If you are looking for a fancy hotel/resort, this is NOT the place to stay. If this hotel/orbits had given us a heads up that it was under construction before we booked it, we would have booked another hotel. We had to pay for resort fees each day when there was no resort at the hotel. The pool was closed-which we knew ahead of time, but to charge us for the resort was ridiculous. They Never even told us about a "sister hotel" where we could have used a pool. We hard staff tell other people the day before we left. We got there on a Monday and by Tuesday, they left us a letter advising "emergency work" would be done on thursday, and the power was going to be out from 9am-9pm. We made plans to be out of the hotel as long as possible and returned back at 9pm with the power still out. They did not turn the power back on until 10pm. We had to be up at 4 am for our flight the next morning so it was super annoying not to be able to packup until we had power. The staff was nice enough to let us know they would refund us for the inconvenience which I assumed we'd be a refund for at least half of what a day cost.. NOPE, they refunded us alright, $50 dollars!!! Without the access of using their stove or microwave, that didn't even help the cost of food for 5 people for the day! This was our very first time in Hawaii and we will not be returning to this hotel.
No pool, power outage fo 13 hours, people coming in to measure countertops, the rooms smelled of mold and were very uncomfortable lumpy beds, lots of construction, and very noisy. All around bad experience. I blame Orbits for all this, you should have NEVER book this hotel for our family. I was there to celebrate the end of my cancer treatments, this was a huge disappointment. NEVER again will I book anything with Orbits!!!
Ohana East is my go-to hotel when I’m in Waikiki; affordable and close to the beach.
Get the pool fixed asap
Very nice corner room with large balcony.
The location is good but the room is outdated. People in front desk are real nice and helpful. I stayed on 6fl but still heard the noise from the streets. If you want the view , i don't think ohana east is good for you.

Pool was under renovations and my room was close enough to hear jack hammering throughout the day.
Liked location, didn't like bed mattresses.
Everyone was very friendly, so many options for dining and walking distance from the beach. I was very unhappy about having to pay an extra resort fee that was not mentioned when it was booked, especially since the pool was down during our entire stay. They did redirect us to their sister location for the pool, but it was disappointing how small the pool was… not to mention they were trying to share it between two huge hotels. Lastly, the parking fees 😳 $35 a night for five nights adds up, so it definitely would have been nice to know that ahead of time and we would have booked elsewhere considering there were so many options in that same area.
The hotel was fantastic from the moment we checked in. They gave us an early check-in and put us on the penthouse level with a private elevator. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and all of Waikiki. We could not have been happier.
