Hotel is clean, staff were friendly, easy access to highway and lots of restaurants a close drive away. The shower was hot with good pressure. Breakfast was quite good, with a eggs, sausage, make your own waffle, and an assortment of breads. Would stay again.
Rented a suite here and it was the perfect size for my family. It was clean and quiet and in a central location for getting around the area. The swimming pool was handy for my nieces as they enjoyed it, unfortunately the slide was not in working order while we were there.
Perfectly good hotel located near a shopping mall and various eateries. Room was very well equipped and was clean and very presentable. The pool was a good size for city centre hotels and was clean, unfortunately the waterslide was out of action. Breakfast had a very good selection of hot and cold food but served on polystyrene plates, I understand the reasoning for this but feel that the food was of a good standard and was worthy of crockery.
Stayed here as a stopover on Rocky Mountaineer. For such a prestigious train journey, shame about this place. Smelt awful in the rooms. Stale cigarettes and road noise prevented sleep. If Kamloops wants to be the main stop on route for this fabulous train, they need to up their game. I would say this is a 2* hotel when you are paying 5* train journey prices.
Very clean, very Comfortable. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Adaisy. It is our first stay in a Comfort Inn but won't be my last. Very impressed and would recommend this Hotel. Parking also available which makes things easy.
When I was checking in I was informed that they don't accept aarp discount cards,The desk clerk did not even know what it was. After getting in the room I rechecked the comfort inn website and yes they do accept aarp cards .I figured no problem I will straighten it out in the morning.Differnt clerk in the morning.still said I don't what this card is. I showed her on the website . Her response was I should have told them when I check in.they have already charged it to my card and can change it I left there feeling I was taken advantage of . I have stayed at this hotel al most every time I drive thru Kamloops .This Is my last time. The room was in need of renovation also. Not worth the money anymore
This is a hotel I will never stay in again. The facility was a standard hotel but with the water slide not working and the workout area locked the one evening I checked. Also, the room keys would not work and had to get them redone. BUT the front desk staff had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We attended as a team and used the breakfast area in the evening to eat together. It was a common area that was open (not blocked of). We used it and left it completely clean. They did not like us using the area. We were not causing any trouble. They told us that "we should be happy they are allowing us to use it at all". They told us there were complaints but it could not have been us as we had curfew at 10 p.m. and were in our rooms. Were informed that there was not to be any socializing. Cannot be in the parking lot etc. It went on and on. If you do not want teams staying there, then do not take their bookings. We left a lot of money at this hotel and we were treated terribly. My advice - never stay at this hotel.
As a facility the hotel what I expected, with clean comfortable rooms. However the customer service left something to be desired. Being in the hospitality business myself, for 17 years, if i had treated my customers this way, i would have no customers or no business. We were in town for a sporting event and were 1 group out of 4 groups using this facility. The front counter staff didnt seem to appreciate our business and infact made it seem we were an inconveince to them. Most hotels would be pleased to have 4 days with every room sold out. Our team alone spent approx $10,000 in room rentals for those days. Yet we where chastised at every turn... our children yelled at and swornat for being outside, our parents chastised for visiting/using the breakfast room in the afternoon and evening and overall unfriendly to our group. We have been travelling with our kids sports teams for ten years now and this has been the single worst experience at the least accomodating hotel that we have been at. I would rate this experience a zero if I could.
They advertise that you can breathe easy because they are smoke free however my room had obviously never been renovated since that policy came into effect. All of my belongings smelled of cigarette smoke . If you stay on the freeway side you will not get any sleep due to the road noise. The WiFi was basically non existent in my room. The waterslide was out of order and one of the front desk clerks was rude and completely unaccommadating. Don't bother talking to the manager because she does not belong in the hospitality industry. My 13 year old daughter went outside with her friend to get a key card from her mother when the manager flew into the parking lot and told the girls to get the f#*? Back to their rooms. She also had a great big dog barking at them. My daughter was scared and crying. I have stayed at over 100 different hotels and this was the worst yet.
Very disappointed in the service we received in this hotel. We paid them good money to the amount of 9,600.00 in total to be treated horribly. The front desk specifically Grace was very unprofessional and rude to not only our group of parents but other guests as well. I witnessed her treat an elderly couple with complete disrespect and ignorance when we were both checking in at the same time and the attitude and rudeness continued our entire stay. She was completely unaccommodating and rude to our group. The front desk manager Carrie drove up at approximately 10pm, swerved at our girls got out of her jeep with her huge dog and yelled profanities at our 13 year old daughters who were accompanied by an 18 year old older sister for being in the parking lot, I was around the corner from where the girls were; tried talking to her after and she just kept putting her hand up to me and wouldn't talk about the situation. These girls were so scared they wouldn't come out of their rooms after. There were two other teams staying at the hotel as well and we feel as though they confused us with another group possibly and would not listen to us when we said which group we were. We came all the way to Kamloops from Saskatchewan for Western Baseball Championships and were treated like we were criminals in this establishment, not to mention the wifi was very slow and didn't always work, we had problems with the ac, and our room keys not working. This experience alone makes me question if I would even stay at another Comfort Inn. I will be escalating this situation to higher management.
