We live on Vancouver Island and had family visiting from the UK and Ontario. We decided to meet up in Vancouver and stayed at the Rosellen suites . We are regular visitors to Vancouver but have never discovered this hotel before. It isn't a full service hotel but is much better and it feels like home. Our three suites had furnishings that are comfortable , spacious and clean and have full kitchens. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The location is superb. Quiet, and half a block from Stanley Park and great walking into the city centre via Coal harbour offering fabulous views of the harbour and north shore mountains. It will be our "go to place" whenever we visit Vancouver and we highly recommend it.
We used travelzoo to book this hotel for one night stay. We booked for one bedroom but upon arriving they offered a two bedroom for small up charge so our twins would have own room. We declined and he wasn't pushy. We were pleasantly surprised when he upgraded us to the two bedrooms so our girls could be comfortable. The hotel too was like an apartment and the kitchen well equipped. We were happy with location quick walk to stanley park and ten minute walk to Safeway and great restaurants. Would definitely recommend and return again. A little gem in the city.
Over all we really enjoyed our stay here, although we didn't get one of those cool looking rooms advertised. what we did get was a small apartment style room but much bigger than an average hotel room. The little kitchen was well equipped and functional. The best part of course is the location to the park, literally across the street. We were really happy about this location and price,
Stayed in this place last visit, very quiet and spacious, convenient for transportation, restaurants, and walking distance to the beach and downtown. Staffs are very helpful and thoughtful. Going back next month, reserved already John (Belgium)
We really enjoyed our stay at The Roselyn Suites. It was like being in our own little apartment instead of a traditional hotel. We walked to Davies Street and did some shopping and came back to our room and used the full kitchenette to make dinner. Kent Chan was the manager on duty and was so accommodating. I wasn’t sure at first but after we checked out the next day I was reminiscing and we really enjoyed our stay. When booking let them know you require a parking spot. The location is fantastic - you can literally walk out your door and you are at Lost Lagoon or go the other direction and you can walk the other direction and you are in the west end! We will definitely go back we really enjoyed it!!! Thanks Kent Chan for making our visit extra special😀
We have stayed at the Rosellen twice, and have decided that going forward, this is definitely going to become our "home away from home" in Vancouver. It is so much better than staying in a hotel. We have more privacy, more flexibility, and a lot more room. The location is ideal. It is walking distance to Stanley Park and other attractions. Denman Avenue is just two blocks away. On Denman Avenue, there are plenty of shops and restaurants. There is a Safeway and a convenience store in the area as well, so stocking up on food for the suite is definitely an option, should you prefer not to always eat in restaurants. You definitely do not feel like you are staying in a touristy hotel district. The Rosellen is in a residential area, and it is easy to feel more like you are among the locals. The staff is helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Rosellen Suites.
It is not a Hotel but an VERY OLD Apartment Building. OK for two couples. We had a two bedroom, two bathroom suite (?) with dining room and kitchen. Desperately needs to be updated. Manger was not the friendliest. Elevator was a pain. What is best about the place? GREAT LOCATION AND QUIET STREET. It's a lovely walk to Stanley Park.
This in a old apartment building with some updates. I felt like we were staying in an Ikea show home except the kitchen and bathrooms were not renovated. The kitchen was cramped, dated and tiny but for downtown Vancouver... it worked. The cleaning staff leave a few things... chips, chocolate bar, water, tea... The place wasn't the cleanest during our stay... it wasn't filthy or anything, but the kitchen still had food residue on it and the pot holders had food on them. Our toilet leaked throughout our stay. We notified the staff the night before we left. It looks like it was previously repaired but not well. It sounded like they were going to deal with it. It was still gross and we should have said something sooner but we were time constrained and the guy at check in was difficult to understand. The other guy was excellent! Checking in and out with luggage was difficult. There is really no place to legally park to check in. The street is for permit parking only. There is no elevator from the parking garage to main level. Staff were friendly and polite. This is a quite building. No parties. You will see tons of signs - NO parties. We loved that but were unsure if they would have an issue with our noisy 3 year old. The parking was $31.50 per day with taxes. Vancouver has a 26% parking tax. Ridiculous Van! The location is EXCELLENT. It is a very short walk to the spectacular Lost Lagoon and Stanley Park and seaside walk/ride.
My fiancee and I recently enjoyed a long weekend stay at the Rosellen Suites, and were really pleased with the location (quiet neighborhood, but less than 5 minutes on foot from some epic restaurants on Robson Street), price (very large, comfortable suite for less than a small hotel room would have cost), and friendliness of staff. Some reviews on this site have complained bitterly about the elevator, so we were surprised to find virtually nothing unusual about it other than its age - and the fact that you need to open the door to it yourself. We would certainly come back and stay here again!
Expedia connected me with this ‘hotel’. An old apartment building. After confirming via phone while in cab I was turned away upon arrival and after having checked in. I disclosed I was a person with disability and was kicked out. I was assaulted with hate speech and insults as I was literally chased out into the rain. I have video which is going to the media of their manager screaming at me as I try not to cry, Lawsuits and human rights complaints have been filed.
