Lovely hotel in a fantastic location for exploring historic charleston. We didn't stay long enough to take full advantage of amenities, but they were excellent. The staff was exceptionally polite and welcoming. The room was small but cozy and comfortable. Very clean. The only complaint I have was the bathroom had an old water/musty smell, especially if you left the door closed for hours while out. However, this seemed to be present thought out the whole historic district so it is likely due to the very old pipes and not necessarily the hotels fault.

The Vendue is in a great location and within walking distance of great restaurants and the market in Charleston's historic district. The hotel has wonderful art displayed throughout the corridors and walls, and brands itself as a luxury hotel. It has a restaurant and bar in the main building with a great roof-top bar as an addition. There are 2 buildings, one across the street from the other. I stayed in a queen interior room that frankly I was surprised by the size of the room. The queen sized bed had just enough room on each side where you could sit and place your feet on the floor and your feet would basically touch the wall. I do understand that it was one of the cheaper priced rooms at about $200 dollars. (sarcasm here) The bathroom was modernly updated, although small compared to other hotels with similar prices. Overall, the hotel was clean, the staff friendly and open, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Very clean, stylish hotel. Beautiful art work displayed in hallways and rooms. Nice linens, bathrobes, towels. Stayed one night only. Our inside room didn't have any windows but a skyroof, had NYC studio vibe in it. Personalized welcome card was touching.

very nice hotel, but gave it 4 stars because of the price

We chose Charleston for our 45th Anniversary trip and decided to stay at the Vendue Inn. The food and drinks were gourmet, delicious and served in an elegant atmosphere. The focus of the Vendue is art so you feel like you are dining in an upscale gallery. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a little issue with the plumbing the first evening and we were immediately moved to a new room with an upgrade and also given a complimentary breakfast in the Drawing Room which was there main dining area. The Rooftop bar offered a panoramic view of Charleston. The hotel is located in the middle of all the action and near the waterfront. Love the memories that we made at the Vendue!

The Vendue's main strengths are its location, its warm, friendly, helpful staff, and its offbeat but elegant style, art all over the walls, old fashioned furniture in the rooms, elegant public areas. Drawing Room restaurant: wonderful yoghurt, granola and berries. Press Room coffee house a great place to hang out and have a pastry or sandwich. My room was small but adequate, I am sure there are nicer pricier ones. Dim lighting for reading. Reception for wifi and TV, spotty, although I appreciated HD HBO, CNN, etc. It's by the harbor and East Bay Street's shops and restaurants and the gorgeous French quarter. Great stay.

The Vendue is very quaint and comfortable. Location is perfect for site seeing historical Charleston and close to great restaurants.

The staff was so friendly and helpful, the room was gorgeous, and the stay was full of happy surprises along the way. We were so happy to have picked this hotel and we will always go back to it on return visits.

From the moment we walked into The Vendue- the staff was fantastic. They took us on a tour of the hotel before taking us up to our room. Our room was perfect- a very comfortable king bed, a fire place and a huge bathroom. The staff made sure our room was always spotless and turn down service was always discrete.

The hotel did meet our expectations. However, the room had very little light and one small window. Trying to use the mirror in the bathroom was almost impossible and yes I should have said something sooner but we got in late and we did not want to change rooms. The SERVICE was excellent.

The Vendue is a beautiful Inn, great location, comfortable room, and friendly staff. The room we stayed in, a signature queen, may be small to some, but to us it was wonderful. The rooftop bar is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We would definitely stay again.

Mark was terrific! From the second we arrived at the Vendue to the moment we left, Mark made my girlfriend and I feel like we were getting the Presidential Treatment. Nick at the front desk as well as Everyone made us feel like we were the most important people at the hotel and were so genuine and sincere. Customer service was above and beyond and this is easily now one of my favorite spots! Can't wait to stay again

When you first arrive, you enter into a gallery of art. Every detail of the Vendue is a piece worth admiring from the paintings on the wall, to the furniture and the iron work. The King Street Suite was spacious and rustic. And then there's the food. The Vendue is a great choice for southern comfort in the French Quarter.

The Vendue is a wonderful intimate hotel where the staff is truly attentive when need be. The restaurant on property is outstanding. We stayed here for a romantic getaway and the staff was extremely courteous about giving us the privacy we wanted, but then assisting us when we wanted to do certain excursions. I highly recommend staying at the Vendue.

Good hotel, but not great. Furniture not high quality, walls so think that noise form guests just walking in hallways sounded loud. Great staff at every level. Convenient (walking distance) to everything in Charleston to see on a 3 day weekend.

In all my 64 years, I have not experienced such a grand hotel experience as our stay at the Vendue Inn . . . it was indeed perfect. In addition to it absolutely perfect location, every staff member we encountered was smiling, helpful, courteous and intent on meeting our every need. From our check-in with Amanda to our wonderful Concierge Robbie, the attention and answers to our many needs and questions was met. Our dinner at the Dressing Room was exquisite and Ryan, our waiter, went way above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. This is certainly a must stay hotel for us in the future when we travel in or around Charleston, SC.

Good service with friendly stuff. Location is very convenient to check out hiatorical sites and the ocean

The Vendue is in a great location and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We had a little issue with our initial room but the staff was more than willing to get us transferred to a new room. We would stay there again.

The hotel was more than what i expected. We stayed at the historical building but enjoyed the nice and modern restaurant/bar across the street. Loved the milk and cookies, the lemon infused water in the lobby and the opportunity to observe the resident artist.

We had stayed at the hotel previously and were disappointed this time. Some rooms are great and some are not. Be sure to request one away from an entrance and ask for one with windows. Our room had maintenance issues which were taken care of quickly.
