Schlosshotel Kronberg - Hotel Frankfurt5.0 out of 5.0

We felt very welcome upon arrival and the staff did everything to make our brief, 1-night stay a memorable one. This was the last night of our 2 week vacation and we chose it for the relatively short 25 minute drive to the Frankfurt Airport and because it was once the home of Queen Victoria's eldest child, Victoria. It was beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed drinks in the lobby before heading to Jimmy's Bar for dinner (and more drinks.) The room was very comfortable and a good size even though we didn't get the most expensive room they offer. The mini-bar was complimentary, which is always nice. The perfect end to our Christmas vacation in Europe.
My husband and I had the BEST, most magical time at the Schlosshotel! The staff is so kind and accommodating. The hotel is gorgeous and lovingly maintained. You immediately understand the staff takes tremendous pride in their work to ensure you have an unforgettable stay. I have been brushing up on my very limited German, and I have been very anxious about having to use it. Special thanks goes to Andrea and Sebastian in the spectacular restaurant and Afasar the bellman for their considerable patience, kindness, and willingness to speak German with me, even though their English is beautiful! It made our stay extra fun and immediately made me relax knowing it was a safe place to blunder through what I have learned and improve. We cannot recommend this hotel higher. You will truly feel like royalty, and a short walk to the Old Town of Kronberg will complete the illusion that you are a part of a beautiful fairytale. We can’t wait to come back!
Walking through the front entrance the place is imposing, stunning and magical. If you love being pampered, served, and tended to, this is your place. We booked it out of convenience as we needed to be in Kronberg for the weekend, but would not mind visiting again and spending time enjoying the estate. Our room was small but comfortable, with a great and warm bathroom full of amenities. The service is all you need and more. The bar has a wonderful choice of wines. Sadly we did not have time to sample the breakfast.
Members of the twinning association of ABERYSTWYTH have spent this weekend visiting Kronberg the twin town for the annual Christmas Market. A group of members including our town Mayor and Consort tried to visit the hotel for a brief drink and to view the historic interior. We were more than disappointed having travelled such a distance to be refused entry at the door by members of staff. Not the welcome we generally receive by any other establishment in our twin town.
When you step into the Schlosshotel Kronberg it feels like you are stepping into a whole different time. Not only the building itself, the furniture and the stunning art pieces, but also the level of service and personal commitment of every single member of staff is from another century. You really do feel like a guest of Queen Victoria. Everyone should experience it for themselves, have a tea by the fireplace in the big hall, enjoy a exquisite dinner in her Majesty's dining room and sleep on heavenly bedding in very spacious and special rooms. It was truly an unique experience.
Schlosshotel Kronberg is an amazing venue. You are entering an other world, when you are driving into the beautifull park finding the romantic castle at the end of the road. Beautiful historic hotel with incredible artifacts make you feel like living in an other century. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food quality varied from good to Star-quality. Breakfast should be better organized. At least on our morning service seemed disorganized and orders took far to long for a hotel of this quality. I stayed in a welcoming room in a very cumfotable bed and nice bathroom. I loved the English touch everywhere.
This 19th century palace excells mostly by its unique appearance: Despite having all the amenities of a modern hotel it still keeps its royal flair: Exquisit tapestry in the dining rooms, a large fire-place in hall and generous park that invites for a stroll. Most notably though it distinguishes itself by excellent service from the front desk over the service during the meals to the service in the room and at the bar.
We were staying at the Lindner Congress Hotel Frankfurt to be close to the Augenklinik. However, we decided to visit Schlosshotel Kronberg for lunch and explore a venue for future family and friends get together as it seemed ideally located. On account of road construction we had to go around a few diversions, the longer route to get to the hotel. Finally, when we parked and entered the main hotel building, a porter dressed in antique uniform literally blocked us from going even up to the reception area. His simple answer was non-resident guests are not-allowed (unwelcome). I said I want to go up and talk for future bookings. He handed me a one page brochure with a curt response, "here you can find everything you need to know". It had room rates, and details of facilities. I asked if we could have a meal at the restaurants. His immediate response, "the restaurants are open only to hotel guests". I was even shocked to see the SLH Logo. Being a member of the small luxury hotels, I felt disgusted that such a fancy hotel had kept a brash Pförtner to turn away guests at the entrance. Good Luck
My wife and I stayed at the hotel at the end of October, very impressive hotel with wonderful staff. Rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Staff are very friendly and will go out of there way to help you. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant and I have to say that I was a bit disappointed, from what I could see they were understaffed on the night and the two waiters were stretched to their limits, asked for the wine list but had to wait due to the fact that they only had two wine lists, for a restaurant of this quality you would think they could photo copy a few pages. When I finally ordered my bottle of wine it arrived after we had finished our starters which really isn't acceptable. The bar area that they have is a smoking room which just smells stale and of smoke and is not acceptable in this day and age, for non smokers the lounge area is a wonderful place to enjoy a drink but on our last night all hotel guest were not able to use the lounge due to the fact that they were holding a function and were asked to move into the bar area which I was totally unimpressed with. I asked to speak to the manger twice but he or she would not come and see me. As I explained to hotel staff I don't think it's correct or fair for paying hotel guest to loose the lounge area due to a function. If planning to stay at this hotel I would ask if they have any functions on during your stay. Although we enjoyed our stay we walk away not happy with our stay.
We spend one night in this hotel. It is a luxary hotel with a royal flair and a huge park. We had a very good candle-light dinner with excellent dishes and a selection of very good wines. The breakfast was good. The hotel has an excellent service.
