The Sutton Place Hotel - Vancouver

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Sutton Place is an outdated hotel that is overpriced for what you get. Upon arrival there was old toothpaste from prior guests left on the counter that went unnoticed, the shower was also dirty. Beds were very comfortable and the staff was great.

Superb location, great helpful staff, and comfortable beds and room!

Very good location....very comfortable...enjoyed staff at the breakfast buffet and the concierge staff...only downside was the long and I suspect unusually long wait for a cab to the airport.

Valet driver ran my vehicle into a column and Sutton Place merely stated that valet company is a subcontractor so they had zero liability.

Very nice rooms and very friendly staff! Hotel was in a great location to walk and explore Vancouver.

Great city with lots of sights to see! Easy walking to the harbor or any restaurant

We were so pleased to be able to walk a few blocks to the art museum, wonderful shopping and the port frontage streets with views of the bay.

Grand charm. Up to date but still has a grand hotel feel. Our previous Vancouver stay was at the Fairmont, which renovated their lobby, etc. We like Sutton better.

Everyone was very accommodating, the rooms were beautiful, the tub great for soaking, the pool and outdoor sunning area was refreshing and had a ping pong table as well. There is a lot of downtown noise, but it is right downtown, and didn't prevent sleeping or relaxing. Close to trolley and tour stops, next to grocery store, has a convenience shop right inside, and a fantastic restaurant on site.

Super helpful staff, friendly! We dropped our bags and hit the streets. Very convenient for enjoying downtown- tons of shopping, entertainment nearby- easy walk to Stanley Park

The Sutton Place Hotel was a wonderful place to stay after our Alaskan Cruise was over. The rooms were very nice and the staff was very helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Injured my knee is a cruise and the hotel made sure I was comfortable

Nice clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. The location was perfect walking distance to shopping on Robson Street.

This hotel is a surprise as it is not one of the newer breed. The room and staff were knowledgable and warm. Our room was a good size, quiet and we found the bed to be super comfortable. I had a massage in the Vida Spa. It was perfect. All in all a high mark for Sutton Place.

Great location, friendly staff. Classic hotel. Exceeded my expectation. Very recommended.

I'd rate this as a good 3-4 star hotel. Staff is great. Rooms aren't quite large. Service is good.

Excellent downtown location. Guests are treated as if they are special by the staff; extremely polite. Standard rooms not exceptional; could have been any major chain. One MAJOR complaint!! The king mattress was completely worn down on one side so one person slept in a "valley"; needed to be replaced yesterday. High charges for wi-fi, even in lobby. High charge for bottled water in room, when many moderately priced hotels offer complimentary upon arrival. TV did not work easily ; watch your charges at departure; 3 movies were incorrectly added to our bill.

This was our first time in Vancouver, so not knowing what to expect, we wanted to pick a hotel in the downtown area. Sutton Place is nestled between major streets in the downtown area, a short walk to shopping and restaurants, etc. However, having rented a car, we didn't get to benefit from the location as much, since getting around in Vancouver and parking wasn't the problem we feared. The hotel was quite busy, the lobby packed every time we went in and out. Our room was in the 4th floor, i.e. not much of a view and with a big party on the 2nd floor very noisy. The bed and pillows were the least comfortable we experienced at any hotel. If we had to do it again, we would probably opt for a place with better comfort and not pay this much for the location.

Most hotels offer free Wi-Fi. This one did not, and it charged you a premium. Parking was also not included, and it was extremely expensive.

Great hotel Great location Nice room Enjoyed the hotel and restaurants
