We had a wonderful family vacation and loved the property!

Grounds were pretty. Limited number of chaise lounge chairs at th beach. (Plenty of regular type chairs to rent). Parking barely adequate, and tight. Don’t be surprised by the mandatory cleaning fee after your stay you aren’t told about until check in!

We have stayed here several times and usually love it. This time we were put in a condo that was very uncomfortable. There was little to no ventilation. We asked to be moved and we never got a proper response. I will make sure I can get the room I want or I won’t use them.

Beware. $189 for a single towel exchange. Stayed 5 nights on Honeymoon. No garbage pick up, no setting the bed. Sheets left were too small. No cleaning at all. Poor phone service. Poor customer service, broken fan, many lights out, no aloha spirit. Had to ask 3 times to get complimentary honeymooners gift. Will never return and will let every review to stay away.

We had a one BR suite with an ocean view which was wonderful overall. The carpet was old and the lack Of AC can make it a little warm inside. Still overall the grounds are magnificent the location is perfect and I will definitely return someday. Thank you Kiahuna Plantation

I know its Hawaii I have been going for years. It could really use some AC to escape the heat and the pool closing at 7pm daily was just lame.

Thank goodness for a white noise generator...roosters crowing at all hours, street sounds and stomping kids above...helped dull the sounds. Also to note..no air conditioning . We had expected some condiments such as mustard and ketchup and plastic wrap as we had in other condo rentals but not here. Had to buy and used very little...a waste. Also didn't expect the somewhat lofty cleaning charge. Grounds kept very nice.

Great Place! Beautiful Grounds! Friendly Staff! Close to Shopping Center, Beach, other hotels.

We had a great stay. Came to get married and honeymoon.

This is our second time staying here and perhaps lessons are better learned the hard way. Although the grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the staff amazing, the units are kind of a let down. The main issue is no AC. Yeah, I knew ahead of time but seemed to have conveniently forgotten how absolutely miserable it can get. When its 90F at 75% humidity outside, it is just plain aweful inside. And no, you can't always count on the trade winds, there are times when the air is just still. - After a long day out in the relentless sun, you're just looking for someplace to cool off and collect yourself. Well, it isn't going to be in your room that's for sure. You don't have that sanctuary to look forward to, you have a hot room to look forward to. Although around 12AM it begins to cool off nicely, you're quite hot in the mean time which makes for very uncomfortable sleep. Fans help, but ours made a strange noise so that just created another issue. Also, since you need to keep all the windows open, you're going to hear everything going on outside. People schlepping up stairs, car doors slamming, kids carrying on. Again, no escape. The furniture in our unit was old and creaky rattan. Not very comfortable with scratchy fabric. Looked nice though but in dire need of an update. Pretty sure most units are privately owned and managed by Kiahuna so what you get as far as furnishings will vary. Time to audit the owners and make them upgrade if they want to be listed.

The hotel had beautiful grounds, across from a mall, and was clean but no air conditioning which made it miserable! Most staff were not helpful…no knowledge of anything in the area. They didn't clean all week yet charged $140 when we left to clean. It should be included int he price!

This was our second stay at Kiahuna. The last time was 10 years ago. The facility is still in excellent condition. Our unit had recently been upgraded. We like to Kiahuna because of its proximity to the Sheridan Beach which we consider to be the best swimming beach on the island. We'll be back.

Our stay at the Kiahuna Plantation Resort by Outrigger far exceeded our expectations. We truly felt like it was our home away from home. Our condo was clean and cozy, the staff was professional and friendly, and you cannot beat the location. I would recommend this establishment to my friends and family.

Pros: Excellent location and great value. The grounds are well manicured and the beach is spectacular. Pool is across the street and a few minutes walk. Walking distance to some nice restrauants, shopping and Starbucks. Cons: There is no a/c which probably isn't usually an issue with the trade winds. Unfortunately it was above average temps and humid while we were there which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. Our unit was a bit outdated - ripped sofa. Bed linens could use updating (they had an odor). Mildew throughout shower.

I suspect this resort can be really great or really average depending on what and where your unit is. Could be really nice up by ocean but was pretty noisy near back part of resort where our unit was and unit was in just OK shape. 1BR units don't have much privacy in the BR if kids are in the living room. Our unit was not updated and could really use some TLC. Though nothing was terrible, for what you can get these days on various timeshare rental sites, this was not a great deal.

Clean with great beach for swimming or snorkeling. Private, quiet and relaxing. Great value.

Great location to beach and the island in general. Condo had a great bed. No beach toys however so I left them a boogey board and some tubes.

We stayed at Kiahuna Plantation 14 years ago and my recollection was that is was quite nice. We had access to the pool at the Sheraton back then. Now, no pool access!!! Bathroom yucky after a few days. Smelled moldy, full of sand and water, hard to clean. They should really clean EVERY room mid week if you are staying more than 7 nights. Also disliked all shuttered interior and exterior doors. No privacy in unit (e.g. master bedroom and bathroom). Maybe because we had flash flood warnings coming in on our cell phones 2 of the days, but it was super humid/wet in the unit. Honestly, will stay at Marriott next door next time. Yes, beach location good. But we were in garden view, so super far from beach.

For facility and amenities, the property is overpriced. No daily housekeeping, (while on vacation I don't want to have to pick up and do the dishes. We didn't realize this and then spent 4 days dealing with sand. They will bring you fresh towels if you call and ask) Beach front hotel ?? (our room was a 3 block walk to the beach) No pool, no on-site breakfast or lunch facility. No air conditioning. This was huge for us, but I know a few folks who would have been uncomfortable. This is a owner/rented condo facility managed by the Outrigger Corp. On the plus side: The grounds are lovely and well cared for and situated on PoiPo road, it is a good location. Across from the shopping village and a few dining spots.
