Hotel convenient to city center, train station; not the tidiest neighborhood but didnt feel unsafe. Affordable. Hotel room is satisfactory, clean, basic, not noisy. Check in staff was very pleasant but Had to put in a lot of effort to get dry towels, which accounts for the lower review. On checkin I initially declined daily service, but the shower (standard European shower with short door—but good water pressure and temperature, by the way) caused a lot of wetness/splash on the floor, so extra towel used for the floor. Requested dry towels the next morning, returned to hotel late in evening. No new towels. As there is no land line phone in room, we just Brought wet towels down to desk to ask for replacement. Told towels would be sent up. 90 min later, no towels, not even the wet ones. Went down to desk again, towels arrived 20 min later. Resolved but a basic hotel amenity that required more effort than it should have.

Well designed - Well Located - Highly Recommend

Room good size - good working area with own light and plugs for charging. Lovely comfy bed. Well located - easy walk from Birmingham New Street Rail Station and close to Tesco express for groceries. Excellent value. Professional, friendly reception. Lovely shower - could switch between rain head or smaller directed head (better if don't want to wash your hair). Well designed room layout - luggage rack etc.. My only minor niggle - had to move the coffee station to a plug close enough for the short cable. Highly recommend.

Nice and clean. Very friendly staff. 8 min walk to bullring. Breakfast was not great in regards to option choice. Key card didn’t work at night to get back in the hotel I had to ring the buzzer apparently because I had a new room. I had to park at mail box but NPC is even closer. Few pay and display outside front. They are doing some refurbishment but I didn’t notice. Overall a great stay and hotel. I would stay again.

Very poor hotel

I stayed at this hotel under the old ownership and assumed it would maintain the standard I was used to. I couldn't have been more wrong. The staff seem disinterested. My room seemed even more basic than I remember it and worst of all, the toilet didn't flush. When I complained about it there was only a shrug and an offer of an inferior room that wasn't suitable. Having to use the public toilet was bad, but made worse by the fact that there was no toilet roll holder and the door lock didn't open without significant manual manipulation. Sadly, I have another booking on a non-refundable reservation. Hoping for better, but with little expectation.

Do not recommend this hotel

I stayed here at the weekend for a family hen party. The rooms were clean. That’s where the good ends. Constant banging of doors at all times during the night, it was a hot weekend and the rooms were unbearable, air conditioning as useful as a chocolate teapot! On the second day/evening there was an incident on our floor ( level 5) where all of us females were staying. A male, acting in a very strange manner was stopping us from entering our rooms. He was looking into peoples rooms via the peep holes, trying door handles, knocking on doors and screaming in people’s faces! From 3pm onwards this was happening and we returned around 10.30pm to be greeted by this! The police were on route!! They eventually detained him. The male members of staff didn’t seem to care, we all just wanted to leave at this point as we felt very uncomfortable and uneasy staying there. The hotel isn’t safe, anyone can access the floors at any point or until security arrives at 11pm!! I wouldn’t recommend staying here especially if you’re lone females. Judging from the undesirables they allow in the hotel it’s not safe.

I've stayed at this hotel many times and will do so again in the future. My family and I love the style and the location - we always enjoy playing pool in the bar and it's a nice family friendly pub. On this occasion, it wasn't the best stay. The first night was a diffficult sleep with the room being 28 degrees (no air con despite what Expedia says). They moved us to another room which was better but still an uncomfortable night and come 8am it sounded like we were sleeping on a building site. Hopefully something they can remedy for the future.

Great location, nice hotel

Great location, nice room although didn't get it cleaned and bed made in between staying 2 nights. Breakfast was very good with choice of cereals, hot food, breads and yoghurt.
