Staff are excellent! Location is great!

Check in staff, restaurant staff and and everyone we interacted with were excellent! The location with the views of the harbour are beautiful. The breakfast buffet was also good. We had a couple things with our room that we should mention. Nothing major but we had some water built up on the windowsill. We also found a dirty fork in our room and these are minor issues but do need to be mentioned. Also, we like the outdoor hot tub, but unfortunately the Jets weren’t working so that was a disappointment.

The staff are great, and the hotel is in a great location. However, it's listed as a 5-star hotel, and it's simply not that. I've stayed in Sandman Hotels in Edmonton that are nicer. The hotel is extremely dated. They also seem to have an issue with their elevators, so you can wait for 20 minutes to get up and down. This seems to be an ongoing issue based on other reviews. It also has constant chaos in the lobby with new cruise guests constantly arriving. Ultimately, this should be a 3-star hotel now. Maybe it was a luxury 5-star in the 90's, but if you're looking for luxury, try somewhere else.

Elevator Delays make Angry Guests

Hotel is ranked higher than what is the reality. Kudos to Dawn in the lounge, great service...however, during our two day stay there were 4-5 conferences per day plus at least one cruise ship in port. Hotel did not inform prior to arrival that 2 of the 4 elevators were not working (2 plus months). Guests were having to wait 15 -20 minutes for an elevator: guests bacame rude to other guests as they tried to pack the elevator. They were frustrated as they needed to board their cruise. This situaton poses a significant fire and safety concern. Stairwells were not well marked and thru access was not achieveable. Moving that many guests in and out daily, meant piles and piles of luggage and people at the front entrance. Hotel manager deferred the complaint to the elevator company. They did indicate the staff service elevator could be used. I frequently travel to Vancouver, but definitely not coming back to the Pan Pacific. Plus, only double beds for rooms with two beds.

I am on a Mobility scooter and elevators are important to me. The elevator to the rooms was not working and had to wait forever. The elevators that went from the lobby to the parking garage, one was broken and the other one took forever too.
