This hotel is 10 min walk from the main station in an unremarkable, but clean, part of the city. My room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The large negative was that the WiFi didn’t work in the room. There was a signal but the connection wasn’t fast enough to be at all usable. A hotel without usable WiFi is a hotel that I don’t care to stay at.
Stayed here for one night. Very central to the train station, 5 minute walk but it is not a great area. There was no early check in (2pm) and no lobby to wait in. Staff we not very helpful, nearly rude. Room was small but clean. The bathroom was ok but the water in the shower kept going cold and the pressure was weak. There was nothing superior about the hotel it’s a 3 star functional hotel in a central location.
I booked this hotel without really knowing what to expect at the price point offered given that it was really good value compared to what I could find in the area. It is worth noting that cheaper hotels were available but these were in the heart of the red light district, a place I did not want to be at given reviews I have read online. However, the Corner Hotel offered a great option close to the main haupbahnhof (hope I got the spelling right, but it's the main train station). It is located literally three or five minutes walk to this station. There is also a team stop like a minute's walk from this hotel. It's also within walking distance to the Frankfurt Messe so ideal to get there. I will not deny that there may at times be a few young guys in hoodies. From the sense I got, they seemed to be dealing drugs. They tried approaching me and I plain outright just ignored them and they did not miver me further. To be honest did not even listen to them so cannot be sure what they wanted or were offering. The hotel has a receptionist available 24/7 and can be accessed using your room card to be able to through the main entrance so it is fairly secure and it felt like a safe place. The receptionists were most friendly and absolutely willing to provide guidance at any time of the day I enquired. They even went out of their way to search for the information if they did not know. The hotel itself was very beautifully decorated and there was even a bathtub in the room which I had on the fifth floor(top) which I think was a basic room with a single bed. Therein they had a nice desk and a large safe (yes enough to store a 13inch laptop even). The TV had a few English channels (mainly news). Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay right in the heart of Frankfurt. I In fact wanted to extend my stay but opted out in view that a fair was starting in town and the price skyrocketed, but the same occurred throughout the city and I chose to move out to a more affordable place in Darmstadt. This rise in price was not really the hotel's fault and a basic modelling of demand and supply and the effect of prices due to the start of a fair. This thus does not affect my review, as I would do the same if I worked in the finance department for that hotel.
This is an affordable hotel at a decent location very close to Hauptbahnhof, Messe Frankfurt and the business district. The name of the hotel as it goes it just at the corner of the main junction before Hauptbahnhof when travelling from the Messe area. The entrance can be quite deceiving and it surrounded by construction sites all around. When inside the reception, the looks can be quite deceiving. However the check-in process was really very smooth with the professional handling by the receptionist. When moved up the lift to the room again the initial entrance is quite deceiving as cleaners stuff are kept outside. The room is pretty standard compared to the price and 3-star rating. While I checked it was really hot outside and the quick cool down with the AC inside the room was very welcoming. The bed quality is very nice and the linens looked very new. The pillows were very good as well. There is a TV over the study table, which makes impossible to use the table while having food and watch the TV. The room channel menu promised a lot of channel, but most of them were locked out. There is also a loaded min bar and tea/coffee facilities inside the room. The bath room though small was very well maintained and provided with very nicely maintained towels. The bath soap also was very good. There are no ironing facilities with the room, but can be arranged on request to the reception. The room I was placed did not have any views and was noisy during the night. This was due to few discos around that area. There are coffee shop, bakery, bar and few restaurants just around the surroundings. There is Rewe shop on the next ally and Frankfurt Main is a 5 min walk from this hotel. Its very well for a evening walk or a cycle around Frankfurt, when staying at this location. Overall it can be termed as business hotels with no frills. Can be recommended for the location and price.
The hotel is walking distance to the Main Train Station, Trams also run outside the hotel. We walked to the river from here an easy walk of half hour. Even though you are on a main road it is very quiet room. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room, and a fridge. Wifi was good and included in the room price. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels, there are no toiletries in the room you have to ask reception if you require anything, shaver, sewing kit shoe shine, toothbrush, shower cap, all from reception. The staff are not very friendly, no acknowledgement, no smiles no Greetings. The safe did not work , we informed reception of this on day one of our stay, we were there for 5 nights and nothing was done. If you required an iron or a extra pillow, you always had to call reception twice. Good central place for a short stay.
I was a little worried about what to expect for my €57 per night at what used to be known as the Hotel Kaiserin. My fears were put to rest as soon as we arrived at the Corner Hotel and the welcoming staff member at the front counter allowed us an early check-in and made us feel at home. I asked her about whether the area was unsafe, as I had seen a lot of trashy looking people at the main train station, but she put my concerns to rest there too, and indeed I felt completely at ease when at this hotel. It's only one tram stop away from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof on the 11, 16 or 21 trams. You get off at Platz Der Republik, or it's also a very easy walk if you don't want to pay for the tram. My room was fairly small, as expected, but I've had a lot worse elsewhere and survived! I was glad to have a bathtub in my room - something that one would often pay a little more for. Staff were responsive when we reported a problem with the new flat-screen TV, and it strangely turned out it just needed to be switched off and back on at the plug to solve the problem. The welcome chocolates on our beds were a nice touch, though not all the amenities were cleaned/replaced every day (tea) which we had to follow up. Windows were double glazed and being at a major intersection we could hear the emergency vehicles going past with their sirens, but it wasn't too bad with the windows closed. Overall I can recommend this hotel. It is walking distance to the main train station, and walking distance (at a stretch) to the heart of Frankfurt. I'd say it was a good location in that most of the riff-raff seemed to congregate around the Hauptbahnhof, but the Corner Hotel was far enough away to be a bit isolated from these elements. Amenities were fine, staff were pleasant, and I enjoyed having a bathtub in the room!
This hotel is simple, but very functional. Clean, good location, the shower is very good. The rooms are small, but confortable. The breakfast is very well done with good options. The owner and employees are friendly.
I enjoyed my stay at The Corner Hotel. It was quiet, convenient, and clean. My room was perfect for a the quick stay (one night). I would stay for a longer period too. One drawback - the shower door did not work well. Closing the door to keep water off of the bathroom flo0or and inside the shower is tricky. i think the doors need adjustment. Bottom line: i would stay again, but ask for extra towels for the bathroom floor.
this hotel is very near to main train station. staffs were helpful and polite. Room was quite and clean with good amenities. bathroom was nice and clean. its very easy to walk to city center from this hotel. the price was reasonable and WiFi worked fine during my stay.
I liked this hotel more than I expected. there was construction going on outside but with the windows closed you couldn't here a thing and we were only on floor 2. the air con was powerful the beds lovely and comfy. the rooms on the small side ,once one of you are sat down on a chair you then couldn't walk round he bed. but we managed fine. for the price we paid I was very impressed.
