My wife and I stayed here last weekend. It was nice to be near King street and Meeting street. It is well kept. Not the cleanest hotel ever, but fairly good. Great valet service. Decent breakfast and dinner menus. It is close to restaurants and shopping a few minutes walk. Farther if you want to go to the Charleston City Market. Overall a pleasant experience.
Whenever we go to Charleston we choose to stay at this hotel. It's in a perfect location near the center of town. The hotel staff are always courteous and go out of their way to make each stay better than the last. We've stayed their so often that they treat us like family.
The location was perfect and the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean, but the cleaning service I found lacking. When we came back from a day of touring, our beds weren't made. The maid left a note saying that they didn't make the beds because of some personal items were on the bed, which was untrue. But even it it was true, move the items to the nightstand and make the beds, like they do in other hotels.
The hotel was as was expected, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our whole experience in a very lovely southern city.
This hotel has good a location. It is not located exactly in the historic part of the city, but we love to walk so it was easier to walk around the city. The hotel near to the King street and very good restaurants. We used the ballet parking service and we did not used again until our stadia was over. Our room was ok. It was not very clean as I expected, but nothing mayor.
The hotel room was spacious and clean. I was here on business and had enough working space. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Very good for that value.tred mills need to be replaced
The hotel staff was excellent in helping us with transport to the marathon start. Very friendly. Room was clean, great value. Will stay here again!
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Our room was clean, beds were very comfortable, no complaints. The bar staff were very friendly. The only downside is the location is a bit far from many of the downtown attractions but there is a free trolley that stops every 15 minutes directly across from the hotel. Perfect for those not able to make the walk.
Hotel staff was so accomadating and very pleasant. I can't say anything bad about this hotel except I wish it was a bit closer for walking distance to all the shops. Overall I would stay here again
My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Charleston Historic District and were very pleased with the hotel. We were looking for a good deal that was within walking distance to King Street restaurants and shopping. This hotel was new, clean, and in a good location. Overall very happy with our stay.
Spent one night and found the staff to be helpful and friendly, and the room was great. However, it was pretty expensive even with discount. Parking for check in was wonky ... it was on street and we had to circle the block until a space was available. it had required valet parking at $16/night.
Comfortable room, clean. Great staff, really helpful. Close to King street and all its great offerings. Terrible view from my room, but I wasn't there to hang out in theroom
the Holiday Inn "Charleston Historic" is not actually in the historic district. It is a good mile walk to the district. this is very misleading. Staff was nice, but room had a water drip inside the walls, and when we told the desk about it, they informed us that all the rooms have that due to a construction error. Also, do not eat in the hotel rest. food was mediocre at best.
Modern hotel, spacious well maintained and equipped rooms. Good bedding and linen. Helpful and friendly staff. EXCELLENT dining room for breakfast and dinner .Great food. Bar has "happy hour" each afternoon. Hotel is located in Historic District, close to cruise ship terminal and easy walking distance to Charleston Visitors Centre. Also short walk to King Street shops etc. Close to Budget Avis and Enterprise car rental offices/depot. Good value for money. Would happily recommend.
Very nice room bu didnt like the 16.00 charge for valet parking.
Charleston is an relatively expensive venue and this hotel provided reasonable accommodations for the value. Restaurant food was good, but pricey. Breakfast was acceptable, but there are many better restaurants for dinner. Location a little far from downtown. Free city shuttle provides access until 9 pm, but is limited, can be crowded and wait times can be long. Valet parking is relatively expensive considering location. However, overall a reasonable place to stay all things considered.
I spent two nights recently for a summer getaway. The hotel is relatively new and located in a section of town that is being revitalized and is convenient to the Visitor Center and only a mile away from the Market and historic churches and majority of the restaurants and shopping. Valet parking is available as is high speed internet. Great place!
This hotel is amazing. From the second I stepped onto the curb till the opening of the door as I was leaving, the staff was perfect. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was amazing, clean, and my patio was perfect. The Meeting Room is fantastic for dining and/or drinks. Big thanks to Jim for being an awesome bartender.
