Beautiful hotel, staff was great, but it being Texas heat in July the room was awful. We asked for a balcony view facing the beach, happy we did get what we requested, but when we got in the room because we were so hot, we were blasted with hot air. The A/C was on 68 degrees, but the balcony door did not work so it was slightly open letting in the Texas heat. We had instructions to tell us how to shut the door and put a rod to hold it closed, but it did not work and we were sweating the whole night. If they would fix the doors it would be a great hotel to stay at. I would not recommend it to my friends till it was taken care of. Alot of money spent to sweat for two nights.

Hotel is older and has had some renovations but still shows its age. Room A/C is not central but a single room unit that was barely able to keep up with the heat. Room had nice TV, good WiFi connection, coffeemaker, microwave, and refrigerator. Refrigerator had an odor. Housekeeping did a good job with cleaning the room. Front desk staff was nice and efficient. The hotel pool is pretty small. There is a swim up bar but on Saturday afternoon when we used the pool, the bar had one attendant. There was beer in a cooler but all mixed drinks such as pina coladas had to be ordered and the attendant would have to go into the hotel to bring them back. $10 a drink is a bit much. Beach is very nice and big. Bring your own beach chairs etc. Expensive to rent. USS Lexington is walking distance and is great object in your beach photos. Good restaurant next to the Lex and also right across from the hotel. Hotel menu was typical so we did not eat any meals there.

stayed for 4 nights in late August with 12 children. We all had the best time.

It is one of the only places right on the beach to stay. Great location next to the Lexington. Although the cleanliness is not there. Poor air circulation, smelly, and the area on that side of the bridge has gotten bad. It was probably nice 15-20 years ago.

Everything was wonderful except for the elevators (both were out of service).

Staff is what makes the difference here. Haven't been to a hotel where the staff is as friendly, proactive and ready to address any need. There is a musty odor on the fourth floor where I was including the room. Bought some Febreeze for the room. Sticky door and shower but these are probably because the hotel is old. Minus those minor things the hotel is nearly perfect. Will recommend and plan on staying again.

Wonderful location overlooking ocean and city. Rooms are very large and spacious. Restaurants are good especially "Blackbeards" in back of hotel. I hope they keep the prices reasonable at $100. A night.

The room was at a corner and one side besides main road, it was noise....

Very good location on the beach close to attractions

Expensive smelly room. Hallway and room smelled like mold. Both rooms. Two other guests barged into our room with keys assigned to them by the desk clerk. Then of course we had to get rekeyed.

Pay for the balcony over the beach. Absolutely worth it.

This hotel is clean, very comfortable, safe, quiet, close to lots of things, beach, food will only stay here

The rooms were clean the bed was comfortable the staff was amazing. The food however was mediocre.

room was very nice & had amazing view. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating. This was one of my best hotel experiences.

We saw this place being built and have enjoyed it for all these years.

Check in was great, quick and staff was friendly. Steps from the beach. Pool had a view of the beach, easy access from inside and outside. Close to many attractions. The stale smell was pretty strong starting from our hallway to the room. Beds were comfortable. Asked for rollaway bed, got an inflatable bed, which worked out fine for our little one. Our balcony door did not lock. Fridge took a couple hours to get cold. The room ac unit was loud, if we turned it off, it was too hot. Oh, watch out for the many homeless people askin for money. Overall, the friendly staff and location made the stay comfortable.

Aged facility that has been updated. Restaurant is odd, like a ghost town. The bar is limited, run out of a room refrigerator. Beach on one side, empty industrial land on the other. One restaurant across the street with good food. No breakfast places in the area other than the hotel. The hotel itself is isolated out on north beach. Without a car you are isolated.

The best hotel on the beach! We had the family suite. It was huge, comfortable and had ample amenities, I even requested a crib and on was bought right up. The balcony had a great view of the bay bridge, hotel pool and beach. Everything was within walking distance. Pier 99 and blackbeards had great food. The shops and street vendors were reasonably priced. The staff was polite, check in was fast and easy. I was early but still able to check in. Breakfast the cafe was really good but a little pricey. If I had to complain the only thing Wished the hotel had was free breakfast. Other than that this mama, her husband and four cubs had a blast.

It's a nice hotel right by the beach. Balcony is a bonus but the AC unit is the noisiest of all! Hard to sleep with the loud blow form the AC. Bathroom door won't close if you're sitting on the toilet bowl. Another thing is the blanket and comforter smells! Oh and no exhaust fan in the bathroom/toilet.

Took the family to the coast for the weekend. Nice trip and nice hotel in a great spot. Walking distance to everything you need for that area.

We apologize for the disappointing service you received from our staff. Our team works hard to make sure our guests are comfortable and receive our best “Yes I Can!” service. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention so that we can be more efficient at the Front Desk. We hope for another opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future.
