3rd time staying at the Park Vista, and it's a fine hotel and provides for a comfortable, quiet stay above Gatlinburg away from the potentially louder streets. This is an older hotel, and they've tried to modernize it by updating carpets and painting and such, however they've spent no money on updating the showstoppers - the bathrooms are very small and cramped with a toilet and older style tub/shower combo in a tiny closet next to the sink and mirror which is basically open-air to the room. The rooms look MUCH larger in the photos than the actually are. The plumbing is SUPER loud and if you turn the water to a decent hot temperature, you'll hear all sorts of screeching and banging going on in the pipes behind the wall. This also is heard by your neighbors on both sides, as well as above and below. Your neighbors showers will also be super loud and annoying when it's midnight and you're trying to sleep and all you hear is their screeching clunking pipes from their shower.
As long as you're paying close to $150 a night, I would recommend this hotel. Anything more than that is not a deal for this aging property. The quality of the food is not good for the price ($40 pizzas LOL) and you're far better off going out to eat.
