Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt City Hauptbahnhof4.0 out of 5.0

Hotel is very close to the central train station as well as to the shopping area and main river. Rooms have been renovated recently and are good. Breakfast selection is small, but very tasty. Staff is friendly and very uncomplicated.
We chose this hotel for its convenient location, not far from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, which is only 15 minutes from the airport, and also because of the consistent standard of Holiday Inn Express hotels. As expected the rooms were fresh, modern, and spacious, with excellent facilities. Tea and coffee in the room were very welcome. Our only complaint was the size of the beds. I think we had a queen sized bed on our first stay (a room with a separate couch), but it seemed no bigger than a double. The second room contained only one bed, a double, but the smallest double bed we’ve seen – more suited to a single guest. The breakfast buffet had a range of the usual cold meats, cheeses and boiled eggs, cereals, and baked goods. The staff were excellent: friendly and helpful. Almost a five star stay, except for the small beds.
My family and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The room was good enough. The hotel also offers a good breakfast. The only problem we had was finding a parking space. The hotel offers a parking garage but during the three days we stayed there we were never able to park there, it was always full. Parking on the street was not always easy and it was very expensive. The location of the hotel is good and it is close to the main attractions of the city.
A pleasant stay in a good hotel. Although towards the budget end of mid-range, and thus a good price choice, Holiday Inn Express is slightly more expensive than others in its hotel class. But worth the few extra Euros I think, as both the location and the rooms are definitely above average. The hotel's modern and clean, with an exceptionally helpful staff. It's within 5 minutes walk to the main train station - which is great in terms of convenience, great restaurants, bars and shops. But means that street life is fairly 'colourful' outside ... worth noting that the hotel has very good security, requiring a key card to access the life and gain access into the corridors with rooms. My room was big, clean, modern and light. And much, much larger than the usual shoebox-sized room that you'd expect in the city centre. It had a large double bed, a nice bathroom, a decent work area, tea and coffee making facilities, and fast, free wifi. Breakfast is good, and there's also a bar. I'd return again in the future (in fact I have just booked a room for my next visit to Frankfurt), as I found the hotel to be definitely above average for this class of hotel.
The Housekeeping team is very noise... the room is small. The location is ok if you are looking this part of the city, close to the main train station. The breakfast is very poor without quality... and the waiters are rude... the internet is not working properly...
Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt City Hauptbahnhof is good choice for not so expensive stay in Frankfurt. I was there two times and hotel was OK. Breakfast was OK. Hotel is near to city center and main station.
1 more working weekend in Frankfurt. Excellent service, late service in the bar, which was useful for me, because of working lat evia the internet. Excellent WiFi, fast enough for seamless working remotely via the VPN connection to the customer. Breakfast not high class, but again good enough for me, fresh bread and cheese suits me fine
Conviniently located to all business centres and to the main railway station.Decent staff with all modern amenities.Neat and clean.Sorrounded by good eating places catering to all walks of people and nationalilties. Breakfast menu needs a change.
We arrived the hotel near midnight, and we discovered that our room was sold. I have chosen several times IHG hotels for business and myself, and I have never had such kind of problem, which is unacceptable from my personal point of view. The hotel staff re-located us in Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt - Messe, nearby but not centric at all. Our stay in Frankfurt was very short, and that's exactly why we planned the hotel location laboriously. I'm very disappointed with this incident, and I will carefully think about booking again Holiday Inn.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week and it was terrific. Our flight arrived early in the morning but we were able to get into our room a couple of hours before official check-in time. The staff was friendly and helpful every single day, from getting us a cab, to helping us figure out how to make a collect call, to getting us an iron and ironing board, to sending out postcards (they all speak English, which was a big help to us as well since we do not speak German). The room, while small, was immaculate, comfortable, with nice furnishings, a big flat screen television, a coffee maker, and a bathroom with a great big shower. Some hotels I have stayed in, for much more money per night, give you a big buffet style breakfast. With Holiday Inn Express in Frankfurt you pay a lot less for each night and you get practically the same breakfast, minus the scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. This hotel's breakfast had fresh fruit, bread, fresh rolls, croissants, a lot of homemade jams, hard boiled eggs, cereals, plain yogurt and yogurt with fresh fruit, cold cuts (liverwurst, salami, cheese, bologna, etc.), hot and cold milk, apple and orange juice, cappuccino, coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, etc., etc. WONDERFUL! The hotel also has a lovely little bar and lounge which is very welcoming and comfortable, AND you get free drinks each day you tell them housekeeping does not have to clean your room (good for the environment and good for my wallet). I did not travel with my own electronic device this trip but the hotel has a computer and printer in the lounge, in a little cubicle, for guests to use and it is free. NOT every Holiday Inn Express is like this - we stayed at one in Glasgow that was not nearly this nice (their staff, having to pay to use their computer, rooms that were not super clean) and I almost did not book THIS hotel based on my experience in Glasgow. Nevertheless, I took a chance and I am SO HAPPY that I did and went with this Holiday Inn! I would stay here again in a heartbeat - HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
