We were attending an exhibition at the NEC and opted for the Ibis as we were on a short visit and didnt want to spend too much on the accomodation. Great decision as the Ibis is a great deal. We had decided to check in after the exhibition but on walking down the corridor from the station to the exhibition centre we noticed a sign above a door which said Ibis Styles Hotel. As we were not sure the exact location of the hotel we decided to investigate. As it turned out the door led down some stairs and out into the street and into what looks like an industrial estate. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk past a load of warehouses so not much kerb appeal. Once inside we were given a warm welcome from the guy on reception ( sorry didnt get your name) who could not have been more helpful . He even managed to find a cleaned room and get us checked in before 10 am. The room was clean modern , no wow but fine with a nice large shower glass sink. Iron and coffee making facilities. Big TV. Bed was comforable and hotel was nice and quiet at night so no probs sleeping. Breakfast was included and was great value. I think I read it was a continental breakfast and was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Sausages, bacon scrambled eggs, baked beans all available as well as cereals, fresh croissants, muffins and some fresh fruit . All in all the hotel is fantastic value with very friendly staff. ideal if you are visiting the NEC or on a stopover for the airport.
We stayed at the Ibis hotel and its in a great location, close to the resorts world. A really clean and comfortable hotel and very customer friendly. Includes a lovely breakfast and we'll definitely be staying there again
Stayed here overnight as the wife and I came to Birmingham to watch a show at the NEC. Room was quite small, but clean and actually just what we needed. The bathroom and shower were nice and modern. Bed was big. Stiff mattress but had a good night’s sleep on it. The cooked breakfast was a bit underwhelming, as there wasn’t a great deal of choice. But it all tasted nice. The lovely (and loads of) croissants more than made up for it though! Car parking was a tenner for our stay- not obvious that’s it a paid for ‘extra’ but hey ho. The staff were very friendly there- which was great. The night shift staff in the bar (open til 02:30!) were lovely and could not have been more helpful. Overall a great stay. Would recommend. Clean and tidy place, and easy to get to and from Brum.
I do feel like this company is taking advantage & overcharging there customer's Below is copy of a the complaint I made and didn't even get a response, and feedback from others about this situation is welcomed. To whom it may concern I made a booking in April this year via Amoma to stay at your hotel. After receiving confirmation from Amoma I phoned your hotel to confirm my booking and I was told that a reservation for two rooms had been made on a prepaid basis. On Saturday after receiving a email from Amoma stating they had cease trading I phoned your hotel again regards to my reservation, I was told by your Reception Manager that my booking was still showing at prepaid for December. I asked if she could send me an email confirmation regards to this. The email received did not show show the correct details as disgust as it was only showing the one room and reservation price of £46 therefore I replied back by email asking for confirmation again which I had no reply. This morning when I phoned your Reception Manager again about this she put through to your reservation team who then told me that my booking was being cancelled due to non-payment from Amoma. Your representative did state I couldnt keep my existing booking even though I was willing to pay the outstanding balance of £46 per room but instead they offered me a new booking at a discount rate of £69.99 per room. When I asked to speak to your Reservation Manager I was told "Richard" was not available until later that morning. When I later spoke to Richard I was told that there was some confusion with the office and that my reservation was to be cancelled but he could offer me a discount rate of £79.99 which was the best price he could give if I was to book now, when I asked about my outstanding balance not paid by Amoma and why I couldn't keep my booking and agree to pay my outstanding balance and keep my booking, I was told that was a contract rate with them and therefore it would be cancelled. I also questioned the new price as I'd been quoted earlier £69.99 which after been put on hold you came back with the same price. With this please can you confirm the following 1) Why was my booking showing as prepaid when no money was paid by Amoma? 2) Why is my booking being cancelled if I was willing to pay my outstanding balance? 3) Why is it your representatives are up-selling my booking as a new booking at much higher price?
A night stay visiting Russell Howard tour with my partner. The venue for the NEC was spot on only 10 minute walk which was ideal and 10 minutes to walk to the airport to watch planes. On the arrivals greeted by a polite woman who was always smiling. Went upstairs to open our room cards we couldn’t go in we struggled until we had to get house keeping to let us in and realised our keycards are faulty due to turning lights on. Staff at reception spoke little English was very helpful and got it sorted. Loved the shower very clean and I did like your shower gel which I want some myself. Beds were not the comfiest. Had drinks at the bar at the greening served by Harry who was very polite. Prices were decent at the hotel unlike anywhere nearby. Breakfast was help yourself continental breakfast which was very good I enjoyed it and very filling for the day. Could do with choices of pancakes for the kids or omelettes. Will come and visit again.
Nice, clean and friendly hotel with easy access to Airport and NEC. The hotel staff is very helpful and offers solutions for things you might need. Breakfast could be a bit more healthy, but everyone will find something to eat.
Stayed here for one night while attending A place in the sun live in hall 2 at the NEC,was just a 12 Min walk from hotel so great for us.Hotel nice,rooms good,not the cheapest out there but did include breakfast for us, would use again ,also 15 min walk to rail station and ventured into Birmingham for the evening .
Very clean , staff friendly , good breakfast and Aaron on reception went out of his way to get a glass of milk for my daughter when everywhere was closed . Definitely recommend for airport or nec visit .
I have spent only one night here. The location is quite good, near the airport, but the hotel definitely need some renovation. In my room I had a problem with the air conditioning. Could not be switch off. Even on switch off mode was in function, but on cooling mode, even the temperature set was 24 C degree. I leave very early in the morning and they have early breakfast from 3 a.m. The real breakfast starts at 7, but was ok what I found at 4 a.m. Overall is an average hotel.
Really great to find a clean, comfy and warm welcome in an airport hotel. The rooms are very good with tea and coffee facilities in the room. Comfy bed and excellent breakfast, nothing more needed! Thank you
