Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt City Hauptbahnhof

The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the train station, close to, but outside of the red light district. I felt safe walking from the station to the hotel. It is a comfortable 10 minutes walk into the main centre and is close to the financial district. Being located slightly further out, it is quieter and there are less people hanging around on the streets. The hotel is well presented and clean, though is clearly a holiday inn express. Check in was short and sweet and was given a room upgrade (I am an IHG loyalty scheme member, so was awarded through the scheme). The hotel is secure, having to use the keycard to activate the lift and a door into the corridor, before getting to the room. My room was located at the back of the hotel so was blissfully quiet. The room size was very generous with a lounge area with a sofa. Double size bed was comfortable. As with all Holiday Inn Express hotels, the bathroom was very small, however it was well presented. The shower was invigorating. My only gripe was that the safe in the room did not work, however the level of security in the hotel meant that it was not a major concern for me. The hotel does not have a restaurant however there are plenty to choose from in the area. There is a good Chinese restaurant across from the hotel. I didn't eat there, but it was full and people waiting to go in, so it must be good. Breakfast is limited to cereals, cold cheese/meats and tea/coffee, but this was expected. Midday checkout worked well for me and again was painless. If staying in Frankfurt again I would consider using this hotel again.

This charming little hotel is close to Frankfurt Central Station The hotel is clean and tidy Beautifully decorated Spacious rooms Large, clean shower There are many supermarkets and restaurants nearby We took two rooms for a couple and an additional room for a couple and 2 children Breakfast was great The hotel was very quiet The only drawbacks we found at the hotel are: A toilet lid interferes with lowering water The sink is high The shower should be gentle with the tap if not the water is boiling On television, it's very hard to transfer channels We always had 2 towels, even though we were 4 people Besides the hotel is highly recommended compared to hotels in the area

This hotel is within walking distance from Frankfurt's main train station Hauptbahnof. Decent room size for a Holiday Inn express hotel. militaristic restaurant. The staffs are great and are always ready to help.

Not being familiar with Frankfurt and after being accosted by numerous homeless and probable users on exiting the train station, to get here I grabbed a cab and passed the driver a bonus for the trip. On arrival check in was a breeze and the reception staff pointed out some good restaurants in the area for something to eat. Also being on the edge of the Red Light District made for interesting sights and sounds. Like a lot of Holiday Inn Express the rooms are minimalist in form, function and design but come on, NO fridge. IHG you can get some decent energy saver units that will not effect you green/save energy efficiency drive, in fact the turning off and on again of lights using the keycard is more inefficient. The rooms were spacious, beds relatively firm and pillows a mixture of soft and firm. Like most of the hotels on this trip the air conditioning was an issue to get adjusted correctly but it seems the Europeans like to baste than be cool. One suggestion for IHG is that the power outlets on the desk be changed to outlets that have USB sockets to make things more universal as power adapters are becoming inefficient and a nuisance seeing all mobile equipment is usually using a USB cable. If traveling by train this is the perfect location with the main HBF train station with in ten minutes walk. Be prepared to he hassled at times on the way to the hotel. Yes, if I'm back this way n the future I will probably in more likelihood stay here again. On condition it's not a public holiday and all the stores are closed.

We stayed here for one night prior to catching a flight. The hotel is well located in a side street which is a 10-15minute walk from the main train station. It is a modern looking building and we had a comfortable, quiet room with a good-sized bathroom. Breakfast is included in the price and is the usual buffet arrangement, served in a fairly large dining room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and amazingly quick and efficient at clearing tables and replenishing food. The hotel has a small bar open until 01:00. The area near the hotel seems to be predominantly Turkish with a range of food outlets. It is only a 10-15 minute walk to the old town (the Aldstadt) and the river which are well worth a visit.

I have stayed at a few Holiday Inn expresses and whilst they are not top end, they are clean, tidy and reasonable in price. This one is no different and is almost ideally located between the station and the city. The only downside is you need to be open minded about the red light district and the homeless people around which make the area a bit shabby. I think the area is reasonably safe though and therefore if you are after something convenient don’t be put off.

1. Room conditon : ★★★★☆ - size : sifficient size for 1 or 2 persons. - toilet and shower booth : nice - it's some nosy from outside. - no refrigerator 2. Environment arround the hotel: ★★★★ : there are many resturants and bars. It is a hotel close by Hbf. But, there are many strange people in night time. 3. Sightseeing and shoppong : excellent location. Any land marks can be approached by walking. -

I'm spire level with IHG Rewards Club. I stayed for three days in Sept/Oct. Staff were well meaning, but unable to resolve issues. The room was HOT. I asked for someone to repair the A/C but was told it was working properly. When I questioned the staff I was told there is one unit for the entire building and it cannot keep up. They simply set it for heat, or cool. The in room controls have virtually no effect on the temp in the room. I was told to open the windows. I have a digital thermometer on my phone. I managed to lower the temp from 83 degrees F to 71 degrees F by midnight by leaving both windows completely open. I did that for the entire three days. I did have to close them during the rain. The open windows interfered with the desk and bed. There was no top sheet, only a heavy duvet/comforter, so I slept with nothing above me. The next day the room heated up again, but not as much. The TV didn't work, and took two troubleshooting calls, after which they plugged it into one of the desk outlets... leaving only a single plug for all my electronics. The only source of ice was on the first floor... and only in Styrofoam cups. They said they had no ice buckets. I said I felt cheated and thought some discount was warranted. I asked to speak with the manager, and was told he would not be in until the next morning, and he would contact me. He never did. I didn't approach him, but waited for him to approach me. He never did. I had an IHG club room with a double bed, desk with chair, and fold out sofa. The photos on the Website are accurate. There is no coffee table, end table, or even foot stool. There is no place for anyone on the sofa to rest their snack or drink. Be very careful with the shower controls. A turn of one eighth of an inch can change the water from barely warm to scalding hot. Just as the picture shows, there is nothing but empty space. On the plus side, It is a couple of minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof, the building is very secure, the rooms are clean, and the food, while somewhat limited, is tasty and plentiful. However, the eating room gets very crowded at times. I am not generally over critical, but I do expect a certain standard level of service from the IHG group.. This hotel doesn't provide it, and I told them in advance that I would not return.

We stayed for 3 nights to see sites in Frankfurt. Location was excellent, very close walk to train station as well as points of interest to us. Staff was always helpful and responsive. I tend to walk as much as possible when on holiday and aside from train from airport was able to reach all the places we wanted to see with out much effort. Breakfast was what I expect at an HIE. Neighborhood was mixed with the expected denizens of the concrete jungle who like to hang close to train stations but we had no issues.

The hotel is near the main train station but there are better options available based on discussion with others that stayed near by. The hotel rooms are incredibly small as is the bed which is very small. The breakfast room was very crowded and hard to get a table. There is a safe in the room but it is too small to put anything in it except passport and cash (not laptop or any electronics). I would look for another hotel on return to Frankfurt.
