Starbucks in lobby, love it. Friendly staff. Tour cyclists outside front door. Central location.

Historic atmosphere, decent restaurant, friendly staff, central location. But miniscule, uncomfortable bathroom next to an inexplicably way-too-big walk-in closet, small bar.

Great location but hotel is showing its age and is pretty dated. No pool, exercise room was lacking, room was big, but loud AC, bathroom was kind of grimy, the bathroom door stuck shut, and hit the nightstand when opened.

Excellent staff, location & comfort. The spa they list on their website & Orbitz is, however, permanently closed. Terrible false advertising if that’s a reason you book this hotel. Also, a coffee cup in the restaurant at breakfast AND a wine glass at dinner room service had dark lipstick stains/had to be replaced. Made me wonder about the cleanliness in the kitchen.

The vandalized bicycle outside the hotel side entrance does not lend to a feeling of security.

Liked everything. Perfect location.

It’s a beautiful historical building. Don’t expect a lot of upgrades. The beds were so comfortable, though. We were in a room facing King St the first night. It was noisy so they accommodated us the next two nights, and found a more quiet room for us. Thank you, Francis Marion Hotel. It’s location is perfect for walking around the city.

Bathroom wasn’t clean and it was a challenge to use a toilet that lined up right next to a metal pipe with flush. I had to remove the toilet paper roll and balance to the best of my ability. I just kept thinking about all over the other people who sat there rubbing up against that pipe.

Hot water was only barely warm and could never get room cool - AC blew humid only slightly cool air all night

My room was nice and clean, bathroom super small but was by myself so I didn’t really care. The staff at the front desk have no clue about almost anything. They messed up my parking situation, came back and told them, finally I was given a pass which means and I was told is free then a day later I was still charged $20.

Great location abs staff Has the old charleston feel!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city, everything within walking distance!

Pillow top mattress was too soft. Bathroom was quite small

Great location and great service

I've stayed at the Francis Marion a couple different times over the years. This time the bathroom was a bit smaller than I remember but everything was wonderful. Staff is so nice and everything always feels clean.

Wonderful place! Gilchrist & Soames amenities in the bathroom. Clean, nicely decorated room with a lovely view over King St and the waterfront. Extremely comfortable beds. Due to the location at a major intersection, there's a lot of noise from the street. Sound also carries between rooms. Starbucks and a restaurant in the building. I didn't use the room service or gym. The self-serve parking was a little weird--it's in a building a couple of doors over with no apparent walkway to the hotel (that or the desk clerk just didn't tell me). However, there's valet for a couple of dollars more.

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the staff, location and comfort of the property. I apologize regarding the confusion about our SPA. We do have it listed as being closed on our website, apologies that it did not translate over to the 3rd party website you booked with.
