We booked this through Expedia about 30 minutes before we stopped. It was a midnight stop to get us some rest to drive more the next day. Our room had a very musty, moldy smell. The a/c didn’t work. There was also a pile of broken a/c units outside of our room. So, I’m thinking they knew it was a problem. Our paper coffee cups that were on top of the coffee maker had mold on them. Wonder how long they were there and nobody switched them out. Gross. We were exhausted and went to sleep without reporting it. We just wanted to sleep. Breakfast was pretty good. We got there last minute and I don’t think the employee was especially thrilled but she wasn’t rude.
We stayed here one night while traveling. The room was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful . Breakfast was continental and was as expected. There was terrible construction going on around the hotel that made access difficult. This is no way the hotels fault and I only mention it so you can be prepared. I would definetly stay again.
Until now, my experiences with Super 8 have all been positive. I can't say the same for this Super 8, which I view as barely passable. The room, which was exceedingly small with an unusual floor plan, had an odd odor. The chair, perched crookedly (perhaps a broken leg?) alongside the bed, had a horrible stain in plain view. Even with all the lights on, the room looked dingy. The batteries continually fell out of the television remote, which also was smudged. Not very welcoming after a nine hour slog from Northwest Florida. Considering all the positive reviews, perhaps my experience is unusual. Maybe they gave me the worst room in the place. The motel is situated in a dreary backwater area in a sea of fast food and other bland chain businesses. The Super 8, except for the sign, is barely visible from the road. Numerous signs on the building walls were posted warning patrons to keep their cars locked, along with the ominous statement that damage to cars was not the responsibility of the management. In itself, the signs made sense, but didn't really bring about a secure feeling, instead a concern that vandals and thieves might lurk nearby. I was traveling alone this time, but if my kids had been with me, i would have left and gone somewhere else. There are a few positives. The room was relatively clean despite the dull unwelcoming appearance. The two employees I encountered were working hard and were friendly. The television and air worked, as did the wifi. That said, I should have considered the Best Western next door. This room ran $78 on a weeknight in an area I can't imagine is in high demand for tourism. That isn't an outrageous rate for a budget motel, but considering everything, it's worth maybe $45.
The registration was simple and pleasing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Had everything I needed.
Nothing spectacular but no problems either. Room was clean and bed was quite comfortable. I guess you can't ask for much more. The desk personnel were very courteous. I probably sho I hold give a little higher rating bot just can't quite do it. I would stay here again as long as the price is right.
When I checked in, I was advised there had been a problem with the TV remote the day before, and it had been incorrectly programmed and no longer worked, so I can't fault the motel for that. HOWEVER, after unpacking my things, I discovered the deadbolt to the door would not engage, no matter what I did. It was too late to move, so I locked what I could and propped a chair under the door. Remotes are one thing - personal safety is another.
I arrived later than expected Jason, on night shift was very understanding & helpful. He greeted me with a smile & a
Stopped after riding in the rain all day. The Jackson Super 8 was where we landed. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was outstanding, clean and everything was in place. The breakfast was also a plus and there are several steak houses and fast food joints within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone when they are in the area.
