I visit Germany once a year early December for a Christmas trip and to explore the traditional Christmas markets . I booked the Fleming's selection hotel as I read reviews that said it was close to the markets . Arrived on a Thursday evening in December for a 3 night stay . First impressions of hotel were very good. Nice lobby with complimentary coffee and bottled water for guests. Checked in was quick and attentive . I requested a room on a high floor which is what I was given. I was apprehensive about the shower been in the room . But I need not of worried . If another guest is in bed they cannot see into shower area as a wall separates it. shower is amazing . Large , powerful interchangeable heads. Also molton brown products . The toilet is in a separate room . So very private. Each day the room was 're stocked with large glass bottles of both still and sparkling water. Oranges and chocolates on locker for arrival. There is a coffee machine in room. It was a double room but only came with one cup. No big deal though. Big plasma.lots of English channels . Mini bar . Very well priced. Beer . Cola etc No wine though . Would be a nice addition as I do not drink beer. Safe in wardrobe . Iron and ironing board. Dressing robes. Room was absolutely spotless . Cleaned everyday and pillows and bed very comfortable Spa area was so nice. Although I like a pool it was fine without one . In fact . I had the whole spa to myself which was a bonus as I needed to study for an exam. Steam room and sauna . Loungers. Loads of towels and products . And a small gym. The breakfast which was included, had a huge selection. Anything you can think of they had from meats to cheese to cakes . One of the best hotel breakfasts we had. We went to the restaurant on the top floor one evening . I got a vegetarian option which was beautiful and my boyfriend chose a steak which he said was great Location wise . I couldn't of picked a better spot . The markets are an even shorter walk then what Google maps states . My zeil shopping centre beside hotel . 3 min walk . The short distance meant we could float around the markets during the day then return to hotel and relax before heading back out to the markets at night for a few mulled wines. Train station outside the hotel door . Although I didn't use it. Would definitely visit this hotel again . One problem I did experience was a double charge inc deposits . Instead of been charged 436 for my stay . I was charged 1109 . It was an error . And when I returned to Ireland i rang the hotel and it was rectified.
This is the hotel to go to for visiting Frankfurt at Christmas. It is very good value for money as we have been to other pricier, excellent hotels in Frankfurt, which we also liked, so this hotel is an excellent compromise. It is a few steps away from Zeil, my favourite shopping area in Frankfurt, meeting Zeil at Galeria Kaufhof, with the high end shops to one side and other outlets including department stores My Zeil, Karstadt and Peek & Cloppenburg, to the other. This point is also the start of the Christmas Market stalls! You start here and follow streets of stalls to the main market on Romerberg square. So the hotel was in the best possible location. It is right next to Eschenheimer Turm, a lovely late-medieval tower that adds atmosphere to the setting. As regards the hotel itself, very comfortable and clean, excellent breakfast, very nice and helpful staff. Also fruit and chocolates to welcome you, which is a nice touch indeed. Very spacious and modern shower, lovely scented toiletries. Bottled water available daily. The service is excellent and we definitely recommend this hotel.
Fast check-in and check-out with excellent bell hops (I was a bit in a rush to return to the airport, and they found a taxi right away despite traffic jams and a protest going on). The hotel is centrally located, great for business or tourism. I loved the room - a big comfortable bed with a glass enclosed shower. Boutique feeling to it, nice touch and modern. Of course all the amenities were provided and of quality. I ate with colleagues at the restaurant which turns. Excellent food and excellent service. You should definitely take advantage, if just to enjoy the great views of the city. I also had all my breakfasts at the hotel. Large choice, responsive wait staff with a choice of tables or stools if you're alone. A very good choice for anyone staying in Frankfurt.
We arrived on Saturday morning and normally with five star hotel would have expected doorman to greet us but no in fact it was only Monday morning when we were leaving did we see him. Arriving too early to check in the helpful receptionist said it would be fine to leave bags in their storage while we went round the Christmas market. When we arrived back our luggage was still in reception and we took it with us up to the room not very secure. Four hours later there was a knock at door of room to check if we had got our luggage. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was tea and coffee making facilities but once original supplies used they did not replenish them. The downstairs restaurant Lux was not open either on Saturday or Sunday evening so if you wanted to eat in hotel you had to use more expensive Flemings Club. We got the impression that they cater more for business guests Monday to Friday.
I stayed here for two nights this week, not without incident. The first night, I was put in a single room despite having paid for a double and when I went to the front desk to ask to be moved they told me the problem was they were full. I remonstrated further with the front desk staff but he refused to speak in English any further with me and unfortunately my German is not adequate to argue in detail about hotel rooms. Later at 2 am, I spoke to the night duty manager who apologized and told me that he would resolve the situation and that it should have been resolved already. The next night I was moved to a double room and the previous night I wasn't charged for. Overall the rooms are good in the new part of the hotel although the unrenovated rooms have some challenges such as the curtains not covering the windows which may affect your sleep. The sauna and gym are quite small although modern and clean. Breakfast is good and the service is good and the breakfast room is large enough that even on a busy morning it wasn't overcrowded. And other colleagues have had problems at this hotel in the recent past such as turning up to find that they genuinely did not have a room at all because the hotel had overbooked. Keep that in mind if you do choose to stay here but if you're lucky I think you'll have a pleasant stay.
Spent three nights here with family and it is a very nice hotel. Arrived at 0900 and we were able to leave our luggage and come back later for checking in which was no problem. Was asked if we wanted Wifi and was told it was €15 per day but later found out that includes beer and soft drinks from the mini bar and€10 phone calls so was worthwhile. Breakfast was just amazing as multiple hot and cold choices and all very tasty but we had to wait 15 minutes on one of the days due to the hotel being fully booked but were given tea and coffee while waiting. Had a couple of drinks on the rooftop terrace bar with great views although quite expensive. The room we had was lovely and a very good size and was lovely and warm even though it was freezing outside. Very close to the Christmas market and all shopping outlets. A great hotel for short breaks and would recommend it.
Very convenient location for shoppers and town explorers, amazing breakfast, superb design, amazing bar, great view of the city. The most convenient U-Bahn, S-Bahn station (Hauptwache) is just 0,4 km away. I stayed for 6 days and the breakfast had something new each day, everything super quality. The bar is exquisite, you definitely have to have a drink there even if you don’t stay at the hotel. The shower was in the middle of the room, excellent decoration!!! Highly recommended!!!
Excellent location. Beautiful well-designed rooms, and an amazing bar located on the 7th floor, with great view to the city that closes late (1 am) and is ideal for late drinks. Breakfast has space for improvement.
It's now 2.20am and I seriously doubt that I will get any sleep tonight. I'm on the first floor right next to the main road and despite it being early on a Monday morning there is a steady stream of traffic outside. How on earth these rooms have been soubdproofed is beyond me as I might as well be sleeping under the road. Other than that the room is good, check in was very slow as even at 11pm on a Sunday there was a group of 5 checking in and the receptionist didn't seem to feel any sense of urgency. If you want a good night's sleep avoid lower floor rooms on the side of the street, or just about this hotel.
Nice hotel had no issues with the check in or other. Nice top bar and view could be better service but still ok. And as earlier described a bit strange with glasswall shower in the room. But other than that a really good room with all you need. Would recommend
