposit would return to In full as a result of 500$ returns only 150$ Parking we chose in the search for free as a result paid 300$ near the pool smelled of rotten fruit and alcohol The only advantage is that the ocean is nearby and there is an opportunity to see turtles, I also want to add that all entertainment activities on the territory of the hotel are paid, which is very strange for me

This review is mostly related to the Towers since I did not stay in the bungalows. The tower room is a bit old. You can see the scratches on everything and the rust stains in the bathroom which makes it appear not clean but it is. Once you accept this is not a major modern resort, it is perfectly fine. I really have no complaints, these observations were all just aesthetics. The resort is very low key. I recommend this resort as a home base for all other off resort activities. There is also a complimentary trolley which will take you to the Whaler Village, etc... The staff was great. They were very pleasant and helpful. I travelled alone with no car rental so I had a lot of questions. The food was delicious. The drinks were also superb.

beautiful property and a free trolley service for neighboring hotels and shops. Was very disappointed with customer service at front desk. Called to confirm my booking in advance and was told my reservation showed certain benefits that they refused to honor when I reached the property. Everyone will answer differently and it’s exhausting trying to deal with them. They definitely do not care to keep customers happy but the hotel itself was beautiful and all other staff was good other than customer service.

Check in was perfect and bell service was excellent. Food and drinks were excellent. The property grounds were really nice and we loved the VIP seats at the luau. We stayed in a bungalow with 2 queen beds. Warning - these beds are not Queen and we ended up sleeping in separate beds because they were too small for two people. We have a Queen at home. These are not queens. If you wanted to share with 4 people it would be super cramped. Do not recommend that. Also, room service was every other day. That would have been fine but they skipped our room and we ended up getting no service for 3 days.

Wonderful stay and views, Staff was very helpful, beach right out the hotel, Great breakfast every morning.

Beautiful hotel, next to the best beach in Maui. Service was great and everything was nearby! Would definitely come back and would highly recommend!
