I stayed here with my fiancé and we did enjoy our stay but didn't find this quite as good a hotel as other Novotel hotels we have stayed in. The hotel is nicely decorated in the main entrance and rooms are clean but fairly plain. The hotel is in a fantastic location for clubs, bars and restaurants and a short walk to the shopping centre. The breakfast wasn't quite as good as that offered in other Novotels and whilst staff were friendly, one lady was a bit confused when I asked for a soya latte at breakfast when it's quite usual these days to have dairy free alternatives! Minor but important to some people! I would probably stay here again, especially as it was a very good room rate I paid. I just wasn't blown away, like I have been in other Novotel hotels.
Stayed for 2 nights, overall a good location. Not luxury by any means but not basic either (the website images create a little more of an expectation). Reception area is small but modern. Checkin was quick and efficient, email receipts so saves trying to find bills for expenses. I'd requested a quiet room online when booking and it was noted. Tip would be to ask for a quiet room as they have rooms facing the main road that can be noisy. Rooms are functional but lack a little colour. All white - curtains, walls, bed, shades. Could do with a little more warmth. Overall clean, good working desk, couch and lighting. Separate bathroom and toilet both a little small but functional. I ate in the hotel on the first evening, bar is small but quick service, restaurant could be a little more welcoming. Set up like an exam hall. Nice touch to have more 'homely' choices on the menu, omelette and fries were tasty and their chef even popped out to check. Service was friendly and good. Breakfast starts early and was also nice, plenty coffee, good selection, well stocked with veggie, gluten free and dairy free items. Must note that reception staff were super friendly even organised a 5am grab & go breakfast. Wifi was good and free. I'd stay again if on business.
We arrived at the hotel at 9 o'clock in the morning. My room was ready but for my friend they says she must to wait until 2PM(even if they says in email to be there at 9AM) and i asked if she can stay in my room and they says no,beause i booked for 1 person even if was a double room for 2 people. They gave me room number 108 at the first floor. Was the worst experience on my life because the room was soo dirty, looked like nobody cleaned there in the last month. Also toilet was broken,i had to use the reception toilet that is unacceptable to go at reception in midlle of the night. Also in the room was very cold and all the staff looked really old: bed, chairs, phones. Everything. I was booked the room there as was close to my bussines in the city but i wont do that again as i couldt even sleep because the lengerie was yellow, not white.in the pictures rooms looks nice ,thats why i booked. But was horrible when i get there. About the breakfast,i didnt even have time to order and she bring me the receipt. I says to the lady( black lady) to wait because i didnt say i want to eat,i just ordered a coffe(and she charged me £12 as we were 2 people) and also we was waiting for another 2 people to enjoy with us. So this experience was the worst on my life
Was cold in my room so told reception. They then advised that there was no heating in Guests rooms so I could have an extra duvet. Another duvet arrived. All crumpled up and dirty. Was even told that I need to make it myself!
Very nice stay, comfortable and clean room, friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet. WIFI a bit slow though.Good location hotel for concert venues and nightlife. Not far to the shops which are very good.
I was staying there for a night, had a drink in the bar and there was two bar staff and the manager, It wasn't the first time I stayed so I was having a conversation with one of the bar tenders. The manager wasn't polite and it was rude to us and some of the others customers in the bar, not professional at all. Very different than the others hotels of the brand where I stayed.
much better than others, but still nothing special. most of bigmingham hotels are same standard, cost a lot, but giving nothing special. all the city is very poor.looks like clean, but hairs in toilet, smell, blocked drain.
Things started badly when the staff could not find my reservation caused by Accor 's over complicated website. Once sorted, I found my room which was in bad need of renovations. No plug for the computer, dodgy plumbing, decor out of the 1980s. The breakfast at £13,50 was decidedly average, though the croissants were excellent. Wi-fi was good and the bed, comfortable though spartan. There are better hotels in the centre for less....
We had a stay in Birmingham from 4 March to 5 March and it was farbulous. Thanks for friendly staffs at the hotel, we got upgrade to one of the Executive room. The breakfast is good as well. Defenitely come back again!
Have not stayed here for a few years and as Jury's was full I thought I would give it a try. Reception has had a makeover and looks really fresh and inviting. Checked in and the room was prepaid through Egencia but I was asked for a credit card as a deposit against the room, I asked why as the room has been paid for and was told it was to make sure the Egencia payment went through. Utter nonsense, I have not been asked for my card unless for extras at hotels when paid through Egencia. The fact is it is in case I trash the room! I then asked how much parking was, £15, yes £15 for one nights stay. The reason is that they are in a prime location, yes that is why we pay more for the room. Jury's is £10 so in future I will book more in advance and stay there. On a positive note, the room is quite nice.............
