Days Inn Historic District

Old, but in the Historic area and a good base for individual walking tours.

We checked in at 3am+ and the nigh clerk was just awful. She was not nice at all. Instead of explaining things with a little customer service thrown in when you ask a question or had an issue she was dry as a bone with yes-no answers and NOT helpful at all! The day shift people were much better but we never really had any contact with them so our impression of the hotel is based on the night clerk. If I owned the place, she would have to go!

This was my third time staying at Days Inn, and I was incredibly disappointed. I was there for my friend's wedding, and the hot water didn't work. I called the front desk. She told me she reset the boiler and to give it a few minutes, but alas, the water remained cold. After washing my hair in cold water, I discovered the hairdryer didn't work either. There was also a HUGE puddle of water outside my room from the A/C that I kept slipping on everytime I walked by. Finally, I found some lady's glasses in my room, so the housekeeping staff didn't do a great job cleaning the room either. I've never been so disappointed in a hotel stay before. :(

It was a great location and walking distance to all that we wanted to see. I will recommend to friends. Great for the price.

The hotel's location is perfect for touring and dining. There is a charge for self parking. The young lady that checked us in was most helpful with direction and suggestions.

Arrived late 8:30 pm room wasn't even ready. Ready about an hour later. Left room around 9:30am to come back after a long day of touring around hot and sweaty at 5:15pm and room was never cleaned. Seriously NOT my problem with the excuses they used to not have rooms ready. You pay $209 a night and they credit a $14 parking fee...what a joke. Guess the clientele doesn't matter. Room door had a weird gap that showed some light from outside. Bathroom tub did not drain well at all. Took a bath along with shower. Both sink and tub stoppers barely worked. Yes was close to great restaurants and shops. But for what we paid was very disappointed.

This was a great location for a reasonable price. The staff was very welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable! It was surprisingly convenient to many of the historical sites and with hotel parking a great place to stay!

It was very convenient, both for walking the area and location to get around. As for the room , it was very loud--it sounded as if our room (237) was located above an atomic generator. As for the bathroom, there was not one safety rail and it was nearly impossible to get in and out of the tub. My wife and I are in our 60's and you had to get in the tub before starting the water and let it drain before you get out .I would be not be surprised if there were "slip and falls" injuries there. It was also very small. Overall, above average/average for cleanliness and a plus that I was driving and able to check- in at noon, regular check-in not until 4:00. Not likely to be back to that part of country soon, would probably stay elsewhere as rather high cost compared to product.

slept well. loved being able to walk to all the sights.

Within walking distance of everything. Every hotel staff I talked to was super friendly. Would stay here again

Clean and had everything that we wanted. Liked the on site parking. Close to lots of restaurants, bars and tourist places. Just what we wanted.. We recognized before we got there that this would not be a luxury hotel but it was better than expected.

I chose this hotel because it was amid the Historic District of Charleston. It was within walking distance to many tourist sites, and although it is a smaller, older? hotel, it was clean, and accommodating.

Clean, nothing fancy, great location for the price.

We had a group of nine co-workers visiting for a weekend. We parked the van on Friday and didn't need to drive again until time to depart for home. Very many restaurants, shopping and entertainment locations within walking distance. We plan to make this an annual trip.

Although inexpensive, not a good stay bc room was not clean. Both sinks were clogged, the floor of the bathtub was peeling and looked awful, the towels were gray from stains. Overall an unpleasant feeling while in the room.

When I go on vacation I don't usually spend a lot of time in my hotel room. The location was great and the price was very reasonable. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Everyone on the staff was very helpful. If your a high maintenance person this may not be for you but if you don't require top amenities the place is perfect. This is about the fourth time I have stayed here and it wont be the last.

For the location you can't beat the price. Nothing fancy about it but it is simple, clean, and right by the market and king st.

We had a wonderful stay. We were about 2 hours early but our room was ready and they let us check in. Perfect location, city market was about a half a block away. Super comfy beds. We would stay here again!

Enjoyed the location, the convienent parking, and the wonderful air condition that was working great. Also liked the ice resturaunt that was attached. Good deal for the price.
