It started with the search for the parking garage, no signs. Entering the parking and trying to park is only for experts if your car is any bigger than a SMART. Never seen such a small entrance and parking fields. Fortunately it was not full. The whole garage and way to the hotel looks dirty and disgusting. Absolutely a NO GO. The lady at the reception was not really very welcoming. Thought maybe wrong day but she was the same on day two. I had to ask for upgrade as a gold member and her prompt reply was, withouth checking, "I dont hv any information", i told her a bit somehting and voila, she suddenly found my member status. Then she complained that i should tell her before checking in. At that point i gave up and just crossed the Hotel out of my list. The place as well as the room is really small but suprisingly big shower and strong water pressure. The bed was rather new and comfortable. Could sleep with open windows toward the courtyard. Breakfast buffet was nothing exciting, bred selection was good and fresh, the toast looked like it would be there for 3-4 days already. I dont know why the door to the kitchen (which didnt look too cleaned up) was open and why they had to vacuum at 0715hrs in the morning.... if it would have been a IBIS, i would not complain but for over EUR 100/night i would expect something else. But probably due to their location, no need to spruce up the place and staff.
This hotel is near the Frankfurt main station (5 min walk) and you might miss it as there are no bih sign boards. Just 1 min walk form the hotel, you have the tram station and also a underground way to cross over to the main train station. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Indeed from the Airport, I took S Bahn and reached this hotel in 25 min. The Breakfast could have been better for the price and no one was taking care clearly. The reception can improve in a big way. Despite paying for all my 3 nights with breakfast cost in advance, they completely messed it up and asked me to pay again thereby delaying my travel to Airport to catch my flight. Despite remiding them that I paid with my card, they did not believe me. Finally I have to show the SMS luckily stored on my mobile phone and they acknowledged that my payment was not correctly entered in their system The damage done to me in terms of delay for me and also questioning my integrity was terrible.
Under going major refurbishment at the moment, so the public areas are pretty drafty, cold and dusty. Breakfast was pretty limited, but was there, was ok. Take care re location, it’s right in the middle of the red light district...used syringes scattered over the pavement outside and a huge sex shop is next to the hotel main entrance...
The hotel is located 3 minutes walk from the central station. The room was clean and tidy, the staff was friendly. The price was excellent. Although next to the station you will find a lot of homeless people or drug addicts we didn't experience anything bad and the hotel itself is safe.
Location, location, location - the hotel is situated 3 minutes walk from the central station, about 5 minutes of the fair and exhibition centre and about 10 minutes in the banking as well as city centre. The hotel is surrounded by various coffee shops, restaurants etc. It is a typical Mercure hotel, rooms are ok and - outside fair peak pricing - very much okay. The building is not elegant or stylish at all. The rooms facing the street have good windows, so that you hardly hear the traffic. The rooms facing the other side are similar noise level. Allover it's a 3,5 out of 5.
I stayed here whilst on business at the Messe for a trade fair and thank goodness the company I work for stumped up the ridiculously inflated 300 euros for my room for 1 night otherwise I would be crying into my beer! This is a poor 2 star standard hotel - narrow beds, stained carpet, dirty walls, musty smells, no air con, shower in need of descaling, a TV lacking any variety of channels and the slowest lift in Germany! The area outside is seedy, although a coffee shop over the road and to the left does do a great hot drink & pastry for breakfast. The free wi-fi is good and reception staff friendly and the food from the breakfast room did smell good but the main draw is the 10 minute walk up the main road to the Messe and 5 mins walk to the train station. If you don’t need access to those, don’t stay here.
Staff is ok, however the worst thing is the parking lot. Imagine, we hired a 7 seater Ford Galaxy and it took 3 people to help look at the sides to maneuver through the extremely narrow entrance to the underground parking. We took more than 15 minutes just on that particular spot. The parking is Hopeless. The rooms are small and I would consider this too expensive. Rooms are however clean and thus, no issue on cleanliness.
Staffs are not the friendly. They work as they are forced to do it. The room seems nice until I open the toilet room. The shower looks really cheap as I am staying in hostel. There are some smell and even worse, the glasses are super dirty (I left it there for a day and expected that they will see and change it for me but nope, I have to go to lobby and complain about it then I get a new one.
A three stars hotel at the best with five stars prices when you are attending a conference in the trade center. Although the price, the location is excellent for those who don't want to waste 30-45 min in a taxi queue after attending a trade fair.
Receptionist needs lessons in politeness and a better service attitude - worst experience I have had in 25 years of travelling. Following the "welcome" I received while checking in, I do not plan on staying at this hotel ever again.
